@@pierro007 sounds great Im about to replace the mount this Saturday on my 2012 civic. Did you jack it up underneath the oil pan? Thats where I saw another guy did it in another video
@@pierro007 just completed the job and now my car is quiet as a mouse! Had a few difficulties though such as the (2) 17mm and (1) 19mm bolt wouldnt budge. Had to leave pb blaster overnight and use a 1/2 25 inch breaker bar with extension to get them off. Other than that, I successfully saved hundreds of dollars on this job!
Aye bro thx a lot I helped my car to not shake anymore I didn’t know what to do I when to a mechanic and told me it was going to be $900 bucks for him to change it and also 100 for the part so I watched your video and it helped a lot thx
Tysm. My motor mount was completely caved in. 🤦🏽♀️🥲 I’m a 25 year old woman with some simple car repairs under my belt. This one was a lil more involved but I still managed. Took me 3 hours only cus I struggled getting the mount to line up when putting the new one in, but I got it. The car runs like butter now. No vibrations, no clunks, it’s truly amazing. Ty for your knowledge. 💁🏽♀️ gonna try and replace the lower torque mount in a few weeks too but it’s a night and day difference just from replacing this one. 😇
It's unfortunate that this happened. There are methods to our industry, such as the one you listed, that could have been done given the right circumstance. I'm doing this repair in front of my house with nothing more than a 1/2 & 1/4 socket set. Everything else is at work and I did not have access to them. This repair was time sensitive and intended to show my viewers what you could do if you don't have the ability to extract the old broken bolt. So long as you are able to find another engine ground, everything will operate the same. Just the matter of re routing the ground to a new location. Cheers!
How did you diagnose that the mount needed to be replaced? I have a knocking on my ‘12 when I let the clutch out in reverse and I’m wondering if this is the problem
Most likely that tranny mount but it can be anyone but they to have problems with them mounts for them years. I always put and change them all out with soon performance mounts and they will last you pretty much life of the car depending on how one drives.
Did you use a coupe mount or made sure it was for a sedan? I’ve noticed the sedans have the bolt with the mount for the side mount bracket! And coupes don’t come with it.
I have a 2012 civic with 130k miles and I need to change the mount this weekend. I'm confident I can do this myself after watching your video!
How did it go?
@@ExoticMario it went well. Got it done with the help from the video instructions.

You just commented this on the video on top 😂😂😂
Thats either a '13 '14 or '15 but not a 2012. Good video anyhow!
yeap. never '12
I mean that’s how my 2012 looks like so idk 🤷♂️ it works for me
it's only a facelift, 2012 still applies
is it ok not to replace the other side? i think you should replace both left and right
No, the transmission one shouldn’t go back as long as the other ones are replaced in time
Nice 👍🏽 job
Why not get the broken bolt out with a left handed drill bit? I've gotten out 20+ year old bolts with that no problem.

Put a load on it. Hold the Brake and give it gas in reverse and in drive to view which mount is blown out.

what socket size is that torx-like bolt?
6:50 crankin on that 10mm like its a 17
Good job you guys still working Justin or shut down
Really should have placed a board on the jack to create a largwr area of support

My mount didn’t come with the upper bracket. How do you remover the torx bolt? What size?
Was this an auto or Manual? I’ve noticed there’s a difference.
How do I know if it needs changing
What does that ground strap run to?
How do you know you need a new engine mount?
Oh you WILL know… loud as hell and lots of vibrations
If you never tried tekton again. Would you have bought niko?
The stud that holds mine broke and the bolt aswell
How many motor mounts has a honda civic 2012

Danm honda you should redesign your engine mount, i have a 2007 honda civic and engine mount always fail even i replace it with the oem part
Damn he messed up the ground wire
Justin Dow weekend warrior at your service 1-800-BUY-MY-BEERS 🤣

When you hear that bolt break. Oof
What is a part number ? Please
$302.43 OEM straight from the dealer. Brought mine yesterday. Don’t buy that aftermarket crap.
@@divinemessenger2030should always buy OEM parts online instead of dealer since its cheaper lol
That’s a 2013 not a 2012
Is your sons name Fabio by chance?😅
