After using a headlight restoration kit, my reflector high beams were bright again, but the low beams still disappointingly dim. I cleaned the inside of the low beam projector lenses with alcohol as a last ditch effort. I can see! Thank you so very much.
This is one of the best video for cleaning inside projector i have seen. Tank you. In this weekend i'll take off the lights from my car and carrefouly i'll try to do the same thing. Just hope to get out the projector from the main unit easely.
Exactly the fix I was looking for! Just bought a 2013 Pete 579. With no previous experience with this model, I didn’t know if the issue was the bulb, lens or a badly chosen aftermarket part. I’ll be spending the afternoon cleaning mine…. Thank you!
Thanks for the tip. I've been singing the blues with my lowbeams in a 2016 579...can't see worth a plug nickel. I'll try this. Wished you'da shown how to adjust them.
Thanks amigo, 10-4 roger dodger, I looked all over the web for this information..! Pretty simple after you've seen it done.. Johnny Rocket rides again, with bright headlights......!
I wonder how many people don’t notice this going on. Think their lights are just crappy, but new ones and still don’t much of a change. I just took a look at my wife’s Dodge Durango and they are definitely cloudy, kind of like when a clear glass that goes into the dishwasher comes out kinds white stained at times and the same Cousy appearance.
It’s really simple on your vehicle. My Subaru Outback you have to go under the fender well, can barely get my hand up in there. That being said, I had planned to change the headlight assembly, but may try this first
Thanks for the video! Gonna try this on my 2008 Scion xB. I’m having this issue where in between the two low beam headlights it’s completely dark. Hoping that cleaning the projectors like you did will do the trick, and brighten up the middle.
Cleaning the lenses makes a huge difference! You should really upgraded the projectors with bixenon once, that would give you even better high beam light. And it looks really easy to do in this headlight as you can easely just take it out. You would need wires to activate the solenoid for the highbeam tho, but i would definetly upgraded to bixenon if i where you! 🙂
On my cars I wish the plastic polish was an option, but all mine are messed up on the inside. And that's one hell of a job taking a head light housing apart and polishing.
The headlight assembly on a bmw f30 does not allow the projectors to be removed without cutting the outer lens out from the housing. If anyone knows an alternative method, please do share.
Those headlight bulbs look like they're xenon Arc bulbs, the square pack on the back is the starting ballast... if packs a serious amount of angry pixies that will hurt you! so make sure you know how to handle them properly.
No, thats why they are cut of like they are, but ofcours they have to be adjusted to the right hight. If they are to high it will be annoying for oncoming traffic, but it they are correct they will still remain in the "dark side" of the light or over the cutoff where its dark. Thats also why there is a step in the cut of, so its higher on the right side then the left side that hits traffic. 🙂 That way you will have some more light out in the ditch to your right.
What happens is the reflector degrades over time from the heat & UV from the bulbs. It's aluminium coated not chrome & only a couple of microns thick! The cloudy lense is aluminium/aluminum deposits from the reflector. HTH

I was thinking of buying new headlights but after I've done this, my headlights started shining like new!
This is awesome!
Thanks for this video. I did it this week on my T660. 800k miles and the projector lense was very cloudy. Definitely made a difference.
That's brilliant. I'm having the same problems with my car's headlights. Well done 👍
A fix that not only works on trucks too, thanks heaps for sharing this and stay safe.
heads up using IPA on the projector is fine but careful on the reflector some coating will come and will distort the beam.
What do you suggest for the reflector?

Not a hater here but really this is an 11 minute video on how to clean glass. good effort.

Hi Dean. Now put Rain X on the lens. That keeps rain and snow off them. Say hello to Donna. Hope that you guys had a good time off.
I'll do that
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Great video. Thank you for Sharing
Thats a big help Pops...thanks
Job well done, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching

I changed the bulb so many time and same results. I will try this method and see if that truly work . Will update my comment after doing this .
Hello Dean , that cleaning went real well . The two of you should see the road better at night now .Take Care .Peace .
Thanks Stuart
Can you show how did you adjust the head lights please?
Hi.. nice video... How did you adjust the level of the driver side headlight..???
That's what I want to know..
Nice.. i have the same probleme with my peterbilt
Great video thank you 😊
Nice thanks for the video
Can I do this on my 2008 Lexus rx350 ?
Are y’all still making videos on the new property or trucking?
Why does the lens get hazy if the assembly is closed and sealed?
Must be photon dust. Lol.
I'm gonna try it on my 2012 Cadillac SRX. Thanks
I'm gonna be doing this and replacing mine with the LEDS when I get home
Quick Question! How do you adjust (aim) the actual low beam?? Great video BTW! Roll safe driver 🚛
Update guys, The white knob is for the low beam & the high beam adjustment. Clockwise is up & counter-clockwise is down. Hope this helps
Thank you!
Super helpful thanks 😊 🙏
Good job, Amazing 😉
Thanks
Will this work on a t 370?
I may need to try this with my T680, though my entire assembly needs an interior cleaning somehow
Is there a way to clean the inside of the main outer lense? Mine has alot of dust inside it.
Good luck trying to get a shop to do anything let alone do it right. Lol 😁
What do u use to clean them with ?
Which product use for clean?
This is what our suv headlight needs. It is getting cloudy inside the projector lens
Thanks! This helped me
Thenk you
awesome
Nice job driver
Thank you
Anyone know what size torx head we need to remove the torx head screws to perform this job? We have a T680. Just want to grab one for the truck.
thanks for this video. :)
Very helpful, I Recently bought LED lights to help me see at night but this is the next step I need to take
Gonna be doing my Mercedes soon

Thanks👍🏼
Nice
Whta size torx was that
Helo brother can you tell me about bulbs what number they are and how can i get that

thank you
Driver side should always be lower due to on coming traffic so they dont go blind

Interesting but old style headlights wipe off and drive, progress maybe, pull toy here
I'll take the old style any day. These hid and led lights freeze like crazy. There's not enough heat to keep them clear.

I’m from Saudi you help me with this video thank you
Dude. Pro tip.
Exactly the same issue on GMC Acadia's. Thanks. 👍👍
oh ya my Volvo truck has this problem too ..
How much better can you see now
TKS like the music
So easy if I just take out my engine
Does anyone know how to use a tripod for the camera ? Hand held videos "SUCK" !
Driver's side should be lower so you don't blind the guy coming towards you
I thought this was for a home theater not a truck
Look like only 1 side of Bottles glasses.
😂
T❤😂
The quality of those lens are not good, swap for new 2.5 inch from nlight ,and you will see a huge difference.
Thank u
