“I tried being normal for awhile but it got boring so I went back to being me.” Who defines normal and who defines bonkers? It’s self defeating to “fit in”. Also, I often think about the announcement on an airplane that tells us to put our own oxygen mask on before helping others. We can always see your light Wendy, even when it’s very very dim. It continues to guide us ❤️

My mum who passed away a few weeks ago LOVED Llandudno and we visited it so many times when I was a child and adult. Like you, I found it so inspirational and it sparked my own creativity which has remained with me ever since. Mum brought me up to believe in fairies saying they were our protectors and would always be there when we needed a gentle hug. I have never forgotten what she said and now I am here grieving my loss and missing her so much I only hope that my mum is watching over me alongside one of her beloved fairies x

My problem now is coming out of this cocoon. Getting back to doing things I loved. Becoming motivated to create again. It is so hard to keep a healthy balance in this life. You have been quite comforting to me these past few months. I will continue to try and pull out of this slump I am in and get back to shining my light. Thank you!

A flickering light alternates between shining and resting/recharging. And a bright light looks dim in the darkness. If you are passing through a challenging time, don't burn your light out, but recharge it, so you can shine brightly when the time is right. Love and light to you. Joy, shine, and find Grace and healing, Wendy and all my creative friends!
Please remember, you may think your light is flickering, but others still think you are sparkling!!!

I needed this video. I had to quit my internship at a yoga studio, and it was my dream job, but the owner was taking advantage of me working overtime and babysitting(which wasnt in our agreement) for free even after saying she'd start paying me for all the extra stuff i did outside the internship. I cried for weeks and still do bc it is the only local crystal shop/yoga studio around. It was the only job i have ever loved and i know its just a step in the right direction bc now i know what to do and i have completed my Reiki levels 1&2. Im a certified practioner and have completed all the necessary training hours. I keep telling myself "you manifested it once you can do it again!" So thank you again

Hi Wendy! Greetings from a Wendi in Michigan in the US, where it is quite cold and snowy, and will be for quite a few weeks yet. This video really hit home with me as I've been struggling with depression for the last month or so, and not shining very brightly. I'm getting to work every day and doing what needs to be done for my elderly mother, to whom I am live-in caregiver, but getting through just the essentials of each day really saps what little strength I can muster, and there is nothing left over. I've dealt with this my whole life and know to "cocoon" as you put it, and take care of myself until it passes. I feel for you with your pain. It is exhausting and sucks the very life from you if given the opportunity. I'm so glad you are doing what you need to recover, including maintaining your creative practice. Also glad you found the strength and opportunity to let us know what is going on with you. I, for one, am very grateful for your light. Love and warmth. 💜❤

Enjoyed your video, Wendy. Loved your Fairy poem. As you showed us the snow flurries floating by, first thing that popped into my mind, my imagination, was the flurries are fairies making their presence known. Or am I bonkers thinking this. Nope, I'm just being a creative soul. As for the aches and pains, one of my cousins, told me she woke feeling the aches and pains, depressed, she has fibromyalgia. She goes to the pool at a gym for the warmth and movement. She works in her garden, when weather permits. But this one day she told me, she kind of figured that the problem was she was mourning her youth. I started to wonder that is what I as well am doing, mourning my youth. Heavy sigh. Then I watched a movie, "Jumanji, the Next Level" . Grandpa Eddie says, " Getting old sucks and don't let no one tell you different. But at the end he changes his mind and says, "Getting old is a gift." So, I just need to make the most of my time and just be. Wishing all of us warm wishes for positive , creative, wellness energy. Thank you.

About being a bit bonkers - My mom once called me weird. At first, I was hurt by her characterization of me, but then I made weird into a beautiful thing. It gives me more room for behavior that others might not have. Recently I found this definition "suggesting something supernatural; uncanny." I was all about that! Yes, I am supernatural in my essence, and I am absolutely uncanny at being me!
May we all be a bit bonkers/weird! Bright Blessings NMRK

HI Wendy, You really are an awesome lady. I so enjoyed this video. I especially loved when you said that you didn’t mind if people thought you odd. I bet that most of us see ourselves that way. I actually prefer to not be like everyone else. My favorite quote from the movie Practical Magic was “my darling girl, when are you going to realize that being normal is not necessarily a virtue? It rather denotes a lack of courage.” Aunt Frances. I also loved your poem. You are really talented. My mom loved fairies too. I think of her when you are talking about the fairies or painting them. She had a book of poems she wrote about “The Wind Fairies” They were mischievous and funny. We all need to take the time we need to rest where needed, isolate when needed, heal where needed. Relax and definitely give yourself the space you need. I’m always happy to see you but I don’t put the requirement on you to produce anything. Just be you. That’s why you have followers. You are wonderful. 😊

