The Anorexia episode is 100% my favourite episode! I love how it's Stan that has to deal with it and the twist is so good. I also really love how the episode is still funny yet they take it seriously!! Also, Debbie is one of my favourite characters in the whole series. I wish her and Steve were still together
I just hate that Debbie disappeared after she broke up with Steve, her character was great, and didn’t deserve to go the way as the borderline gimmicky Reginald.
@Popcultureguy3000 yeah, I agree. It made sense why they stopped having Reginald appear, but Debbie was so interesting!! Genuinely Seths best female character
Reginald barely had any good jokes. It’s a lot like why they removed Terry. Greg is much more enjoyable single than with Terry who is just kind of a total nothing burger. I totally get why they wrote Terry off in an offhand comment, and Reginald doesn’t appear anymore.
This episode made me realize how good America dad is compared to family. When i first watch this episode i caught it late and the dude was yelling at Stan to stop listening to his family. When he faded away saying Bro i was caught off guard. I didn't know what was going on.
Having dealt with bulimia as a man myself, I love The American Dad Afterschool Special. It’s nice to see men with that issue represented in the media and it was handled well for a Seth McFarlane project.
I’ve never seen the mean goth girl stereotype. In my experience, alt kids are always the best because they know how horrible it is to be treated as an outcast.
Ironically I’ve encountered my share of mean girl goths. But then again I’m from SoCal and the goth scene was invaded by yuppies and trust fund adult brats who graduated high school and college and lost their identities after that.

Ooh i think a good Haley episode can be about how she and Stan get along and how similar they really are. Despite their different viewpoints, they're a lot alike, especially when they're competitive.
Son of a gun I posted a comment wondering if Hailey is truly Stan’s foil! Also suggested if Hailey and Jeff’s relationship is actually functional or not.🥲
I like that, but I also wanna do episodes. Where is Haley activism seems to be half ass at most likely episode where Francine makes apple pies and Haley disgusted by that idea because I need some to the house wife idea, but it’s revealed that she is the one who always beat her while dress like a 50s housewife
During that episode where she marries Klaus to keep him from being taken out of the country, I could only think about how she was operating on pure Stan-logic(which was the funniest part for me).
My grandmother had Gigantomastia. My whole life as a kid, until I had a DD as a nine year old, I thought that she was just overweight with skinny arms and legs; becasue her breasts went down to her waist. She had a hump in her spine from the weight, and she had to put pads under the bra straps to keep them from cutting into her. It's really a condition that people don't have enough sympathy for. I did not have the same issue, but I ended up with a 32 I (32 inches around my ribs and a little over 41 inches around my chest, at 5'4".), and I have permanent chronic pain from the weight pulling on my spine between my shoulder blades. I really wish that people would see the reality of what having giant breasts is for women, instead of cheering it on or making it the butt of their jokes.
@@SupHapCak In the US, it was not covered by insurance, when I was in my 20s. That has changed now, but they don't judge it on whether you and your doctor think that it is beneficial to you medically. They judge it on whether or not you will have more than a specific amount of weight removed. There have been times where doctors get in there and find out that there is not enough tissue to remove the exact amount that the insurance company wants (or one breast is large enough but the other is slightly smaller), so they have added solution (I guess, saline, but I'm not sure.) to be able to say that they're then removing enough, just so the insurance will pay for it. My breasts are still large enough that they're causing my back pain from fibromyalgia and a back injury to be affected daily, but my breasts aren't quite big enough to meet the insurance company's weight, so they won't pay for it. It's really ridiculous. It's the same logic where medical insurance doesn't pay for dental care, even though it is part of your body and can have serious impact on your entire body.
The anorexia twist blew my mind But my favorite is probably clone Steve or that episode where it's revealed that The entire show takes place in a It's a wonderful Life alternate reality. That was hilarious.
One notable twist I can think of is from the episode "Crotchwalkers", where that one store in the mall, "The Gash", has a...unique way of dealing with shoplifters.
