    Lyrics: Interdimensional Summit
    Mired in illusion
    Lost in the masters game
Silenced by the idea of time
    Nurtured with lies and deceit
    The silent seeker, the seer
    Travels beyond the veil
    The silent seeker, the seer
Fleeing the dense womb of ignorance
    To the trained eye
    There are no coincidences
    The more you see
    The less it makes sense
    To the trained eye
    There are no coincidences
    If you can not see
    You can not truly know
We are the current sum of all the ages
Leaving a trail of burnt pages
    Thrown into darkness as stars
    We travel alone as one
When the dust settles on the tavern
Is when we're liberated from illusion
Taking our first and final breath
Realizing life is always after death
    Mired in illusion
    Lost in the masters game
Silenced by the idea of time
    To the trained eye
    There are no coincidences
    The more you see
    The less it makes sense
    To the trained eye
    There are no coincidences
    If you can not see
    You can not truly know
    The silent seeker, the seer
    Travels beyond the veil
    The silent seeker, the seer
Fleeing the dense womb of ignorance

Dimmu is so good at balancing classical and metal together. They are pretty much the best at doing this. See Mourning Palace. This song is just another example.

Awesome, you're doing another Norwegian band! Dimmu are Legends, and they never have been closer to melodic powermetal than right here. To me it sounds like a hybrid between Nightwish and modern Dimmu with a pinch of Blind Guardian. I belive the New album will be diverse and probably in the same vein as Abrahadabra. Never been so exited for a Dimmu album though, look forward to this one!

I thought, let me check for some of my older favorite bands and 1st one I searched was Dimmu Borgir. This turned out to be one of my favorite Dimmu Albums, still on my playlist to this day. They are legends and have some eternal greats that never get old!

I hate Most of everything Dimmu-related, but I agree that this might actually be the best thing they've done in a loong time, if ever. But I'm still not totally feeling this, but it doesn't make me want to turn it off, unlike Enthrone Darkness Triumphant for example.

Sturmgesell awwww, did I strike a nerve? Nothing in music is "original" anymore. Someone somewhere wrote the riff or melody that you think you created long before you. You can pull your elitist head out of your ass and properly fuck off, yea?

    @lordbaylay 6 лет назад +2

I'm sold on that album already. I really enjoyed their live BluRay 'The Forces of the Northen Night'. Yes, they have gone away from 'classical' black metal, but I love it, it's melodic, catchy, but retaining the darkness and choirs I love Dimmu for.
As for your reaction, I do enjoy when you do breakdowns of instruments, tempos, melody etc. especially here, each of these elements deserves a mention. Wonder if going forward you should start talking about the lyrics a bit too, it's a big part of the song.
As a recommendation for the channel growth, I like the direction you are going in, I much prefer new reactions to some older ones, if you would like to please do check out guys from @lostinvegas they have some time ago done a reaction for Jinjer song that you too reacted to, and the substance of their commentary is really good, could be interesting for you to compare your vids, as going forward I do see this channel growing a lot :)

Never really heard Dimmu Borgir or much symphonic metal before, but that really was an awesome track, I feel like after the quiet sections they really could have roared the whole band and orchestra in to have a really awesome counter-action of the softer parts, but overall a great song!

After Mustis and ICS Vortex departure ,Dimmu Borgir kinda missed the cool balance between symphonic metal and black metal
The song is good, but Vortex clean vocals would be more adequate to the chorus rather than the choir, his voice was at the same time melodical and heavy
Mustis arrangements were also integral to the sound, they weren't there simply a gimmick along the other instruments, they were it´s own thing , atmospheric , deep
I hope the rest of the album can deliver the old Dimmu

Strong goth vibe to this one - largely due to the choral melody in the chorus - seems like they got their Sisters of Mercy on - but it's a good song in it's own way - different from anything they've done previously, but with a couple of familiar elements as well - the guitar harmonies near the end of the track remind a little of Puritanical era Dimmu - but (and with no disrespect to Daray), I'd have loved to have heard what Nick Barker would have done for the drums for this track.

Dimmu Borgir is my favorite band, this song sure has alot of typical dimmu elements. But its not what i expected and i'm not 100% sure what i think about the nightwish elements. Where is the double bass drum (except for the chorus)? I really hope the other songs are faster and harder. But yet this still is an amazing song and the more i listen to it the more i like it.
As expected Dimmu is ever evolving. I was kinda hoping they did something closer to Enthrone Darkness triumphant mixed with the new styles. But as said.. its still great.

That guitar tone is top drawer and I love how heavy the riff is. Dimmu has always been about the music, first and foremost, so I don't mind following them with regards to new musical directions. Their older stuff is obviously quality, and they did go through a sort of creative slump, but this is energetic and exciting. I'm more than willing to give it a chance.
For all those folks who insist that they're not Black Metal enough: I think you forget that art is antithetical to tribalism. Allow artists to explore their creativity and let it take them wherever they feel like. Going on about how they've failed the Black Metal purity test and should no longer be considered part of the club just exposes you as a tribalist. Art is supposed to remind us of our better selves.
