I'm unsure exactly what area in Alaska but I know they just put an area in for a bid and not one offer was made. I'm unsure if it's the same space as trump mentioned
So it’s okay if Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia , Iraq & Colombia drill for oil and sell it to us? I never seem to hear angry voices towards those countries regarding the environment.
remember guys, even if you don't think you can do anything as good as this, remember that a simple act of kindness can still make someone's day and make a difference!

I'll add to the good news and share that Thailand became the first country in southeast Asia to legalise same-sex marriage this month! A mass wedding was held immediately afterwards and the photos absolutely radiate joy. 🏳🌈 I love love.
I've been having anxiety attacks all week for obvious reasons. I can't even try to go anywhere else because I can't afford it and my elderly cat wouldn't handle another move. Stuff like this is exactly what i need to calm down.

My sister lives in the middle of nowhere and has thought about getting a goat in a future for her lawn (and most likely her neighbors lawn). It’s nice to hear that their usefulness is spreading. ❤
Goats are social so you need at least two. Also goats are more mid level grazers, meaning the eat shrubs and whatnot, but not really grass. Sheep are grass eaters.
3:00 there is also an organization that offers to recreate childhood stuffed animals lost in the fires; their name is Budsies! They're offering to do this free of charge and it means a lot to me as a stuffed animal lover myself. My thoughts go out to people still displaced by the fires, we had one hit close to home last summer and a lot of people in our neighbouring community lost their homes. Take care of yourselves and stay safe! Lots of love from Canada
this actually lifted my mood. i have been so depresed with the constant videos about "this person is the worst person in the world" and it just really tiring for my health. really happy about goats using to prevent wildfires, I love goats so much/ I hope I can take care of them one day. i love the one about animals too

In less than a month working at a hospital, I already struggle to name all the patients whose lives could be saved with this cancer breakthrough. The old man with a large, loving family with a great sense of humor and contagious laugh. The 20-something year old whose family watches over her attentively but solemnly and praying for her recovery. The 60 year old on comfort care (meaning, we are no longer try to save his life, just let the rest of his life be pleasant) who gives life advice to us medical staff because he's grateful for our care. This reversal breakthrough means EVERYTHING.
Studying both environmental science and American government has me feeling both disheartened and wanting to act more than ever. I discovered you through your video on the entirety of 2024. Thank you so, so much for your work, I'm sure you've heard it hundreds of times but it can't be said enough! It makes me want to do similar for other people, seeing how powerful it is simply to share good news.
I am a Australian lifestyle medicine educator based in China and the events in the USA have increased my motivation to become more involved in permaculture and environmental activism.
@@wholefoodplantbasedmama5398 Yes, that's amazing! Keep it up. It's just like how I am reconsidering changing my major from psychology to environmental science; it's a change I can't take lightly, but recent events have similarly made me realize I can do something about this. I love to see others feel the same way instead of being discouraged. Be angry and understand that feeling despair is valid, but also always remember you can do something about all of this. I believe in you.
Wow, these videos really prove just how much things can be made to seem like it's all doom and gloom. Before I started watching these videos it genuinely felt like the entire world was going backwards and getting worse, more dangerous, less caring. But when you put all these good things together in one video it really shows just how much we're progressing, how much people care about the earth and about each other. Thank you so much for making these videos. The world feels a lot less scary and life feels a lot less hopeless
adding to the good news here, a bit of research into the Candiru catfish (skimming wikipedia) has informed me that experts are pretty skeptical of the fish's attraction to the human urethra. The only firsthand account of such a horrifying attack was in 1997, and when a marine biologist interviewed the poor bastard in question he came away with some suspicions on the legitimacy of the story
While I’m really grateful for the rescues of cats and dogs during the LA fires, I think it’s important to also acknowledge the many exotic pets that are often overlooked in these situations. People who own rabbits, chinchillas, rats, gerbils, lizards, snakes, and other non-traditional pets are also facing displacement, and many of these animals don’t have the same rescue options available. We shouldn’t forget about them. There needs to be more support and resources for all pets, regardless of their species, and recognition that they require specialized care too.
Snow leopards are my ALL TIME FAVORITE animal. I'm so happy to hear about their comeback. Thank you for the work that you do and the love that you spread, Sam.