29:29 refeeding syndrome generally manifests as intense nausea before you get to the bigger symptoms, so he might loose his bread but he won’t pass out or need the ER or anything (I have a nasty history with food and under eating only to get sick when I finally do eat is something I’m well versed in)
Hailey and Stan are the two main characters that Seth started with Stan isn't a horrible father just he had a horrible father so he has no one to find guidance from
That ending of Old Stan on the Mountain where he breaks the hex but turns into a black guy and he says “it was at the T-Mobile store and it was not positive.” There are so many other insane twists on this show i can name too like: 1. Stan’s mom wanting to kill Tom Yabo instead for the insurance money of it being the other way around. 2. Francine’s family killing each other in Family Plan with plenty of blood and gore to go around. 3. Out of nowhere in American Fung, the family dancing with Chinese Mickey Mouse. It was out of left field even for this show! 4. That lady getting burned to death with the lion still going after her and then Stan slowly closing the door as if nothing happened. 5. That time Stan and Francine wanted to get rid of Tungi, so they just left him in their SUV as it was still moving only for them to suddenly want him back and say they miss him. 6. White Principal Lewis and black version of Steve driving off the cliff and Roger’s love keeping the original Lewis and Steve up in the air only for them to crash into each other! 7. The ending of Frannie 911 where Stan got to beat the ever loving crap out of Roger. Not every day he gets comeuppance for being such a sociopath on this show! 8. Francine throwing Roger off the cliff and him yelling “I got the car keys in my pocket you stuppppppid biiiiiiitch!” 😂 9. The whole ending of Rabbit Ears enough said. That was a whole twist in itself. 10. The way Badonkin Donuts caught on fire in the first place and how Steve reacted to it. 11. The way they revealed that Hayley found out she was dating Bill, Stan’s body double and all the gags in that episode centered about Francine’s disgust over it and how Hayley ended up burning the whole forest! 12. Charlotte tricking Steve and his friends into doing construction work for her and how they all ended up being gay in their adult years. Just to name a bunch.
This episode always stood out to me. I was probably 10 years old when I first saw it and the twist genuinely surprised me.. like I felt so uneasy about it for some reason. It was like genuinely shocking.
I forgot about Debbie and the fact there was more than one episodes of her and Steve as a couple before they broke up. Wish she was a more reoccurring character and potential will be or won’t be episodes.
Eh, actually... I think you're remembering it wrong. I believe there were 4 episodes about them. 1. This one: They date, they break up. 2. The one about Francine feeling threatened by the relationship: They date, they break up. 3. The one about running for school president: They date, they break up. 4. The heist episode: They date, they break up. There might've been more but those two only interacted in episodes focused on them, where they'd break up by the middle or end. 1 had Steve dumping her on the phone, 2 wasn't shown on screen but Steve cried about it, in 3 Debbie dumped him because he lied to her and 4 she dumped him for his immaturity
Food graveyards smell horrible... like death, legit. This is honestly one of my favorite episodes because the twist feeds in so perfectly to Stan's mental illness.
My top five favorite twists: -Mama and Baa-ba being better in-laws to Stan than Francine’s selfish skunk biological parents, The Dawsons -Sidney Huffman (one of Roger’s alter egos come to life) -Stan thinking he is still fat despite being too thin -Stan’s half brother Rusty being super wealthy despite Stan shafting him out of a $20,000 inheritance and sticks him with the other inheritance of vast land on top of a major copper vein. -Roger doing a better job than Stan, only to foul up and Stan saving the day Also, I love wearing makeup, it’s just too expensive for me to wear regularly (off stage). As for gym class in school, our coaches at my schools were very strict and forced us to participate. I live an active lifestyle, so I can justify eating Haagen Daaz without paying the penalty.
Hey, long time sufferer and currently in recovery of anorexia. To answer your question about the weight gain yes. It’s not a lot usually, about five ish pounds give it or take but to someone in the throws of an eating disorder that tends to push people further into restrictive eating. Eventually you’ll hit a stage where you’ll struggle to gain weight back during recovery as you’ve shrunk and damaged your digestive system so much it struggles to take the nutrients from the little food it has the room for. It took me over two years to gain back the weight I lost in six months during one episode with my eating disorder.
They make Langley sound like a tiny little town but with the CIA there, and I guess technically it is because it's a unincorporated area within the Is town of McLean which has a population of 50000 but Fairfax County which is where they are is 1.14 million. I mean it's a suburb of DC so it couldn't be all that small. It's a 30 minute drive into DC during rush hour so it's pretty close
To answer the question towards the end, prolonged periods of starvation run the risk of refeeding syndrome where yes, eating solid food or too much will cause serious health issues as the body has undergone metabolic changes during starvation. However that is more a years of starvation thing like in poor nations, and this is a short term thing Stan did. I'd say his risks are more that his stomach shrank and may not be able to handle a normal amount of food all at once and have to eat more slowly.
