I recently replaced my headlight and ballast and once I did, now the level is off, can I adjust it the way you did manually? It won't seem to auto adjust
Auto leveling will do that for two reasons: 1- it’s broken and I’m safety mode 2- you lowered your car In both case you need to fix it, by finding and fixing the issue and/or by resetting the sensor. Then only you turn the screws on the headlight to aim them properly.
@@huntapb interesting, ill check when io get home! On more thing, whats the best way to lube door hinges ? wd40 standard or wd40 white lithium ? Because I tried white lithium and im not happy with the result
Headlight autoleveling is THE DUMBEST MOST DANGEROUS option for a car. Can fail while driving and has but mostly, if rear tires are low OR high it effects autoleveling throwing off the "throw" or distance your lights can cast a beam of light ahead of car. (OR not throw a beam, LOL)
Don't smoke weed before doing video. NO seriously, park in front of the garage door and you can see exactly where they point using the horizontal lines on the garage door.
You legend! Thanks for sharing. Nailed my problem. I've been blinding oncoming traffic since I got my Jetta
Couldn't find this video anywhere. Couldn't work out why my throw was so short! So helpful much appreciated man!!!
Thanks for the video!
Hello do you ever fix the problem with your headlights bc i have the same problem with my gti
what bulbs are you using?
Is there way to adjust high beams?
mine headlights light to the left can you help me fix that?
the lights should be adjusted in front of a wall. You can easily adjust vertical and horizontal position.
Actually both. Using a wall or garage door doesnt tell you how far your light is being thrown and if you need to go up or down.
How many complete turns did you make?

Dude, You could have done it during the day so people know exactly what to look for
lol yo my headlights are literally fidgeting... any ideas... anyone?😭
A Phillips screwdriver is easier to use.
Really? Even in an allen slot?
Brokeswagen look inside the slot... it's a Phillips thread. I have a mk5 as well and had adjust the headlights because I am dumped.
Dang this guy talks a lot. He could have done this video with 90% less words.
Damn I think I broke my headlights! The lens just points downward and it'll just stay there 😭
Alex Santiago Mine did the same thing, must be one of the levelling sensors.
You have to use VCDS if you have automatic adjustment.

The nut behind the steering wheel can also fail at any time. Dumbest design decision