oh my god I had no idea about the first one and that means so much to me - I’m from Louisiana but don’t live there anymore. as a kid we learned a lot about the coastal erosion in our state and it’s an important topic locally. it’s so lovely to hear there’s initiatives being taken to help with that.
@@reizayinOh yeah, great. A wildfire taking out LA and threatening San Diego displacing millions of people and leaving them homeless and jobless. Great. Awesome. Diversity and inclusion funding being taken away from businesses to encourage discrimination against women, minorities, and people with disabilities. Wooo. Thank you for bringing more positivity to the internet and the world! We definitely need it! I think the composting thing in New York is awesome.... Where I live we have garbage and recycling bins but for whatever reason our garbage collectors don't recycle anything so I don't understand the seperate bins.... But in New York not only do they recycle but are doing composting.... It would be lovely if this could spread....
Composting is such a no brainer, so much value just going to landfill that could be used to support local farmers, people wanting to grow their own food and not rely on supermarkets as much, or help bring green spaces to life.
You could try finding like-minded people nearby and campaign your local government to improve waste management initiatives! A small group of people can make a big difference if they focus their efforts.
Sam, would you ever consider doing bimonthly episodes? Surely the work is immense and my question is kinda presumptuous, but I would pay extra on Patreon, cause over here in the US we’re desperately wading through garbage and depression looking for good news and your videos are such a bright spot
I want to say a big THANK YOU Sam. As someone prone to anxiety and depression, I cut myself from the news, especially recently. What you're doing is nothing short of proving a lot of good things are happening right now and nobody talk about them. Thank you, thank you so much!
You are providing an invaluable service. As negativity gets the most attention at all times, the world's progress should not go unheard, as it is just as much a force of good as us hearing the bad things. While I believe it is important we are aware of the negative things so we may combat them for the good of earth and humanity, you are the only person I know that sheds some light on the good. Bless you.
Couldn’t agree more, we definitely can’t put our head in the sand and forget about the bad, but the balance is so skewed atm it’s just leading to mass despair and health crisis
Thank you for this! It's so easy to only see the bad going on in the world, but it is so comforting to know that people and organizations are still doing so much good!
Thank you! I have becoming despondent with all the corrupt and depressing news lately. It is sooooo refreshing to hear about the good things happening in the world! I have now subscribed to your channel and will watch your info and skip the rest. Big thanks. 😊💜👍
Thanks for this news update Sam. I find it especially good to hear that so many americans think and act independently and care for each other and nature. Despite such a despicable president.
Sam youre a litteral lives saver. I'm heavily depressiv and the state of the world tends to get me dangerously depressed. Your positives news give me always a little hope.
Holy moly I follow this guy on insta and I didn't know he was here on YT until today. Im so glad this man is around and he happened to creep up on my algorithm 🙏 he shows there is hope and humans are good and that things can and do get better. Its better than having the same story from buas news anchors drilling the same fear mongering over and over again
With how much people have been talking about the negative stuff happening in the world in recent years, hearing about the good makes things feel much better. I’m a very optimistic and positive person, so I’m always glad to hear good news like this. Thank you Sam, we could all use more positivity and optimism in our lives.
I could watch content like this all day!! Its a shame that most news related content is skewed negatively. This channel has showed me that its not all doom and gloom. There is a lot of positive change happening every month.
Why on EARTH would any Christmas trees go to landfill? I don’t understand… Surely it should all go to the country’s green recycling? That’s nuts. This stuff is NOT HARD.
What you do has been an invaluable ray of hope for me. I end up feeling so pessimistic and drained with all the bad news sometimes; it really helps to hear about the good things.
California needs alot of goats to clear brush to help prevent wildfires. If I am not mistaken, the drilling ban was just over turned in the USA. I love your channel Sam... the world needs more good news.
He can undo the ban but it’s not easy. It took a number of public consultations, environmental reviews, and legal analysis to enact the ban, and reversing it requires the same process (and for the results to conclude the ban was unjust, illegal, or unwanted by the public in some way). Even with the withdrawal from the Paris Agreement, the US has a lot of environmental commitments, and off-shore drilling is deeply unpopular in many coastal communities. It’s not going to be easy to convince the public and the government that the ban shouldn’t have been enacted. This only represents a small portion of US oil, so Trump will probably turn his attention elsewhere. More than anything, this is a win for the incredible biodiversity in the areas which now has far greater protection, rather than a significant reduction in fossil fuel production.