Honestly, I have an eating disorder, and hearing someone actually call it up and down slope makes me feel seen, sure I have good days, but then some I can go back, but it is getting better as I recognize what the pain is and how to calm myself down enough to eat. I've had this since 2021 and I know how to deal with it. Honestly btw, they do thin shame people and call you fat at once, it's a crazy world when you battle this hehe.
The twist is one of the best, but can we talk about how horrifically good the cinematography the pool reveal scene is, I remember watching it and thinking it was a better reveal of seeing Stan's ACTUAL body weight.
Spitballing a few episodes for Haley 1. Is Haley a good Ally?: The Roller derby episode she struggles with feeling closed minded about steve exploring gender Also DEVIN! 2.Is Haley a good Activist: You could do the episode where she dyes her hair blond and does like pop activism or the episode where she fakes steves kidnapping so she can get a spot on rogers news station 3.Idk Is Haley a good singer: Just do a musical episode Haley is the great singer but I feel like even klaus gets more songs
worked out the episode you where going to cover from the announcment at the begining but i appricate that you did that as a trigger warning and think it should be the norm actually why i like a demonatised song by disturbed keep up the good work your vidios are always intresting glad to see this one so soon after publishing.
Stan's body would actual go into shock if he ate as much as a one whole roll. Passing on meals wouod leave him with very low carb, salt, and blood sugar levels. Dinner rolls, especially restaurant ones, are high in carbs and sugar with a dash of salt. Fine for us, but for someone recovering like Stan, it's too high for their body to process. Without immediate medical care, he'd diè within minutes.
How about worst/did not age well quotes from American Dad? Or Seth MacFarlane’s best/worst characters he ever played (Ted from Ted, Roger from American Dad, Mike from Sing, etc)?
You know, I wish kids shows these days do an episode similar to this. The moral can be about how too much junk food is bad for you but at the same time, too much exercise is bad for you too.
I have OSFED and I loved the eating disorder episode! I think it was very well done, and the twist was very clever. I still hold it up as a great example
As an overweight person, I have never been a fan of "body positivity". Might be the fact the well has been poisoned by too many activists claiming fatphobia (which I personally have never believed was a real thing) at people, especially plus-size celebrities, even _thinking_ about losing weight. The movement was never to advocate active pursuit of unhealthy lifestyles, it was to build confidence in people for the parts of their bodies they _can't_ change. Honestly at this point I'd advocate to look in the mirror and ask yourself this. Do I see myself looking back at me from the other side of the mirror? If the answer is no, either you need to make some lifestyle changes, you're tripping on the good stuff, or you need to call an exorcist ASAP.
10:47 I think Stan got his "dessert!" alright. He's clearly got a big gut on him. Also... Kitty Monk is WHAT?! (Joke clip that was intentionally taken out of context): ruclips.net/user/clipUgkxYpUi1dbMV_UeHcp7MHmo-oIWoZnry7ps
28:06 “you had me at lasagna” I never said lasagna “well I was thinking about it” is honestly one of my favorite jokes in AD history! I know that as a fat person I probably shouldn’t like this joke but it’s just too funny. I laugh historically every time😂
I didnt even have gym my senior year. It became optional. But then sgain, minus english most classes were optional. Same with math and science. I filled my classes with a mixture of social studies, 3 history classes and carpentry.
One of the worst things you could do with someone that is going through mental health issues is to scheme behind their backs and tell them that their crazy because of thier issue when they notice that youre scheming
I actually suffered this myself, plenty of other things too like parentification or toxic family life, but im okay right? ehe but anyways i really appreciate you delving into this thank youuu
How do you know I know the McDonald's people by name? Get outa my head. Just kidding. I don't think I ever commented on your videos before but I have to say I love them.
Refeeding syndrome can occur after someone has experinced starvation, or in Mr beasts case went a month without eating. Its because upon the lack of food, the body changes entirely how it orocesses things, aiming to make what fat and miscle you have last as long as possible. And eating cakorie dense food like breads, or to much food at once, without doctor supervision can initiate said syndrome and it could be fatal. It was a common occurrence with liberated Holocaust victims, to the point where officers had to order and force their soldiers to stop feeding the victims. Much to th distate of the soldiers, who struggled to look at people made of skin and bones and not give them the foof they onviously qnd desperately needed
One of the breaking points wasnt his weight (even though he accused me of having an issue with it because he had insecurities about it) it was: 1. The way he was treating me (wanted control of me and my limited financials) 2. The fact he saw keeping up on his hygene as "unnecessary". And what im talking about for 2 is the fact he went from decently groomed to having a worse ability to wipe and wash his own butt than a toddler does.