I loved the old church and love beautiful architecture too. The details are exquisite and the artistry of the masons just amazing work.
You are perfectly formed as intended, not bonkers at all. To be honest I never seemed to really fit in growing up, had to work harder in my work life than most to feel valued. After retirement in 2014 my life slowly reached the pace perfect for me. I’ve found the artistic side that was buried inside. But there are days the back pains and body aches get the best of me. Thank God I have a dog that helps me keep moving pain or not as it may be a shorter or longer walk but still moving.
Your poem is absolutely beautiful and written from that beautiful place in your heart and soul.
Wendy, no matter what your feeling your light still shines, your words of wisdom and honesty touch so many of us that love and understand what you say to each of us. Your painting are expressions of beauty that is of You.
I’m so very happy to call you a friend and continue to pray for your full healing. Much love and softest hugs. Hello to James too.
I spend a lot of time alone and your videos brighten my days. ❤❤❤ Have a good week and see you next time. When the heat is off spend the time at home as your health is most important. A beautiful video ❤ I had decades of illness and injury becoming unable to pursue my art. I was always a go-getter, so it was quite difficult for me to adjust. I learned I could still make "to do" lists if I looked at what got checked off the list rather than what didn't. On days I woke up too ill or painful, rather than writing off the whole day, learning to let the day unfold without any prejudice on how it would unfold. I learned how to distract myself from the pain to get through the day rather than taking meds. I thought it would only get worse as I aged. Unfortunately and fortunately, I was in a car accident and because of that, lucked into meeting someone brilliant to help me. Now over 20 years later, I am so much better. I can garden again and have just set up my at home art studio again. I came across your video on is it too late to start new things after 40+ (paraphrased) not knowing you were an artist. Watching your videos has helped me so much to finish my setup , to know how I want to re-eneter my painting life, and so many useful art tips that I never learned when taking art classes. I can't thank you enough ❤❤❤

Good bootstrap episode. Had 4 yrs of pain and intense fatigue, shortness of breath and blurred vision that ALL the things I loved to do had to be put on pause and I was failing everyday life. I finally got medication for myasthenia gravis and have been slowly fighting my way back to me, forgiving myself on days I just can't. Have decided I am now to be the mosaic artist of me and must give up the elegant, purposeful me. Some days are harder. Do you not have space heaters you can use there? Heaters dying in my guest house that was to be temporary..10 yrs ago.. so most of winter has been 54-60oF inside, today is balmy at 65! Space heater and leg warmers are wonderful. My mind keeps going back to Ukraine where even 50o inside might be wonderful but it all still drains me a bit. Hope the upcoming week is better for you.

Dear Wendy, your words are spot on for many of us…..I too know that taking time to do nothing is a good thing, and I have so many creative ideas and I plan to go into my studio and paint, but somehow the motivation to just go and do is not there. Then my brain takes over and I think that one day I will regret not just doing!! Pain is a horrid thing, especially when it goes on and on. (I’ve used Traumheel cream….helps quite a bit or Thieves Balm which is a mix of essential oils, which helps too…at least temporarily!) Take care, and be more specific with what you are looking for….house, van, etc, as the more specific you are in your vision, the easier it is for the universe to manifest it! Hugs from Canada! ❤

My favourite quote from Alice is, “ all the best people are bonkers” 🥰 But it is the quote from Gods word that has helped me a lot lately, “ Your strength will be in keeping calm and showing trust.” It calms my ❤️ when all in the 🌍 is not good.

    Hello Wendy
Thank you for sharing your highs and low's plus your beautiful poem it was amazing , I so understand your pain , I live with back and knee pain , my chiropractor adjusts my back and pelvis ( which seems to be the main issue ) through the roof of my mouth ! Its quite amazing and works . Another thing I've been doing is saying I have a " feeling" in my knees and back rather than saying to my self I'm in pain .....it really works and is worth a try . Pain is such a lonely journey .
I totally would be looking for a new studio , how can you work on anything when your freezing cold . Bless your beautiful mum for knitting your a cozy warm cardigan .
I'm turning 71,in April and my wife and I are selling our home atm ( which is very stressful) and we are going to rent a friends house, being on a pension its hard to afford all of the rises in mortgage payments , petrol , food and maintenance etc , I'm feeling anxious and over whelmed atm, plus so unmotivated as I've done some packing of my crafts ( thinking we'd sell quicker , but it's 7 weeks of open houses which is tiring.
Thank you Wendy you've inspired me to dig out my journal's in the morning ( its 11pm here in Australia) and get connected again with my inner being , I've neglected her for to long . I love draggon fly as much as you love faires,
I use to write poetry but am struggling with it now ? ..
its so great to see you and hear of your struggle's ( I'm sending healing and gentle hugs to you ) as it helps those of us who live with pain not feel so alone plus it helps us to share it to , praying you get relief ASAP .
thank you for doing a vlog even though your not feeling your self , we really love to see you. Take great care Ella xxxxxx