Thank you so much for all this good news! with all the bad stuff happening recently, it was nice to watch this video with a smile on my face. Can't wait for next month's video!
I’m so glad the algorithm drew my attention to your delightful channel! I’m sharing your video on my social media. I live in western North Carolina where we got hit hard by Hurricane Helene. Although our recovery here will be a long one, that tragedy here than has forever changed us and this land case brought out the very best in humanity. Everyone dropped their differences and united with the most loving authenticity of heart connections that our world desperately needs. Experiencing how my community had come together here helped to remind me of how resilient we can be, and what is possible when people reconnect as humans. ❤🙏🌿😁🌎☮️
Appreciation to you for covering positive news! Mentioning some other channels who have been helping: Planet Wild, Andrew Millison, Mossy Earth, and Robert E Fuller!
So refreshing! Lovely to see how much we can all truly help each other. There are many more good folks doing good work than the handful of mentally unstable guys in the news these days.
Sorry to bring a not-so-good news update, but there are two lawsuits pending against Biden's ban on offshore oil drilling, and Trump has already revoked the ban anyway. This will all presumably be settled in court at some point. Whether this ban will become reality will be decided by a judge, we don't know how impartial that judge will be, or when this will be resolved. In any case, we need your channel now more than ever! It is a true lifeline during these difficult times.
I just discovered your 2024 yearly roundup and this month's roundup today, and I haven't subscribed to any channel so quickly in years! It's amazing to see all the good news about the work happening worldwide to move us in a positive direction. Thank you so much for sharing, I've already got notifications on so I can be sure to tune into these videos every month as you release them!
You are amazing. Posting a comment for the algorithm to give you some love just as I'm doing with this. Continue this; I'm so happy this evening to finally really have looked into your videos. I'm a very positive, loving person and I'm so grateful and happy to see others doing the same type of uplifting work in life. Especially as it is really not easy in our modern times. Big love!
Thank you for compiling good news. This shows that humanity still has so much resilience to come together and work for better future. These also serve as reminder that most of the time we fight against ourselves - it's not some outside force destroying our planet - it's the way it's governed, that we have to keep struggling with. The fact that the whole world is run by economic system that prioritizes profits over the sustainability is just beyond me. And what's happening in US now is just dystopia without pretending to be anything else. It really made me think about the reasoning behind capitalism. There is no point to it. It's not the best system to ever exist. It's the easiest for the rich to control the rest of us. The misinformation, biding us against each other. It's ridiculous that we have to fight to keep our planet inhabitable. That should be a priority number 1! But in today's world the main priority is shareholder value.
Finding this channel for the first time. We need this. I am sad to say that my brain has been so programmed to take in all the negative and crazy stuff that it's having a hard time just listening to good stuff. But realizing that makes me understand just how much I, and we all, need this right now.
You have no idea how happy I am, when I see that you have uploaded a new video. During covid I was in such bad psychical condition that I couldn't watch any news without a mental breakdown, moslty bc the war in Ukraine began and TV stations in our coutry were going insane at that time: they changed their system to a new one, wich was full of depressing stuff and nearly never mentioned anything happy -- even my parents pointed this out to me without me ever sharing how I feelt about the news back that. I know there was a lot of horrible stuff going around - I can't ignore that - but it felt like they completly resigned from showing anything optimistic and happy. I still can't quite bring myself to watch news in TV, even tho so much time has allready passed, but I still allways try to keep up with the news, at least a little bit, trought news sites. Recently, I found myself enjoying articles about nautre and animals and new inventions way more than any politics articles, but there wasn't too much of them on sites that I trust. Maby that's why your chanel was recomended to me those few months ago. I am geniuenly very happy that I have found it. It makes me want to keep up with the stuff thats happening in the world, makes me feel a lot more optymistic about the future of the world and also there is allways something to take out of your videos and spread to others during conversation. Thank you for your work, there isn't enought people as good as you, that are visible to others in our content floded internet and media.
I am so glad I found your channel at the end of last year, these videos make my day! Thank you for spreading all the good news the big companies never tell us, keep it up 🙏