Agreed. The fact we saw the whole episode from Stan's perspective for the first half, and then the sudden shift to his malnourished form was one of the few times a Seth Mcfarlene cartoon bamboozled me as a kid, and it provides a striking visual as to the difference between how Anorexic people feel versus how they actually are.
I don't know about gaining weight from fasting, I've heard the opposite is true. But in cases where people have been starving for a period without eating normally their body will intake and store more nutrients as fat.
You tend to gain weight when you diet because your metabolism goes down when you skip meals, it's better to structure when you're eating than to skip an entire meal. That, and adjusting what you're eating to your level of activity.
kitty i hope you see this but suck/eating ice is a sign of iron deficiency, might wanna get that checked, but i love the videos hope you keep making them for a long time

8. Francine throwing Roger off the cliff and him yelling “I got the car keys in my pocket you stuppppppid biiiiiiitch!” 😂
Mr. Jakvits being an actual undead warlock was a really neat twist from American Dad! in my view
Want a Hailey episode idea? Explore if Stan is indeed the real father or that one dude Francine hooked up with.
This episode always stood out to me. I was probably 10 years old when I first saw it and the twist genuinely surprised me.. like I felt so uneasy about it for some reason. It was like genuinely shocking.
The episode where Stan gets an eating disorder and you can’t change my mind
correct! lmao
WHAT THE BEST TWIST
I think I got two video ideas for Hailey; is her and Jeff’s relationship functional, and is she truly Stan’s foil?
_nothing_ within the same city limits as Jeff is "functional..."
Fun fact, the school teacher from Invader Zim was also voiced by the same actress behind Anastasia from Disney's Cinderella.
Honestly I thought this would be like a top 10 about American dad plotwists
Food graveyards smell horrible... like death, legit.
This is honestly one of my favorite episodes because the twist feeds in so perfectly to Stan's mental illness.
My top five favorite twists:
-Mama and Baa-ba being better in-laws to Stan than Francine’s selfish skunk biological parents, The Dawsons
-Sidney Huffman (one of Roger’s alter egos come to life)
-Stan thinking he is still fat despite being too thin
-Stan’s half brother Rusty being super wealthy despite Stan shafting him out of a $20,000 inheritance and sticks him with the other inheritance of vast land on top of a major copper vein.
-Roger doing a better job than Stan, only to foul up and Stan saving the day
Also, I love wearing makeup, it’s just too expensive for me to wear regularly (off stage). As for gym class in school, our coaches at my schools were very strict and forced us to participate. I live an active lifestyle, so I can justify eating Haagen Daaz without paying the penalty.
"Well i guess I'm more a plus sized woman than you" thanks kitty monk, that was a sentence i never thought I'd say😂
oh my god, i watched this episode today. freaky timing
Topics about Haily: why is she so lazy, why did she married Jeff, her relationship with her dad and is she a copy of Lisa Simpson
“THIS PLACE IS CURSED…..DAMNED…..AND YES YOUR MASTER IS THE DEVIL!
that would be the sadly underrated INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE
The twist is one of the best, but can we talk about how horrifically good the cinematography the pool reveal scene is, I remember watching it and thinking it was a better reveal of seeing Stan's ACTUAL body weight.
Coach Cathy
Basically the same twist as "personal trainer" Zach but really caught me off guard.
I think the biggest twist o Family Guy is the murder mystery episode. You need to do a video on that
"Are you like me Stan, pregnant-" *me,shocked Pikachu face"-with ideas"
Spitballing a few episodes for Haley
1. Is Haley a good Ally?: The Roller derby episode she struggles with feeling closed minded about steve exploring gender Also DEVIN!
2.Is Haley a good Activist: You could do the episode where she dyes her hair blond and does like pop activism or the episode where she fakes steves kidnapping so she can get a spot on rogers news station
3.Idk Is Haley a good singer: Just do a musical episode Haley is the great singer but I feel like even klaus gets more songs
Stan being bald definitely comes to mind lol
I'm El Narco.
When I saw this twist for the first time. I was mad at myself for not seeing it coming. 😂
Not eating isn't the answer. Just eat controlled portions, and exercise regularly.
"you had me at lasagna"
"I didn't say lasagna"
"I was thinking about it."
