Some tips on the outfit struggle! I also never know what to put on in the mornings so when I'm feeling creative I just draw myself some outfit combos of clothes I own and stick them onto my closet door :)

Great idea! I've been saving outfits from tv-shows I like, perhaps I should put them on my closet door!

This just reminded me that it was a mistake putting all of my books in storage temporarily 😭 it’s always fun sketching from book references since the internet is so over whelming

Oh no! I hope you will be reunited with your books soon. I totally agree with you, I much prefer the tactile experience of sifting through a book and looking up close at images. There's so much online, but also somehow everything online looks the same after a while?

Aw yay, a fellow folklore fan :D I'm planning on making a video about the Huldra and its different versions! If people like that I have a whole list of Scandinavian creatures I want to talk about ^^
Oh, I hear ya, I've been whittling down my wardrobe into clothing that is comfortable BUT also look nice and put together. It's just that, you know, the inspiration to put them together into new combinations just hasn't existed.
It's tough when it feels like there's a block to do a particular type of drawing or part of the process and I don't really have a solution for that other than... not doing it for a while. Not pushing yourself too hard (or comparing to others, which I am guilty of myself) is usually the thing that makes it easier over time. For me, making thumbnails of an illustration was a game-changer but I can see how it isn't for everyone.
And now I'm even more excited to read more Sanderson! :D Finished Elantris this weekend and it left a gaping hole!
Thank you for your sweet and thoughtful comment, it looks like we have a lot in common :D

@@josiemakes Okay, you got a subscriber! I would love to learn more about Scandanavian critters and folktales from someone who grew up with them. Context matters so much and I far prefer listening to someone talk about such things above reading about them (not that I don't but if I have a choice, I prefer to be told).
As to clothes: HA! I don't make those choices :D I live in a tank top and leggings. I have nicer leggings/dressy yoga pants and shirts that I put on over my tank tops for slightly nicer needs.
I haven't drawn in a very long time, not steadily, so I haven't gotten to the "art block" section of being an artist again. It is still very much just trying to dust off my skills and see what remains. I have managed to work on something nearly everyday of January which is a huge step forward but I still have a long way to go. I'm relearning and learning everyday from RUclipsrs just like you. :) Forty-four is late in the game to try to resurrect my creative drive but... seems like it's still buried in there somewhere.
You're so welcome! Visit www.brandonsanderson.com/pages/standalones-cosmere to find the books outside of the series. Mistborn and Stormlight are huge time commitments and sometimes that's just too much. But these are fun and not reading the rest of the Cosmere shouldn't effect your enjoyment of them.
I look forward to your future videos!

Aw thank you 🥲 I hope you like it here! I totally get what you're saying, it is different to get some things told to you. With fairy tales and lore, the way I see it, that's the way they were meant to be experienced!
Doing art every day, even in small ways, is a big thing but it can also be very rewarding. I resonate with a lot of what you're saying and want to talk more about those "struggles" too. I also want to say you're never too old, but you're not even old! And anyway, doing it just for you is a good enough reason!
I've been eyeing Mistborn, just need a palette cleanser to digest Elantris, and then I'm taking the plunge!

I’ll gladly check out Brandon Sanderson. I’m always on the hunt for something interesting to listen to while spending long hours at my desk. Audiobooks and podcasts have been so helpful for me, they really keep me focused. I completely agree about reading, I’m trying to get back into the habit, especially in the evenings. However, with two cats who are always at their most active right before bedtime, it can be a bit of a challenge since they still have some growing up to do.
By the way, I loved the cozy vibe of this video and that shot of you editing was such a clever touch, I really appreciated it. And honestly, I don’t know how other people stay motivated to style themselves before going out. I always face the boring jeans problem, even though I have a few other clothes I could wear. Somehow, it just never feels worth the hassle.

Sanderson's podcast is very casual and they really cover a lot of different topics. I tend to like the ones specifically relating to writing, books, the creative process of course, but there's also some episodes on every thing from gaming to philosophy. It's a bit like listening in on a conversation, which I like. As much as I love reading, it's one of those things that goes in waves.
And thank you! I want to make more casual videos, and be brave to post something longer as well 😅 I tend to cut away a lot and end up with around 10 min videos. I'm afraid people will lose interest 🫠 Thanks for watching as always ❤️
