Hey Jon you can also spray the rubber mounts with silicone spray too it will keep them plyable and fresh .. I do that with anything rubber under the car like cv boots ball joints and keeps the rubber from tearing and last a longtime .. good work as always ..
The aftermarket mounts are noisy. Always go OEM they last longer and they dampen the vibrations better. People always want cheap parts I’m guilty of this myself but for certain parts it just ain’t worth it. I think the OEM mounts are only like $100 so that’s not too bad honestly.
No animals harmed - so no mouse nest in the air intake then, haha. I only recently learned about how mounts can be filled with fluids too. It sucks to have to pay so much more for OEM mounts, but it's got to be worth it if the aftermarket doesn't even solve the problem!
Bought a new OEM front engine mount and mine came with that diafram concave... Still having issues as well, not sure if the mount is okay or if it is one of the other mounts. Time to try out the transmission mount since my torque mount looked fine when I took it out.
Awesome vid !! Don’t know if you have any idea what this might be, but my 2012 acura tsx shakes at 60mph. Weird thing is i dont think its suspension related bc the steering wheel doesnt shake at all. The whole frame of the car shakes, it makes it feel like youre getting a massage lmao. Trans shifts fine, mounts seem fine. Car is salvaged, but ive been driving it for years without this issue until recently. Thank you !
Check the tires. Ive seen bad tires cause a shake like that at those speeds. Specifically the rear tires if you can feel the shake throughout the whole car
I have a 2024 Honda Civic and I’ve had shaking and vibration happen at highway speeds and both times it was just tires and wheels needed balancing check the tires and wheels they play a huge roll in how a car rides
My Honda is slightly shaking when accelerating in low rpm I wonder if it’s the motor mount or cv joint it’s not doing it really bad but is sometimes noticeable I want to fix this before it gets worse
Great video, learned something new. Makes me wonder if the manual is supposed to have the non hydraulic application. Where did you get the mounts from and do you ever sleep? 😂
The mounts came from rockauto , yeah I don't know if the manual version is supposed to use different mounts but it worked perfectly for this car.thats what caused me to buy the wrong mounts. Its the only mount that wasnt listed for a manual trans . I sleep in pretty much every day. No shortage of sleep here 😂💪

@@themechanic6117 Hey man wanted to say thanks again. I ordered the part and had Big O Tires fix the other ones they put in as well and it's finally running smooth. It's been a battle with them to get it right. 3 trips and every time they've said it's fixed. Appreciate the video and advice!
If that trans fluid hasn’t been changed in that long, won’t it kill the trans if you add new fluid because it’ll flush out that gunk in between the gears Causing the trans to slip ? I kept reading that all over forums. Need to change mine but I’m scared to now

Have the same exact problem for my 2017. Took it to three dealers and 2 said the same exact thing. It's due to the idle which is computerized and can't be adjusted. They set the idle low for better gad mileage. So unacceptable. Called parent Honda and got no relief. The third dealer actually changed one motor mount and the problem was slightly better but returned with avengeance. I won't buy another Honda. Had much better luck with our Toyotas. Good luck everyone.
Great customer service going that extra mile to make sure the fix is complete even if it means buying the part yourself. Nice one dude.
I didnt like that she paid to get her car fixed and she would leave here without the car fixed so i did what i thought was right.
Good feeling when you complete an honest day's work and the customer is happy. Thanks for sharing!
It sure is ! Thanks for watching

Can you explain how to take off transmission mount? Does the mount shifts back when removal?

Anchor

Tried that. Made no difference. The first mount clearly wasnt the correct mount(not hydraulic)
What caused the eng mounts to fails after only 7 or 8 years? I have seen some last decades
How much do u charge for this problem
Does the fluid have anything to do with the vibration?
The fluid in the mounts?
Thank you for this information it was real helpful can you send me The brand for the top motor mount hydraulic I like to purchase one thx u
I believe the brand anchor sells them

Yeah thats how the car came in. Those screws arent important.most cars dont even use screws to hold the rotors but i always try to put them back

Question I have a 2013 Honda Civic same situation does those transmissions are CVT ?
I think the 2014 models they started putting in cvt trans
What tool did you use to take off the bolt on top of the mount for the bracket
I think I used a E torx socket but I can't remember