My girlfriend and I used to say that all the time.
the good Twist I'd did like is when Roger sent Jeff into Space
10:46 have you heard they made the points expire!
Yes, it’s awful!
Debby could have been Steve's Jeff
14:35 That was real!?!? I thought that was just something Robot Chicken made up as a joke
6:58 Derek: “What else is there?”
For a potential video about Hailey, you could do one about how her relationship with Stan or how she’s not that much of an eco activist anymore.
worked out the episode you where going to cover from the announcment at the begining but i appricate that you did that as a trigger warning and think it should be the norm actually why i like a demonatised song by disturbed keep up the good work your vidios are always intresting glad to see this one so soon after publishing.
It is extrenly possible for a kid to use a vent to crawl through I stand on them on roofs and I'm 220lbs
4k subs from a silver plack! Cant wait to see it :)
What's the worst thing Stan has done?
How about worst/did not age well quotes from American Dad? Or Seth MacFarlane’s best/worst characters he ever played (Ted from Ted, Roger from American Dad, Mike from Sing, etc)?
You know, I wish kids shows these days do an episode similar to this. The moral can be about how too much junk food is bad for you but at the same time, too much exercise is bad for you too.
That "join us" joke was top tier 😂❤
Stan is so shallow! Steve said it very well.
I mean this in the least creepy and least Steve Smith creep sounding way but I think kitty looks very pretty
“Debby ❤😂😅😅😅” lol 😂😂😅😊😅!
14:36 This puts that Robot Chicken sketch about her in a new light. 😬
26:01 morbid facts: the pool screen from Poterguise used REAL human skeletons
In Steve’s defense, my favorite food is crab Rangoon, but I wouldn’t be lying if I said I love dessert.
You are loved you are special
Suddenly *"Freddy!!!"* - Roger
*ear piercing scream commences*
One of the worst things you could do with someone that is going through mental health issues is to scheme behind their backs and tell them that their crazy because of thier issue when they notice that youre scheming
I actually suffered this myself, plenty of other things too like parentification or toxic family life, but im okay right? ehe but anyways i really appreciate you delving into this thank youuu
The 100 being all Roger personas
8:08 i...what kind of crème brulée are you eating???
Nice to know I'm not the only one to question that
Bloating when you significantly cut down or stop eating food is real but seems to be possible to mitigate with proper diet and exercise
Okay this is just my $0.02 but no one is ugly or pretty. You are who you are and you should be proud of that I love. I think you look wonamazing 🎉
You have a nice sounding voice.
How do you know I know the McDonald's people by name? Get outa my head. Just kidding. I don't think I ever commented on your videos before but I have to say I love them.
Who doesn't like haagen-dazs and Garfield?
“Intrusive thoughts 💭” lol 😂😅😅😅! ❤
One of the breaking points wasnt his weight (even though he accused me of having an issue with it because he had insecurities about it) it was:
1. The way he was treating me (wanted control of me and my limited financials)
2. The fact he saw keeping up on his hygene as "unnecessary".
And what im talking about for 2 is the fact he went from decently groomed to having a worse ability to wipe and wash his own butt than a toddler does.
14:40 - 14:45 - For some reason I was expecting you to play the clip from the Robot Chicken Punky Brewster sketch.
I would imagine the CIA would have a gym and personal trainer readily available for Stan.
Excited to find out what your research has decided :)
Speaking of Henrietta. She's my official favorite ally on south park The Fractured 😂
Probably my favourite episode
Please do more Venture Bros content. I discovered this video after looking though your back catalog of videis and loved it.
You tend to gain weight when you diet because your metabolism goes down when you skip meals, it's better to structure when you're eating than to skip an entire meal. That, and adjusting what you're eating to your level of activity.
kitty i hope you see this but suck/eating ice is a sign of iron deficiency, might wanna get that checked, but i love the videos hope you keep making them for a long time
No you're right Stan's body could have definitely given in after eating that bread ESPECIALLY because it was bread.
dessert!
yeah I really enjoyed this episode
in some ways Stan Smith is a good and caring Father and Husband way more then Peter Griffin could ever be in the Modern Seasons of Family Guy Sure Stan can be an idiot but has some smarts Peter Griffin is oblivious Idiot
Well skinny was in, doubt it, but right now THICC is in cakes and melon for days!
A few years ago I noticed the episode of Family Guy and the episode of American Dad that follows up have a similar basis every time
"dessert!"
Definitely a fantastic episode!