Our wonderful Wendy, we love you just the way you are. I live on my own with my dog, and talk outloud to myself all the time, I even answer my own questions! This can be embarrassing if someone is nearby, whom I have not noticed, on my dog walks, so I pretend I was talking to my rescue greyhound Madge! Living alone, with dog, and not having any human company, I have to talk to someone, so why not me?! I think it is awful that you are paying rent on your studio, and there is often no heating. I hope that you can find a better place, somewhere else, as this does not help your state of mind, when you are freezing. Big hugs coming your way from me, and loving licks from Madge! xxx

I’m sorry you are experiencing pain….it can be so hard. I’ve had pain too, and have several chronic health challenges I cope with. You have gained a lot of wisdom about this time…. Not worrying what anyone else says, being kind to yourself, practicing self care, and pursuing the creative path that seems full of healing power at the moment you choose it are all SO important. Also for me, spirituality and learning to fully rely on God is the ultimate way through any difficult situation. For I believe it is “through”, not around, that contributes the most to the process of being our best selves in spite of life’s bumpy roads.
I’m going to come back to the 2nd half of your video another day and listen again to the quotes for inspiration. Loved the journal page you were adding the words to at the end……so lovely and calming. If we can keep our minds and spirits well even when our bodies may not be will be well worth the effort! I have learned that few others can appreciate my pain, or understand my challenges so I have decided it is not important that they “get it”. I participate in life & the world with others as I’m able, and make myself the best company to me I can be! Be kind to yourself!

    I like, "I think I'm at a point where I don't care if people think I'm bonkers."
My life too has been dimmer than usual. I'm glad you're showing up anyway.
I think your landlord should be responsible for the heating, providing you with a space heater and discounting your rental space by the number of days the heat is out.
I find back pain to be one of the debilitating pains. It's so difficult to get rid of and pain IS energy draining.

I have a chronic illness and if I lose my insurance, I may get really sick if I don't have my medications. But your eloquent and gorgeous poem has lifted my spirits, if only for a little while. If you're bonkers, I'll join your club any day. Thank you for sharing yourself. It means the world to me.

I love you Wendy💞 You just make my day!!🥰 Loved your card reading! I believe everything will be okay! You are so silly! True! We Connect! People tell me I'm too hard on myself! I know I am but it has to do with what has gone on around me all my life if anyone can understand?
You are so blessed to get to experience all those things we just dream about it! And take about it! I had the same thoughts about my voice too I get afraid to play back the videos or even watch them it's bizarre I don't quite understand why I am like that! Other then my husband telling me I can't sing and peeing me down or shutting me down if I try to talk or when we are with a other people not letting me talk he hogs the conversation Anyone else go through this with their husband of man you just said it! Feeling fragile and exhausted from pressure and stress! You make me smile! You warm my heart!❤️ Yes the world has gone bonkers! We need down time!! Yes!! BeaUtiFul!❣️ you are such an Inspiration! Need I say more! Have A Wonderful Week!🥰

I forgot to say I have to do things much more slowly and mindfully BUT now I enjoy doing them so much more - being more fully immersed and in the present moment. With that awareness, I know my art IS going to be exactly as I want it, rather than worrying will I ever get there. I love the word devoted to describe our passions and will borrow that. I use the word ritual to describe my daily tasks because work can carry a negative meaning a lot of the time. And I don't want to view life that way. Big hugs to you ❤

Lovely poem. I can honestly say I've never fitted in, considered as a bit of a loon even my family think I'm strange. I put it down to I'm individual, having a life experience and not following the sheep. It's OK to be odd quirky, strange and in a world of my own. At least the experiences I'm having in life are mine and for 90% of the time are wonderful, spiritual and up lifting. To be honest I don't want to just fit in. I want to be me. I love your work.❤
