Well it is implied that he is anti semtic and is a Nazi sympathizer and a Neo Nazi as he defends Nazi Germany and ww2. In addition his grandfather was a train conductor at Auschwitz thus implying that he was probably anti semtic and may have transported countless innocent people possibly as many as hundreds of thousands or even over a million people to the Auschwitz concentration camp where over 1.1 million of them including a million innocent Jewish people were killed thus making him complicit in their deaths. This video has made me genuinely consider Klaus’ psychology. So I think when he was human he was a decent, intelligent guy, but Elsa’s betrayal + losing the Olympics + losing his body + being forcibly trapped in a fish in a small bowl with limited movement options + being forced to live with a family that ignore/bully/take out their problems on him all greatly degraded his mental health, to the point he's more selfish, miserable, mean, impulsive, stupid, creepy even, all to cope with it. From the therapy episode, we see that on some level, he wants to help and cares about the Smiths by being their therapist and call out Roger for his bad advice. But they still disrespect/ distrust him, leading Klaus to fall back into his rash, bad decisions to get what he wants by spreading all of their personal secrets, only making things worse and leading the Smiths to dispise him more. Dan the Man said Jeff was the most tragic character, but at least Jeff got to live happily with his wife and be positive despite what he went through. With Klaus, he remains stuck in his situation, always doomed to eventually ruin whatever good things come his way from his own stupid decisions, selfishness, and misery. We see the Smiths dislike him time and again even though Roger has consistently done worse things than he's ever done (heck, Roger’s the whole reason Jeff’s story happened in the first place). It's likely because Roger can defend himself and could greatly harm them if he wants, but Klaus is trapped in his frail goldfish body, so he's an easy target. In the end, Klaus is in my opinion the true most tragic character of American dad. He's a prisoner, a victim that was screwed over and wronged, but eventually degraded into his own worst enemy. Okay NOW we want to hear your German accent. Speaking of accents, in the German dub Klaus actually had a Saxon accent. Fun fact, there are two Frankfurts in Germany and he couldn't possibly have studied at either city: The Frankfurt that had a university in the eighties is in the west and the one in the east only had one founded in 1991 after 180 years of no uni whatsoever. There's also a popular campfire song that claims the reason there are two Frankfurts is because it's actually just one city but really really really huge. Anyone interested in more stupid Germany facts just ask.
When thinking of Klaus, I always think of the time he gave Stan a pep-talk by saying how Nicolas Cage never gave up making a good movie, and finally did it with National Treasure 2. Needing to type “Niklaus!” In the comments really made me think of it, too.
When a bunch of kids play football regularly, it is fairly often for one kid to never get the ball. Despite them being a decent player, in an open position, etc, the other kids just won't pass it to him for whatever reason. When he does get the ball (once every fourth game if that) he can only hold onto it for 2 seconds before everyone else barrels down on him and he's forced to pass it away. When this happens and he does get the ball, he's learnt to "live fast die young". Either guard it with your life or boot it just cause you finally can. I know this because I was that kid and I see that in Klaus. Whenever Klaus gets the spotlight he has to make the most of it. Klaus has to scoff down every scrap. When he gets a human body he has to indulge it while he can. If he played his cards right & played for the long game, he'd be able to make the best of a bad situation. He'd probably be human again but because of being trapped as a fish & spat on daily, he cannot escape the viscious cycle. It's really dark. I can't blame him for how he is, even if he is mean because the circumstances kind of pushes him towards that.
Mused and Abused shows that Klaus is his own worse enemy. While it is easy to dismiss and/or bully him he is incredibly entitled and annoying so even when you do treat him better he ultimately ruins it. I see it as a combination of everything kitty said. The smiths originally just dismissed him as a talking fish stan brought home, but the longer he stayed there the more they opened up to him only to realize he’s Klaus once he’s finally welcomed as a member of the family. You can’t give an inch with Klaus because he would take a mile. Look at what happened when steve let him sleep in his room. Stan comes across more as the shows designated lightning rod then Klaus as kitty stated the whole family falling apart when he’s gone was played for comedy when done with Klaus but it is consistedly played for drama with stan. Stan can’t five minutes to read a book without his family killing themselves through sheer stupidity.
