    Every day we stray further from the light of the football gods. They continually punish us with horrible things we call the game itself. We can have nothing nice in this world (excluding the long-awaited death of the Patriots), and this video is further reinforcement of it. God can no longer help us in this plight. We will have to push on further without assistance.

    My favorite story about Dick Butkus was against Minnesota when he was trying to sack Fran Tarkenton near the Minnesota 5. Tarkenton desperately tried to throw the ball away, only for Butkus to jump and intercept it. Rather than walk the final five yards into the endzone for the touchdown, Butkus ran SIDEWAYS, running to the side and dropping his shoulder to lay Tarkenton out... then walked into the endzone.

      Unfortunately it's just a story. Butkus never scored a pick six TD in his career. He had one fumble recovery in the end zone for a TD in his final season of 1973, against the Houston Oilers.

      @@Supernova2464in week 17 of 2019 which at the time was the final week of the season the 2 seed holder in the New England patriots and the 3 seed holder in the chiefs were both playing for playoff seeding. Kevin harlan was calling the chiefs game and the Miami dolphins were driving down the field about to upset the patriots so he was giving play by play of that game while calling the chiefs game which is where the quote comes from. Chiefs would end up securing the bye after a pats upset loss and later down the road won their first Super Bowl in 50 years.

      I hate this going around because the situation just wasn't the same in 2018. Oregon still needed a first down to fully ice the game, and any coach would have called a run in that situation to avoid having to punt the ball away and risk something crazy happening. A miscue on the punt is more likely than your ball carrier fumbling the ball in that situation.
      What he did with Miami though, absolute yikes.

      The case for keeping Wilks was as a motivational culture guy. That reputation goes away when the team shrivels up and dies against Tampa Bay in Week 17. Well, yeah, but wtf passes for thought when it comes to you fans? If the owners knew what good coaches were, they'd _be_ their own HCs. They *don't* know. & uin this video, Tree shows that he doesn't know either. He wonders how Reich went from being such a respectable coach to this in just two years. Well, there's two things wrong with that.
      1) Reich was never a respectaBLE coach, but a mistakenly respected one. 2) If he ever had been respectable, he threw that all away two years ago.
      Because he was QB coach in PHI it was *assumed* that he was behind the transformation of Nick Foles. Not only have we seen *Doug **_Pederson_* achieve that same transformation with another QB, Reich _had Foles_ on his team & clearly didn't know how to coach him! He started Ehlinger, not Foles.
      Wentz was Reich's man in PHI & Reich got Wentz back as starter when Foles was winning games. His entire reputation is based upon an obviously false presumption. He stank _in_ PHI so badly he got himself & Pederson fired.

    • @FlyHenryFly
      @FlyHenryFly 8 месяцев назад

      Rhule was the problem when we had him. But now the lack of talent and our owner is the problem. Reich also needs to stop calling plays, I mean holy hell Bryce has looked good the past two weeks, they need to let him throw the damn ball more than 15 yards. They let Dalton do it, he threw way more than Bryce and our offense was good. Bryce is starting over Dalton for a reason. Expand the playbook

      Besides that though he was dropping absolute dimes to his receivers and they just couldn’t catch them. Not much more you can do as a quarterback, had they just been reeling them in it would’ve been a blow out.
