Did a quick google, apparently cancer CAN make it difficult or impossible to speak. The cancer can cause Aphasia, aka brain damage which affects the ability to understand speech and often causes slurring. But the cancer itself can also do it by just being in their throat. Also, apparently 'chemo brain' is used by cancer survivors describing memory loss problems before/during/after chemo treatment. ...That explains what happened to my grandma during chemo. No one really told me anything about the cancer or how it was affecting her, so it breaks my heart knowing she was becoming an even more confused, lost old lady due to treatment.
I survived Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer myself and I had the treatments… chemotherapy and radiation treatment therapy… I lost my hair and after it was done I grew my hair back

20:43 I agree that it's a positive change that they didn't let Brian go full-blown atheist asshole in this episode, despite how easy it would have been for them to do that, they let him be more reasonable with his beliefs even though he doesn't agree with the Christian Scientists
I would like to request you let Katherine lead a future episode. She really adds so much to these videos and I feel she should get the recognition she deserves!
I'd so wish they did an episode of Family Guy where Peter becomes a Christian Scientist and helps one of the kids that got sick from disease and not be preachy about it
This episode really helped me as a kid. There were other Christians that believed that my parents were wrong for putting me on ADHD meds. They felt the same about anxiety meds and anti depressants. I always knew they were wrong and my parents always reassured me they were, but i could never articulate WHY. Watching Louis’ monologue at the end literally gave me the words i needed. The fact that access to the medication was itself an answered prayer. I have used it many times with other Christians and I’d say 9/10 times they change their views and get what I’m saying. So Seth may be an atheist but he really helped this Christian out with this one 😅😅

11:58 as much as I like South Park, I do think it succumbs to the golden means fallacy (the idea that the middle ground is always the best option) a lot, in real life it’s very rare for both sides of an issue to be equally wrong and right.
That’s my biggest gripe with South Park, even worse when they make it seem like they’re superior for choosing the neutral middle ground when it’s so rarely like that
@@monroe7532 yeah, in real life, it’s hardly ever 50/50, most of the time it’s like 60/40. Like with abortion, yes not all people want kids, and pregnancy is hard on a woman’s body, but that doesn’t give us the right to kill babies.
Also: Seventh Day Adventists don’t celebrate any special occasions other than the father’s birthday. It’s not the only religion that does this (I know a few sects of Jehovah’s Witnesses do this as well), but in case you were curious that’s a fun fact. My mom’s a teacher and she can’t ask the SDA kids about their birthdays because they don’t even know half the time. Even if they did it’s not celebrated. I don’t know if this is a universal thing about SDA, or if this is a local phenomenon, but regardless there’s that.
Speaking of Leprosy I remember the Simpsons episode where Lisa pranked a lazy Bart & Homer into having leprosy by putting splodges of oatmeal on their skin & painting them green she did this because they did not help around the house because Marge was laid up in hospital with a broken leg.

When they try to use logic against their beliefs it wasn't insulting petty manner but (in a lack of a better way to put this) put puzzle pieces together. Leprosy is really not around much in the US, but is still around is Asia and African. Also, it is a bacterial infection and easily treated with antibiotics, and some people are immune to the bacteria. But again, very rare in US.
My biggest issue with this episode is how the entire town got to the hospital before Lois and Peter. Lois and Peter were already driving towards the hospital when Scotty was discovered missing. So you mean to tell me that Ben and Hope were able to call the police, who in turn called the news stations who then informed the public about this kidnapping all before the griffins could physically reach the hospital? Get out of here...
In this case, i think Lois did the right thing kidnapping Scotty. Even when she was caught. She accepted that she would be arrested afterwards. I obviously don't care if someone believes in God. I mean, i do believe there's some kind of afterlife
i always liked to think joe being wishy-washy as a cop is more a commentary on cops as a whole. they wont do shit if you are being abused but wanting to harm the abuser is going to far etc. etc.
Joe was a decent cop in the earlier seasons. The writers made him more and more depressed and miserable throughout the years - with Bonnie wanting to kiII him and him wanting to kiII himself.
My Dad is exactly like this. one of my siblings has gone insane. He laughs and even screams uncontrollably in his room without interacting to anyone. The first time this happen,we sent him to mental instiution, but my Dumbass father pull him out immediately under the belief "it'll destroy his brain". We sent him back and it took a month for him to recover. But this later return. This time my Dad sent him to the hospital now with the impression that he lost his mind. But he backpabbal when he only gave my brother a two week stay. He thought medication wouldve been enough. I use the whole bottle on him and he shown no signs of improvement. Now all he does is give him prays to drove away the "demonic spirit"
Whats worse is how this been affecting me. His laughters keep me up at night and he eats up most of the food. He hardly takes a shower and sinks up the room. Anytime I tell my Dad he needs to go back,he just screams at me like a toddler "dont tell me what to do!" I swear the next time I ask me again,I aint gonna hold back to scream at him back. This sh!t is ridiculous.