I mean, he's in a fish body. No wonder he's bitter and salty. I kinda thing that's justified why he's like that. He holds a lot of deep hatred over the fact that he's a useless fish now. If you think about it... all the characters from American dad are justified for the way they are. Stan with his possible trauma from his job and his childhood trauma, wanting to be the head of every discussion because he needs to take charge. Also not to mention, but his colegues are also as immature as he is. Possibly for the same reason. Francine trying to be a good mother, but secretly wanting to be her own person. Also the fear of losing her loved ones. Hailey for trying to be the rational one but hides deep insecurites because of her father. Fighting the system but in reality could be an excuse to fight her own father, because he works with the system. Steve for being immature but having his own qualites as being pretty smart. Sometimes even lecturing his own father. But unable to fit his father dreams even if he tries but always being called weak by him. And Roger a literal psychophat addicted to any substance known by man. Maybe his character could be due to his substance abuse. And let me tell ya, if you would have the chance to live among humans for that long as Roger i think you'll be there too. Because he can't die and is ptobably the most fun he has when he's under the influence. Everything becomes predictable and monotone after a while.
I like the fish when he doesn't do excessively stupid stuff. But overall, what really can he do without being giving some form of body? Probably a robot body. With the goldfish bowl at chest level, with no head.
I don't get why the cia would switch his brain when they could have just drug him and made him miss the Olympics. They should at least cut him a break and out his body in the body of a cat, so he can walk around.
11:20 bruh, if I was in that situation, I’d have knocked out stan and FLED. Gotten as far away as possible before the status quo could trap me again, and lived the quietest most remote life possible.
What I didn’t understand with Klaus, they changed his past design. Klaus original looked human opposite the fish face, the second design looked like the fish
We really needed more episodes for klaus and his tragic backstory :/ 1/2 episodes legit wasent enough. I want a full spin off in dramatic fashion about his journey
You: (Explaining the backstory of a talking cartoon fish) Also you: "After World War 2, Germany was split into two by the Allies. West Germany was under the authority of the United States..."
The punching bag title is like the Brand of Sacrifice from Berserk. Malevolent forces and general malice will always seek them out regardless of if they're an asshole or not.
So in conclusion, Klaus is equivalent to that one kid in school that said “no matter what I do, nobody wants to be friends with me” and once you do, you realize how much of a shitty person they are
It makes no sense. Roger is 10 times worse than Klaus and the smiths dont hate him. (Yes hes hilarious) But still, theres no reason why Roger, judged by actions would be loved and Klaus would be hated😅
A smaller fish is probably better to hold than a larger fish because with the bigger ones you have to hold their gills or mouth (it's been a while since I last fished)
why...would you have to hold their gills or lungs? That doesn't do anything if a fish isn't in water....it already can't breathe. Its not like breathing straight air is what hurts it...its the lack of air in water that does it. Since that is how their lungs work, they still breathe oxygen
I don't think they hate him they just love picking on him. However I do find it weird how so many of you are blaming him the actual victim here. The CIA, the smiths, and Roger are all in the wrong here. Klaus is a victim people.
The camp was named auschwitz bc thats what the german name for the town that was in, so technically the town still exist but it returned to the old polish name
I don’t think that they hate Klaus. I think that Klaus, just like Meg from Family Guy, is the Smith family’s buffer. It was proven in the episode where he fakes his death and puts his mind in the body of a nun, that without Klaus to take out their aggression on, that the Smith family would self destruct, just like the Griffin’s. Basically what I’m saying is that the Smiths hate each other, and take it out on Klaus. Is Klaus annoying as hell. Yes. Yes he is. But if we compare Roger and Klaus, then Roger is way more annoying than Klaus is. Hell, Roger has done more things to the Smith family that he would deserve the hatred from them more than Klaus. 😊
Because that show needed their own Meg. I never watched the Cleveland Show, but I'm almost sure, that this shows also has their own butt monkey as well.
growing up watching this, i never realised they had a problem with him but until i watched it with someone else (my boyfriend) he mentioned how they hate him and now that’s all i notice
Not too much a fan of American Dad’s modern dark humor. Sometimes they go way too far, to the point of being greatly disturbing to horrifying. This earlier clip of Stan dangling Klaus over the shredder to the disposal, dropping him in it, Klaus hanging on for dear life, all the while Stan and Francine make out and the kids come to watch after hearing Klaus’ screams for help and the whole family laughs at Klaus’ misfortune? WAY TOO FUNNY. :)
For some reason Seth McFarlane’s writing goon squad needs to have at least one character to be a punching bag. Very poor writing. Unfortunately, both Family Guy and American Dad went to blazes.
No Weddings and a Funeral>>>>>>>> Seahorse Seashell Party. No Weddings had more going on and the plot was wackier. Seahorse was really boring and the family was stuck in the house the whole time. It reminds me of the Tom and Jerry episode where Tom left and Jerry missed him.
22:06 That comment made no literally no sense. Communism is literally all about sharing (and yes, I know that's an oversimplification but the point still stands that it's certainly not about keeping everything to oneself). As such, it makes perfect sense for an East German children's show to teach the value of sharing.