As a (now disabled) nurse, that's definitely exciting news!

i haven't heard about this either WHAT
After hearing a president proudly declare “drill baby drill” seeing that conservation efforts are still being made give me a little ease
I was confused about that one because his executive orders regarding Alaska seem to override any protected areas… not sure though
Trump has already reversed the oil drilling ban by executive oil. So, no protections in place unless he loses in court.
I'm unsure exactly what area in Alaska but I know they just put an area in for a bid and not one offer was made. I'm unsure if it's the same space as trump mentioned

Thank you. As an American I needed this pick me up.
Hope it helped your January ❤️
@itsSamBentley it did thank you!
Aww, I love Snow Leopards! I used to have big poster on the wall when I was little
Right?! They’re so cool!!
Well I guess finding this channel was my good news for Feb!
Sam youre a litteral lives saver. I'm heavily depressiv and the state of the world tends to get me dangerously depressed. Your positives news give me always a little hope.
Hope this can help in a small way and sending positive vibes your way for the rest of the month💚
There are more good humans than bad..but the bad ones are just the loudest ...shout out to Sam thanks for your channel !!!
We need this channel now more than ever.
I’ve got you ❤️
Thank you to all those people and animals who are working hard to make our world a better place and thank you Sam ❤
This stuff is NOT HARD.
there's also a beach in the UK that take the donation to rebuild sand dunes
What you do has been an invaluable ray of hope for me. I end up feeling so pessimistic and drained with all the bad news sometimes; it really helps to hear about the good things.
This channel will singlehandedly carry me through this year
Ahhh the nyc composting thing is amaaaazing! I love that. Love all the good news ❤🎉
Needed this today! Thank you!
Hope you have a great rest of your day!
Sam if only 99% of videos were as positive as yours. THANKYOU xx
Oh wow maybe the world would be TOO positive then haha but you’re right there does need to be better balance!
@@itsSamBentley Thank you for being educated about how this works. That was my first thought, that I would be over turned right away.
@@itsSamBentleyi was confused about this one too. Thanks for clarifying. Love your video
Thank you for these incredible good news! I'm eager to know what's next in February. Greetings from Spain! 🤗
I've already got started on it and i'll keep an eye out for Spain stories too! voy a mirar para noticia en Espana!
Thank you so much for all this good news! with all the bad stuff happening recently, it was nice to watch this video with a smile on my face. Can't wait for next month's video!
Thank you! I had started to think there wasn't any good news at all this month since I live in the United States.
Saw this on my feed and immediately clicked on it. I really need this now, thank you so much for making these videos.
Sam, you are like the morning sun; you brighten my day.
And, with current situation in U.S., we all need good news!!
Have a great rest of your day!
Appreciation to you for covering positive news!
Mentioning some other channels who have been helping: Planet Wild, Andrew Millison, Mossy Earth, and Robert E Fuller!
You’re the only news I’m watching this year
So refreshing! Lovely to see how much we can all truly help each other. There are many more good folks doing good work than the handful of mentally unstable guys in the news these days.
wishing peace and love for you forever, doing good work out here 🙏
Thanks Sam, the cancer breakthrough is huge! Also, your hair is looking very healthy
The Sauron fish is awesome
any chance of getting LOTR in my video i'll take it!
thank you. news made me spiral today, and the eyeliner boy helped me a lot
I went to subscribe to this channel and discovered I was already subscribed. I need more good news in my life.
Past you was ahead of the game 🙏🏼
Sam Bentley for Prime Minister! We need more lovely people like you, Sam! Thanks for fantastic video, so professionally executed 🤩🤩🤩
Damn, the algorithm is algorithming... I'm new here and I've really been needing a break from the doom & gloom. Thank you!
We couldnt wait for your January video... We need any positive news in this gloomy month
Thank you for putting all this effort into making this video, you are on the right path!
thank you comments like this make it worth it!
Aww you’re the best thank you!
I've had some ups and downs personally. I had a bad allergic reaction to some new skin care on my face but I also am smashing my weight loss goals. 😇
Big love!
😂😂SEND THE GOATS 🐐 😤
ROLL OUT THE GOATS!
So glad to hear about the good things happening in the US, right now it’s especially needed
Thank you for this, things have been feeling so bleak over here in the states
I’ve got your back 🙌🏼
(Commenting for the algorithm)
The cancer reversal is just… wow.
Thank you for creating these videos ! I get anxious when I see negative things happening around the world ! So i appreciate this 😊
“There’s still some good in the world Mr. Frodo, and it’s worth fighting for.”
Thank you for always bringing the light.
always make me cry i love these
Hope you're doing ok and thanks for being here!
Finding this channel for the first time.
We need this.
I am sad to say that my brain has been so programmed to take in all the negative and crazy stuff that it's having a hard time just listening to good stuff.
But realizing that makes me understand just how much I, and we all, need this right now.
Thank you for sharing these good news stories! They’ve brightened my morning.
Hoping for a great and safe 2025!
I always look forward to these
Hope this one was worth it!
@ always!
I am so glad you do this. With all the stuff happening right now you monthly news video brings me hope for the future.
Honestly your accent is just as enjoyable to listen to as your good news ❤
Ok, these are some legitimately good news, no one ever knew about. Why are they being kept from us? Is it really about ratings?
In my country we dont use real trees for xmas, we buy one plastic and keep it for decades.
In America most of us prefer the plastic trees, but in places with lots of Xmas tree farms it's more common to use real trees.
You help my mental health SO much!
Look for the helpers!
It’s getting harder and harder to be aware of the world and not be depressed. Thank you for sharing the good news, it really breaks up the sadness!
It was so wonderful to see this video in my recommended with how truly hopeless everything feels in the US right now
Algorithm boosting comment!! Lest go new video!!!
Appreciate you!
Thank you for reminding us that all is not lost and that small efforts yield big results❤️😇
I am so glad I found your channel at the end of last year, these videos make my day! Thank you for spreading all the good news the big companies never tell us, keep it up 🙏
