@@butterworthboys4985you said it yourself, it’s the most in demand TV show, what do you think licensing fees are like? The companies that want to make good games without creative restriction create their own new ideas and companies out for a cash grab pay the expensive licensing fee and then vomit out low budget garbage to try and capitalize on the demand. What they should do is just do an Project X Zone style anime cross over game. They are all sent to this world and the games original villain plans to destroy all of their worlds type of story. The game play should be Project X Zone type of RPG, where you can still do combos and tag moves but still being it's own RPG.

@@nicholase82For some reason? There's plenty of reasons no one wanted Jump Force. It was a trash fighting game, the mechanics were broken, the animation was trash and the only good thing about it was the amount of characters and customization you could do. Everyone was on Jump Force because of the characters but when all of that hype died down they saw what kind of game it really was. No one wanted a game like that. Please don't put all "anime" into one bag. Let's call it what it is, shonen games, no anime games, because if you call those kind of games anime games (generalization) you insult Visual Novel, and some of JRPG's audience, or people who watch other anime genres. With shonen games is the same problem like with for example musou games - if you played one, you played all of them. And similar situation is with watching shonens.

I think the problem with anime games is that they pick anime that is not complete and the take advantage of the popularity to keep making new games as new content comes out for the anime. I agree that some of them are monotonous but if they didn't come as often as they do we would probably like them better and support it. Dragon ball fighter z is a great start for them to look at maybe a naruto fighter would be awesome or a jump force in that style.

2023 really changed my perception of Bandai Namco, but THIS, this right here really drove the point home! It took me this long to realize that their a company full of money-grubbing, half-headed, underachievers! During the turn of the decade all they've done on their own was nickel-diming their customers with all these half-assed licensed anime IPs and very little care towards own og IPs. No quality remasters or remakes. Their only big win currently was Elden Ring, and FromSoft really did the hard work for them! They need others developers to save them! Meanwhile companies like Square Enix & Capcom succeeded on their own merits with much higher quality original IPs. Bamco truly deserves to fail like this!

I have to be honest in my opinion Bandai Namco is one of my least favorite publishers in Japan all they do mostly is make trashy anime licensed games and not more original games. They make good games but in terms of effort tekken feels like the only franchise they put the most resources into and everything else feels like they don’t like their original RPGs imo. Tales of arise I really liked but if you compare them to other RPGs like final fantasy, xenoblade, dragon quest and like a dragon it’s night and day. Scarlet Nexus I enjoyed also but that felt it got the least budget possible I have no problem with AA like games but it just felt noticeable they cut corners with it. But in general I want Bandai to make more original RPGs in general and not anime games and I would like for them to put more resources into them imo.

There is nothing bad with a well done arena fighter, key words well done, look at the ps2 tenkaichi series, with some mechanics that make it quite entertaining and good, but after some Naruto games being arena games where only pressing one button does everything and the rest is amazing flashy things, the devs start to think that is only what people like and then take other big anime names and plaster the same thing in them with strange gimmicks, like mha's figting in the walls, instead of thinking things properly like fighterz did and make more 2D fighting games with awesome cellshading graphics and good combo mechanis, they go for the low hanging fruit, wich is why it became stale, boring and predictable to fail.
Hope these cancellations mean we will get good quality anime games in the future, still waiting for a one piece fighting game.
Also, another thing you mentioned, why does anime games have always needed to be fighting games?, can't we get more rpgs or the like, Kakarot was a good success and well, one piece odyssey was enjoyable, whats wrong with doing it too for other anime series.

Nah, Raging Blast 2 and the Ultimate Ninja Storm series are goated. The one button combos are there for the normies to easily enjoy the game casually while the game has more complex combos and interactions if you want to get competitive, at least for the Ultimate Ninja Storm games. Raging Blast 2 was great for its huge roster and immersive gameplay with the transformations, destructible environments, and animation. Unfortunately the Ultimate Ninja Storm Games aren’t known for consistently good online, but the single player story mode experience are also amazing.
But that’s not to say these games are not starting to fall off. Ninja Storm 4 and it’s recent rerelease doesn’t have the same quality story mode as the previous games, and the balancing for the rerelease is messy on top of not having all the basic online features that it should have like being able to play with friends.
Anime arena fighters aren’t innately bad because they are arena fighters, old ideas can be constantly refined and be made better than the last. The problem is that these games aren’t getting better, and in some cases get worse, just to be left with shallow content and no significant updates after release.

If Bandai Namco were going to make another game with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, they should hire Platinum Games for a game based on Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable.
Imagine the gameplay similar to Astral Chain but set in a fully-explorable version of Morioh. You partake through the story of Part 4 as Josuke and friends with the most adrenaline-pumping action that only Platinum Games can bring.

The fact that there’s no RPG Naruto game by now is a crime. There was a fake Naruto game on Facebook back in the day that allowed you to create your own ninja. It let you decide what Justus you wanna learn, bloodlines (Kekei Gen Kai), Tai jutsu, Genjutsu, PvP, co-op, etc. It mirrored the part 1 story but still it was something I enjoyed. Honestly I thought a game like that but on a bigger scale would be an easy slam dunk for Bandai Namco. I’m sorry but we’re at a point rn where the arena fighters need to die. My Hero Ultra rumble has EXTREMELY positive reception outside of some of its Gacha mechanics - No reason to spread misinformation on games you haven’t played lol.
Anime game’s (especially Bandai & CC2 ones) have earned their own bad rep, but you gotta give credit where it’s due.

Unfortunately, I doubt Bandai Namco is gonna be more serious with anime games. I bet once they cancel those game, we gonna see Bandai Namco make mobile gacha anime games lol.

1st comment! 😁I’ve never liked these types of games. There is no reason to play them. When I did play them there was no reason to continue playing them. They aren’t as rewarding as RPG’s are.
If they are gonna do it they need to do it like the latest Dragon Quest Dai game did it. That keeps you wanting to play it because of the RPG elements and growth.
