I really like this song it's like a journey smooth atmospheric melodies and then strong and powerful, definitely this song is what I expect from Dimmu.
The native guy you mention here is Mikkel Gaup. He's a Sámi Norwegian film and stage actor. The Sámi people is the native people of Norway, so you're right. He is a native. :) Great clip, by the way. :)
I really like your breakdowns in terms of analysis of the different parts and instruments in the songs. I also love how you let your son voice his opinion first and then when you comment you point various different things to him, essentially teaching him how to look at music from more technical perspective. Very cool. I said that some time ago, but may have been lost in the comments, or maybe just omitted intentionally by you, but I would love it if you also looked at lyrics as part of your reactions and tried to comment on those as well, I think some lyrics in metal songs are very good incentives for philosophical doscussions.
Thank you for your comment. In some rare occasions I have mentioned the lyrics, I can think of Paradise Lost video True Belief as one that pops into my mind, but it is hard to do that and keep the videos around the 10 minute mark...I don't want to get the videos too long and boring for some. The reason why I started the channel is to get him more into metal and I have achieved that and I also think it is important for him to voice his opinion first and then listen to mine, I don't want to influence him, I want him to develop his own thoughts and ideas about the music. To be honest with you, we are more of a music review channel than a reaction channel...to me reaction part of things is a byproduct of us reviewing the music...that is why we added the concert reviews, album reviews and even the interviews so we can go deeper into the music and not just sit and watch videos.
A&P-REACTS thanks for the reply. I totally get that the concept of the channel is different than just 'reaction' and I think you're doing a bloody good job at what you set out to do. Also it's a pleasure to see how your son's knowledge of the subject and charisma develop. There is a massive difference between how he spoke/acted in front of the cam 6 months ago and now. Do pass my regards into him, he is certainly growing into the role very well and at the end of the day this is what you mentioned above, a development tool for him (amongst other things). As for going north of the 10min mark, I would not be too worried about this, the concept of the channel is to talk about music after all! Anyway, well done and looking forward to other videos. Also, Rootwater - Living in a cage *wink**wink*
Hey,great review.I just want to say that the chanting in the backround in the chorus is sami joik. The samis are an indigenos people here in Norway, the guy that performs this joik is a well known actor and musical artist here in Norway, and his name is Mikkel Gaup.Just wanted to clarify! :)
Since you guys are going to see Cradle of Filth I suggest: Cradle of Filth - Her Ghost in the Fog Cradle of Filth - From the Cradle to Enslave Cradle of Filth - Principle of Evil Made Flesh
Catholic school turned me into an Atheist and I started listening to Black Metal. I guess it's good then? In a bad sort of way. Struggle creates strength.
TheStig ZeroZeroZero indeed as it’s cyclical. Good times create weak men. Weak men create bad times. Bad times create strong men. Strong men create good times.
You should do a Kamelot double header featuring harsh vocals. March of Mephisto has Shagrath from Dimmu Borgir and The Great Pandemonium has Bjorn Strid from Soilwork. It will also expose you to Kamelot's original lead singer. Both songs are fantastic.
May take a few listens to win me over, not really my thing, but in saying that, they are as always showing their versatility as musicians, great reaction guys
There's a lot of interesting stuff going on in this track. First, the band is not in a hurry at all. They're willing t let everything develop on its own time. I like the massed chorus, especially the female chorus at points. I enjoyed the tremolo picking on the guitar by Galder. The chanted vocal accents were a neat addition, as was the almost Doom Metal pacing. The lyrics seemed to be right along the lines of what we'd expect from Dimmu. Overall, I liked the experimental aspect of this song. They've mixed a few new bits in there, and that's cool for a band who'd been around so long.
So guys. Thank you for this reaction video on Dimmu Borgir. Much appriciated. And th be honest, like your stuff in general. Thank you for that. So, the main reason for this comment is, that I´d like you to do a reaction video or just give a few minutes to a band called Old Man´s Child. And why is that? The guitarrist on Dimmu Borgir, the bald one with that weird grin on his face all the time, is the founder of Old Man´s Child. And it is quite similiar to Dimmu, but even more melodic. I bet you guys will love it. A good starting point would be the album called In Defiance of Existence. Just give it a go, if you never have time for it. Have a nice easter and greets from Finland. Keep up the good work!
Old Man's Child is definitely cool, but I feel like it's lacking in other areas besides the guitar work. Galder is amazing on the guitar, but OMC needs more direction for song writing. Still a great band though.
A lot better than the title track: Interdimensional Summit. Dimmu is not a black metal band, they are an extreme metal band: Silenoz and Shagrath own words, which we easily forget, this track is really heavy and that fast part in this song is outstanding good and those guitars in the beginning, wow! Hope the rest of the album got more heavyness and speed }:>
By Indian do you mean South Asian Indian or Native American ? PS this song is absolutely beautiful . I specially love it from 4:35 to the end . My only complaint is its short by at least 2 minutes .
Hi Guys! Would you like check a german melodeath band called "Words of Farewell" ? ... Is one of the most underrated band of the last years. I recommend "Continuum Shift" or " Limit Cycle" ( band playthrough). I hope you have time to check it out. Regards from Chile.
Regarding the video itself and meaning (aside from the music). Eonian is conceptually a spiritually occult album. A breath of fresh air since satanism is done ad nauseum. All four elements are depicted, between the mountains, the oceanic scenes, the grassy plains fluid in the wind, and finally the spinning torches. A big element is the fluidity of time as theyve expressed in their interviews on the album, which is why some of the scenes are played in reverse. Lyrically hes pursuing occult philosophy and practice, great reference to the ocean in the beginning and "Abyss." Water is primarily the most spiritual of the four elements due to its fluidity and changing currents, often represented by Leviathan (the dragon). Through the abyss (endless chasm of primordial inky water, the subconscious mind), knowledge is attained meditatively or through sleep Occult practice would see the symbolism, admittedly it would be lost on those that dont practice, as a scenic music video that lacks meaning. The meaning is there, its nothing absolutely enthralling though haha. Any references to departure, and arrival is gained through departure, is leaving the mundane plane toward the astral. The secret flame, essentially is enlightenment, the inner light of knowing and being. The inner spark (luciferian and prometherian reference) That being said, musically, i like it. Alice in chains intro, Galders fetish with his guitar lmao. I understand without vortex a choir is necessary for clean passages, i think the middle interlude became slightly redundant vocally. Thankfully saved by Galder in true Galder fashion. (Btw, when the fuck is a new Old Mans Child ever gonna be released??) Good track, catchy, melodic as fuck and the keys reminisce older dimmu a bit. It appears as though they were trying to channel enthrone at certain points, but evolved. Good reaction though!!
Please react to: DECAPITATED - Earth Scar, Batushka - Litourgiya (songs from the album), Mgla - Exercises in futility (songs from abum), Hell-Born - Darkness, Vader - Sword Of The Witcher
I remember them reacting dimmus progenies of the great apocalypse years ago. And to them it was unknown or new band. But this song is nothing compared to that.
This song is great , a little more back to older sounding Dimmu in the middle ! 2 for 2 in my eyes, albeit quite different sounding songs. Album is looking very promising !