25:29 you know i think I've said this but when i was born my dad said i had purple face for less oxygen and my feet were reversed, until 7 months later my feet were straightened. at the time my mom and dad didn't know God at the time but they prayed and when the doctors removed the cast he said "i never seen anything like this" because some kids lost feet and went back the way they were my dad said "no one can take my son no one" my mom told him "yes God can" and he apologized immediately to her and God. Denying your child medical care because of your religion should certainly be considered abuse, it's even worse if the kid is too young to subscribe to your religion. Even on the religious angle, God gave us this world, it's our job to take care of it and the people in it. Don'tcha think God would not be all too happy if you just let your kid die because you failed to accomplish the thing he entrusted our species to do?
Speaking as a Christian I've had my events happen bad and good events. I had looses and when my mentor was in the hospital twice I've seen her. When she died it hit me hard but in her memory I won't lose my faith in God.
You know there's a famous British book by victoria hislop called "the island" from 2009 that was adapted in a tv show here in Greece about a little island near Crete where they used to send all the lepers until a cure was found in the sixties. Ps I really like your family guy videos, I recently found your channel and the only disagreement I have with you is that you didn't like the meta episode with James woods narrating the bts of family guy, personally it's one of my favourite episodes cause with episodes like this except for the obvious jokes you can explain much plot holes and inconsistencies in writing, plus lampshading to some boring tropes like Peter does another stupid thing😅
You know Seventh-Day Adventists actually have their own hospitals their own schools that they own and their own book stores and grocery stores that they own I can literally see this huge plot of land from where I live that they completely own and they have a hospital a school and a store that they own their they also throw festivals where all the Seventh-Day Adventists come to this particular plot of land and bring their RVs and they have big prayer weeks and bible study weeks where they just spend weeks for the summer camping and studying the Bible the Jehovah's Witnesses on the other hand they turn down a lot of medical treatment specially things like blood transfusions I know these people because I live very close to a lot of Seventh-day Adventist and Jehovah's Witness churches or other things that are affiliated with their Church they're really nice people but I could never turn down medical treatment because I actually have a lot of medical issues I'm actually currently on chemotherapy
God made medication and doctors as an answer to prayers. We were given free will under his power and no where in the Bible does it say god solves all problems. He actually lets you solve them because we are free to do as we please and if he solved everything there would be no tests in our life. So why not use medication?

Just remember that the only time that the following is not apply is prior to when ya look lile an adult/adplescent so to be safe just assume that post elementarh school eg 5th or ,ayne 6th grade or even 8th grade.. is for the rest of life until maybe senility etc.. what you look like/are wearing is what determines if peeps decide they like you or not on first impression in about 15 seconds or so.. so yeah always best to be chewing some chewing gum for sucking on (silently lol def do not do noisily) to have at minimum nice icey sensation to enjoy whenever not eating or drinking or sleeping etc and well yeah. An tru to not think about what/how everyones looking at you and is pictirong whatever you do not want to look lile or have anything to do with or worse... well idk but.. there could be worse thakfully so just remember r36 exists? Ig.. and also forget the crockers rules concept that only applies to yaself in life..
20:43 I agree that it's a positive change that they didn't let Brian go full-blown atheist asshole in this episode, despite how easy it would have been for them to do that, they let him be more reasonable with his beliefs even though he doesn't agree with the Christian Scientists
Honestly.... The fact Lois cared more about kids who aren't her own is what drives me up the wall with these two. It's not the religious aspect
I would like to request you let Katherine lead a future episode. She really adds so much to these videos and I feel she should get the recognition she deserves!
You are not wrong, you have a good point there in fact I agree actually.
I Can't believe Kevin Swanson is so Swanson
If anyone wants to learn more on Christian Scientists I recommend Knowing Better’s video on the subject
i loved little house on the prairie as a child, that's how i started to enjoy farms and nature walks
Ever heard of the 1988 TV Movie “Promised a Miracle”?
@@plawson8577 wasn't that about religious parents who thought prayer would cure their diabetic son.
(Side Note) Has anyone here seen the Ted Prequel Series on Peacock it's really good and funny it has the same humor as the first Ted movie and just as Funny as Family Guy
i appreciate the originals/legacies reference
As someone who had cancer and been through cancer it not a joke when I say the get ya kid to Hospital it saved my life and I was only 2 & 4 when I had it and yes kitty cancer does make you stop talking

