  • How to disassemble and clean headlights projector lens in Volvo V50, S40, C30 & C70 vehicles. Remove dust for better light quality and increased lamp range in your Volvo car.
    Only tools you need are: glass cleaning cloth and torx T-25 screwdriver.
    Do not use any cleaning chemicals as they will most likely damage lens mirror and make the headlight work even worst!

    Is there a way to angle the beam up a tiny bit more, volvo decided to point 90% of the light at the floor.

    Is there a chance to damage the paint that covers the reflector so it starts to hatch?

    • @mrfixpl
      @mrfixpl  8 лет назад +1

      +dobromir86 if the paint is burned there's a chance that you'll damage it more by trying to clean it.

    Thanks for the straightforward tutorial.
    My headlight aim is low. Is there a way where I could adjust it to have a higher aim somewhere? Based on your tutorial, I can fit a washer on the top screws so that I could achieve that.
    Any recommendations?

    Great video! Hopefully you will reply on this one: Do you have to realign the headlights again? I don't want to blind my fellow road travellers :)

    • @mrfixpl
      @mrfixpl  6 лет назад +1

      There should be no need for that but you can check just to be sure.

    Ive done this side. But what about the other side because the motor thing is in the way of getting one of the screws out.

    • @mrfixpl
      @mrfixpl  6 лет назад

      If you adjust the light and use a thin screwdriver you can get it out.

    @mr-fix Great vid thanks. Slightly off topic, are those the OSRAM nightbreaker bulbs? And if so do they give a xenon-like effect? I want to achieve as close to a HID kit effect as I can without installing the kit as they're now illegal. Any info appreciated. Thanks.

    • @mrfixpl
      @mrfixpl  8 лет назад +1

      +oneilldom //
      Hi! Those are just standard bulbs. I do NOT recommend installing "extra bright +25% xenon-effect HD night breaker" bulbs. With extra light they produce extra heat which will burn the lens mirror and in few months your light will be worse the before.
      H7 bulbs by law are limited to 1500 lumens (+/- 10%) and xenon makes 2000-3000 lumens.

    Do you need to adjust the height and position somehow after doing this? I want to do it on my old Ford that has xenon porjector head lights. It looks very similiar to this. Thanks!

    • @mrfixpl
      @mrfixpl  9 лет назад +3

      Dan Isaksson No. You don't need to adjust your lights after doing that. But just to be sure mark the light/shadow line on the wall before starting and compare at the end.

    hi thanks for posting. But how did you painted the amber reflective material? does it still reflect some light?

    • @mrfixpl
      @mrfixpl  7 лет назад

      I didn't. Those are stock C30 headlights.

    there is also the video for the left headlight?

    • @mrfixpl
      @mrfixpl  8 лет назад

      +Andrea Galtelli no, but left and right side are not that much a difference. Only thing that you should watch for is that one side has poor access to one of the screws.

    Did this just today. On Volvo v50.
    One bad thing I managed to get is the right or left lamp one of the screw is blocked by big plastic which regulates the height of the beam. It took me an hour to remove the screw and put it back in later on.
    Cleaned the lens they were covered with white dust, my reflectors are a bit burnt.
    Installed Philips white vision halogenas will test out at night.
    Any tips how to dissasmble the reflectors from the lens? They are not held by screws... Was wondering because thinking to change the burnt reflectors.
    Thanks in advance.

  • @danieleastmanuk

    hi I've tried doing this got as far as removing 2 of the t25 screws but then 1 of the screws seems inaccessible - any advice? thanks

    • @mrfixpl
      @mrfixpl  7 лет назад

      You can adjust headlights so the 3rd screw is more accessible or even slightly bend the housing so it does not hit the adjustment motor. (do at your own risk)

      +mr-fix i think he have a little bit different model, i tried to do this too, but there you can easily access just two screws, third one blocked and can be accessed with screwdriver just by 30 degree angle. My (halogen) looks like this imgur.com/XQFJxzT

    • @YonOtto
      @YonOtto 9 лет назад +1

      Martynas Shnaresys It was so much hard work to get the final screw out, I actually had to force the reflector down away from the black shroud that was blocking the final screw. I took a risk of actually breaking the reflector with the amount of force I had to use to get to that final screw. Luckily the reflectors held up. I have them out and cleaned the glass. I have reattached the reflectors with the just the two easier accessed screws so I don't have to go through that ball-ache again. The reflectors are fine being held with just two screws. They don't move at all.

    • @MartynasShnaresys
      @MartynasShnaresys 9 лет назад +1

      That's good to know! Thanks for sharing.

    • @pipp3508
      @pipp3508 8 лет назад +4

      +Martynas Shnaresys in the v50 headlight housing there are 2 other screws connected with white plastic pieces above the 3 he discussed in this video. If you loosen (do not remove) these screws the entire reflector will then move enough for you to access the last screw.