el primer sencillo me hizo perder las esperanzas .pero con esta canción ( se que no es tan Dimmu ) pero esperaré a escuchar todo el album ( está rola es difícil pero me gusta )
Hey, good job guys. I know you've done a couple of Iced Earth songs already before going to the concert, but could you do Travel in Stygian? From Alive in Athens preferably, because...Barlow (well also i'm Greek so i got a soft spot for that live album). Iced Earth is one of my favorite bands and that song i believe is underapreciated (kind of) by younger Iced Earth fans. Also would be cool if you guys checked out Rotting Christ some time (if you're wondering about the name, they are just against all religion/churches, not satanists), they are the biggest Greek metal band (by far). Keep up the good work and have fun.

They are repeating the same bunch of riff with different effects or ways to play it, but the notes behind are very similar or the same. For an expectation of 8 years, it's very disappointing. You should do Gateways live with the Norwegian Radio Symphony and Choir. That whole concert is a blast!
I think the song is quite good, but I still miss ICS Vortex' vocals. That being said, I highly recommend Borknagar - Winter Thrice ;)
I second Winter Thrice!
Very good song. They should definitely hear it!
I agree with that as well. I tred to have someone else react to Winter Thrice and it got blocked for copyright.
Since you guys are going to see Cradle of Filth I suggest:
Cradle of Filth - Her Ghost in the Fog
Cradle of Filth - From the Cradle to Enslave
Cradle of Filth - Principle of Evil Made Flesh
That's a good one too
Halloween ||
Omg also Tearing The Veil From Grace
Next by Dimmu Borgir: "Underground Business Lunch", "Crabs and Spiders Winter Retreat" & "Noonish Board Meeting of Souls".

Best song from Dimmu , i have seen them live they are AWESOME. But im more for Septicflesh they and goijira are my faves.
I really liked that song! Very good! 🤘😀🤘
I think you should try a Chrome Division video to see another face of Dimmu Borgir's vocalist Shagrath , pretty sure you would like it
I suggest Nemecic by rotting christ. This band started and is still holding the weight of the greek black metal sound. Which is very different
May take a few listens to win me over, not really my thing, but in saying that, they are as always showing their versatility as musicians, great reaction guys

Wow es Português ? Raro encontrar por aqui . Adoro este som dos Dimmu Borgir ! A espera do novo álbum sem dúvida ! Vou subscrever :) \m/

Awesome videos! Keep them up! This new Dimmu track is really solid, one of their best in over a decade in my opinion

You should react to The Kovenant - Bizarre Cosmic Industries.. Another Norwegian band from 1998
Arkona - Liki Bessmertnykh Bogov
it's a pity Mustis left the band... i fucking love how he compused all the orchestra in dimmu
A lot better than the title track: Interdimensional Summit.