There's also a popular campfire song that claims the reason there are two Frankfurts is because it's actually just one city but really really really huge.
Anyone interested in more stupid Germany facts just ask.
Sure! Give me more stupid German facts!
Klaus isn't evil. He's just German and strongly implied to be fond of a certain political movement
Being fond of that certain political movement does make him evil though.

When thinking of Klaus, I always think of the time he gave Stan a pep-talk by saying how Nicolas Cage never gave up making a good movie, and finally did it with National Treasure 2. Needing to type “Niklaus!” In the comments really made me think of it, too.
I liked more Ghostrider. Each with their own i guess. And since is Stan, i can understand why he picked that one.
Roger is a psychopath, so stan likes him because he is willing to do "plans" with him. He even kill a baby and other people for 20 dollars😅
I guess they literally turned Klaus into the new Meg. 😂
meg is family guy, klaus is american dad
ruclips.net/video/5qdFnomL34I/видео.html ( ͡👁 ͜ʖ ͡👁)
at least with klaus people in the family love him a bit more than meg
Now you can't really give klaus faults knowing that roger always screws over the family or be a jerk to them or always almost killing them
Mused and Abused shows that Klaus is his own worse enemy.
*GASP* “HAPPY HOUR” another quote that’s been rent free in my head for years 🤣
I like the fish when he doesn't do excessively stupid stuff. But overall, what really can he do without being giving some form of body? Probably a robot body. With the goldfish bowl at chest level, with no head.
Niklaus! At this point, has Klaus been a fish longer than he was a human?
I don't get why the cia would switch his brain when they could have just drug him and made him miss the Olympics. They should at least cut him a break and out his body in the body of a cat, so he can walk around.
15:24 I don't know why you wrote it into the script but I can appreciate a good Chicago reference

You: (Explaining the backstory of a talking cartoon fish)
Also you: "After World War 2, Germany was split into two by the Allies. West Germany was under the authority of the United States..."
I disagree with the episode about sharing. It probably wouldn’t be in the real show, but the Smiths probably made it up.
The real episode was either blocked or deleted, so the smiths made one up
@@connornoiles2447 Even if it wasn’t they would lie and make up this fake episode. It’s very in character.
Can someone explain why Brian talks?does he have a broad backstory like Klaus or it just kinda..happens
He was born a talking dog. WE get a whole track down his mom episode.
How come they can't just clone klaus's body since they manage to clone President Garfield and made him the new mayor ?
The punching bag title is like the Brand of Sacrifice from Berserk. Malevolent forces and general malice will always seek them out regardless of if they're an asshole or not.

ive been rewatching and they throw his god damn tank so many times
Klaus is pretty much of the Meg of the show
Yeah, but Klaus deserves it way more than Meg.
So in conclusion, Klaus is equivalent to that one kid in school that said “no matter what I do, nobody wants to be friends with me” and once you do, you realize how much of a shitty person they are
But wait, he can't shut up about how awesome he is and how lucky you are that he chosed you as his friend.
is that person stuck in a fishes body for almost how many years
Yes when you have that ah ha moment 😂 you are the damn problem
stan was also grateful for roger saving him and vise versa.
It makes no sense.
Roger is 10 times worse than Klaus and the smiths dont hate him.
(Yes hes hilarious)
But still, theres no reason why Roger, judged by actions would be loved and Klaus would be hated😅
I think they’re afraid of Roger and that’s why they just accept his behavior.

I honestly don’t know why Stan think that he’s a Nazi or believes in the beliefs of Nazis just because he lives in that country
Klaus is definitely a nazi. He's said nazi stuff before without any form of irony.
Well it is understandable why Stan thinks that Klaus is a Nazi. Klaus has been known to have made anti semtic comments in several episodes.
Thanks for letting me know. I’m fairly new to family guy and American dad, so I haven’t watched that many episodes.
@@extremeactionstudio4285 you are welcome.
I think the reason the Smiths hate Klaus is because they are Stuck with him and he sometimes deserves what’s he gets.
I love your little character and your style of video Kitty
Not really
It was Cleveland

but seriously looking forward to this especially the confusing yet awesome no weddings and a funeral
Klaus is the zoidberg of American Dad
Klaus be getting that Meg treatment
For some reason Seth McFarlane’s writing goon squad needs to have at least one character to be a punching bag. Very poor writing. Unfortunately, both Family Guy and American Dad went to blazes.
24:24 Klaus wasn't invited to the roast and Roger bluntly told him it is because he hates him. Not out of spite but as a fact.
Awww you made me a special video for my birthday that is so sweet ;p
The point about the fish jacking on Francine is the same as Roger trying to get with Stan. They’re all messed up
No Weddings and a Funeral>>>>>>>> Seahorse Seashell Party. No Weddings had more going on and the plot was wackier. Seahorse was really boring and the family was stuck in the house the whole time. It reminds me of the Tom and Jerry episode where Tom left and Jerry missed him.
Please do a Dexter's Lab video? That show is one of my favorites.
I haven't seen Hedwig since it came out, and you're the only person to ever mention it since.

I just want him to get a proper tank with a filter instead of a crappy bowl that you should never use with a fish and well to not be treated like crap

That comment made no literally no sense.
Communism is literally all about sharing (and yes, I know that's an oversimplification but the point still stands that it's certainly not about keeping everything to oneself).
As such, it makes perfect sense for an East German children's show to teach the value of sharing.
I've been scrolling forever to find this comment 🙂