As a fellow Scotty it totally never gets old when people want to have you beam them up. Or told that you don’t know.
Nevervmet a stranger that smelt squirrels but i wonder if they love these nuts
Also: Seventh Day Adventists don’t celebrate any special occasions other than the father’s birthday. It’s not the only religion that does this (I know a few sects of Jehovah’s Witnesses do this as well), but in case you were curious that’s a fun fact. My mom’s a teacher and she can’t ask the SDA kids about their birthdays because they don’t even know half the time. Even if they did it’s not celebrated. I don’t know if this is a universal thing about SDA, or if this is a local phenomenon, but regardless there’s that.
I finally paused to think about the Brady bunch joke and started dying

Ohh yes the days when straw men were just a fictional concept![I cannot continue with this joke any further but those who know will know]
There is the Tulip Festival up in Holland Michigan pretty but expensive🌷🌷🌷

Speaking of Leprosy I remember the Simpsons episode where Lisa pranked a lazy Bart & Homer into having leprosy by putting splodges of oatmeal on their skin & painting them green she did this because they did not help around the house because Marge was laid up in hospital with a broken leg.
I consider this episode not all dogs go to heaven done right. They don't treat Christians as idiots, instead like respectable members to society. When they try to use logic against their beliefs it wasn't insulting petty manner but (in a lack of a better way to put this) put puzzle pieces together. This could've been not all dogs go to heaven 2.0 but I'm glad this was one of the few times the show went the respectable route.
christians have caused the worst events throughout history but "god" forbid anyone be mean to them and hurt their poor little feelings!!! lmao stop riding the fence
And Lois (besides being too kind that it's so out of character) works best because she's challenging their views being a Christian herself
Idk how I always end up watching the stream at the very end
Oh, we're halfway there, wow....

20:06 as grim as it is. That is legit one of my favourite Family Guy jokes of all time.
Like seriously it will pop into my head randomly and i'll start giggling instantly. 😂😂😂
27:15 on my damn Birthday Peter. Thats when she died. And i was fuming. 😂😂😂
Leprosy is really not around much in the US, but is still around is Asia and African. Also, it is a bacterial infection and easily treated with antibiotics, and some people are immune to the bacteria. But again, very rare in US.
Nice video, loved it.
Kevin Smith!
I'm shocked that the town didn't support Lois. Ben and Hope would have been found guilty in Public Opinion, and that's worse than in court.
@@crimsonmoonrise9785to be fair that's the same town where Quagmire can get away with many despicable things and quahog isn't that intelligent
Dr Hartman reminds me of Dr Studwell from fairly odd parents
They’re both based on Butch Hartman. That’s probably why.

Amazing videos keep up the great work
Please. Once try to say. "Or more 'spuh sif ick lee'"

Yes you are a part of the classroom scene but not because of the “cat reference”. It’s the plane reference…
Considering how the autobots always have human companions, Barbie could theoretically fit into the Transformers show.
Pack your things get out of my building YOUR FIRED!
As a Christian who believes in Science I agreed with Lois, I believe while God gave us herbs and prayers to help with illnesses back then. He also gave us new medicine to combat newer diseases 030
Breaking and entering is illegal too.
8:15 that scrap butch hartman!
This one would make it so you should do a list of the better things she did.
Best Lois moment stopping Stewie
25:29 you know i think I've said this but when i was born my dad said i had purple face for less oxygen and my feet were reversed, until 7 months later my feet were straightened. at the time my mom and dad didn't know God at the time but they prayed and when the doctors removed the cast he said "i never seen anything like this" because some kids lost feet and went back the way they were my dad said "no one can take my son no one" my mom told him "yes God can" and he apologized immediately to her and God. I had my first baptism and i think my grandma said the family had a 3 day baby shower then we went to the old north state 5 years after i was diagnosed autistic and i am not ashamed to admit it fast forward to ca still here
Anyone remember the joke about the people with leprosy doing the hokey poke i don't remember what show that was in

This was definitely one of those times Lois was actually a good person.
@@blueraccoon1088 Incomprehensible have a great day
imagine there being a “times where brian was right” video..
I have a question
I will say even though what Lois was doing was right but her actions she completely went the wrong way about it
I'm gonna keep asking: what is that sound or the origin of it you use to censor the curse words in your videos?
Ello all less than seconds away
Family Guy would be better if they did tone down Brian a lot, so he wasn't an attention seeker and more the Strawman.
I would have went with Simon Trent
Prayer can be part of treatment but (especially serious diseases) prayer alone will only give the sick a better chance to see god.
Even me
Hi
Show this to anti vaxxers
The christain science episode really annoys me because theres an episode where lois becomes an anti-vaxxer.
transformers animated is the best
Wash your hands.
God made medication and doctors as an answer to prayers. We were given free will under his power and no where in the Bible does it say god solves all problems. He actually lets you solve them because we are free to do as we please and if he solved everything there would be no tests in our life. So why not use medication?
I like the content but you being talking slow especially in the intro making being a fan or watching your videos little bit hard
