This is great! One of the biggest things I’ve learned from watching these and from my own personal experience is that being a DJ is truly learning to improvise when playing sets, once you get out of the bedroom and are playing consistently in front of crowds it’s all about being quick on your foot and knowing your music. Love these!!

the best thing about you Luke is that you have the courage to take risks and just enjoy the moment you are in. Happy to say I was there at Rehab ! Crazy weekend with the holidays and the damn heat. For a second I forgot you were playing due to all the crqzyness but then quickly ran to the stage and partied it up there for a bit . Big ups hope to see you back again in Vegas soon

Thank you for posting these types of videos! They are so helpful. I too was in Vegas DJing my first after party last Saturday (albeit in a smaller venue at the Orleans) for the burlesque hall of fame weekend after party. Nervous but won the night and kept the dance floor packed until 5am! Thank you again for leading by example.

Thanks for the demo and comments as to what you're doing. I think they should _always_ have a projection screen showing an overhead view of what the DJ's doing. Much more interesting than just seeing a torso waving around and arms coming up from time to time.
The efforts You take for all those who watch your VLOGS is Incredible! Really love the fact that You yourself edit them.
In my study of world domination through dj music the hardest hurdle for me was to understand the difference between what a mix mash cd sounds like, what a remix song sounds like and how to properly create a song that will sound good in all the right spots before it hits the decks. As you explained in this video once the songs hit the decks all kinds of tweaking happens and to know what a song needs to be before that part is probably most difficult.
I've never been a big fan of the genre you playing, but I love your vlogs, and your personality too. For me, you're an EXAMPLE how to be happy man/dj/producer and how to deal with PR! That's why I can't wait for your new vlog each week! Congratulations!

Beat matching by ear was all we had back in the day. You either got good at it or you didn't last long in the industry. Sync has its place but you have to be able to beat match well just in case. Great vlog, Luke.

Great being able to know what your thinking about as you perform. It's the most helpful experience for new new DJs. That's the real skill. Knowing what to do and being able to figure out what to play next while playing live.

without preparing a set it is difficult to mix songs live with crowd reaction.
because then we have to decide instantly which songs to play. you are awesome with live mixing, sometimes you took risk while mixing. But because of your years of experience you did awesome mixing.

Matthew Espinoza He's more of a Hip-hop DJ. Just think it would be cool for the two to do a Video together since they both started out on vinyl. TLM actually still uses vinyl.
