Things we shouldn't talk about

  • I'm showing up authentic and a bit raw this week so I hope you don't mind. Sometimes we need to say things and even rant a little don't we, to let it all out! I have some things really bothering me and sometimes I hesitate on here to say things because well, it's RUclips isn't it!? But sometimes I think we should open up more about the things that seem a bit taboo and it might just encourage us all to share honourably and honestly about the stuff that really should be discussed more... Shine a light as I say... As usual, please feel free to leave your comments down below. We can shine lights, share, inspire & support in this very special community of like~minded beings! Thank you so much for keeping me company in our little corner of RUclips. Love you all to bits, Biggest, Softest, Everythings, Wendy. Xx

Yes. I’m politically embarrassed - of both major parties. I’m also appalled at the everyday violence and honestly don’t feel as safe in public as I used to. I get anxious. I truly hope change is coming as the corruption comes to light. I know several people who are simply choosing to live abroad in other countries.

I live in America if you want to talk political BONKERS. I am with you. I wanted winter to last longer so I could hibernate and try to make sense out of this world...as well as craft on my own and try to figure things out. I enjoy living in a fantasy world and to be surrounded with uplifting music, items and food and the whole works of what is peaceful and that which brings love and cheer. I am 75 and never was ashamed of my country until now. I have been losing loved ones a lot lately do to aging and its all a muddle. Yes, lets try to keep our lights shining brightly. You gently encourage others to be their best within their capabilities on the day, to not be defeated by setbacks and disappointments and to celebrate themselves and to nurture their souls. People saying we shouldn't talk politics are usually not having their lives affected by them. How can we not when in the whole world over, people are starving, not able to find a place to live, pay their rent, heat their homes or in some countries not have control of their bodies? Wendy, you are right to talk about politics because it's not just a abstract thing. It's our very lives that are affected.

Grateful for a place that allows for things not being okay all the time. 😅I feel like I just got permission for sinking into my chair & staring at the fire. I can turn the "keep your vibration high" loop off for a bit. Sometimes I just need to stare at the fire to reconcile the layers.

So I'm looking forward to spring but summer is the worst. I feel sad when it's winter solstice because the light returns and jubilation on summer solstice because the light will dim. I’m the same. I really dislike the heat and humidity of the English summers (which are becoming more intense of course), I feel uncomfortable in my own skin and don’t want to go anywhere or do anything, I feel strange as though I’m under a magnifying glass and completely laid bare body and soul. I realise how weird this must sound but it’s true. My favourite season is spring when we have the bright sunshine and blue skies but the sting of cold weather on our skin. The days are still short which I love and we need to wear our coats and scarves like protective armour against…what? I don’t know, but I do know that I feel better cocooned in layers of clothing for some reason. My 2nd favourite is winter, short days and every reason to stay comfy by the fire with a good book and a big mug of coffee/tea/hibiscus tea etc. We’re in August now and I can’t wait for the summer to be over. I’ve never said these things out loud in case people think I’m beyond strange. I’m definitely an introvert HSP 🫢💛

@@ExLibris-AlysI know I am 10 months late lol 🤭😄 but you have echoed and described exactly how I feel about the summer months. As I age, I find I prefer my own company and love the security and safety of my own room. I am also an empath and feel drained every time I return from a shopping trip or a day out. The one positive thing that evolved out of the pandemic was learning so much about myself. Who I really am!
Re: this bonkers world and corrupt politics, I do my best to avoid talking about it because it upsets my equilibrium so I prefer not to engage as it just makes me angry. We can see how it is affecting others too due to the high toxicity permeating social media.

I find I'm hibernating more. My mind and body need it. Some days I make the bed, make a cup of tea and then get back into it. I'm enjoying that. I find I'm isolating myself more. I went out last week and I was in a store queuing up at the till and a woman started having a go at me for not using the self service till. For a start, I can't use one. She just kept going on at me. There was other tills open so I wasn't holding anyone up. It really was uncalled for. But I got so upset , I started crying. It felt as though I'd committed the crime of the century.
I was annoyed with myself for crying. But I do think the world is definitely back to front, inside out, wrong way round, totally distorted. I felt it really strongly . I was exhausted. This week I've been resting. To try and regain some energy.. 💕🧚‍♀️

I live in the countryside in 2 rooms which is my studio as well. I don't mind though because as a creative person and without a car, it's my space, cozy and well, a little bit messy... plant babys all over, etc. I managed to finish a painting and am very pleased with it. As this vid unfolds, I’m realising that I do do a lot of stuff for myself (self-care)… My nemesis? Sugary stuff and/or carbs. Being diabetic, it makes me so unwell. Managed to finally stop smoking, after 51 years 🎉 I’ll be able to paint and draw again once the flat is sorted. It’s taken me 5 years to get to this point (“this point” being “nearly sorted”). Yeah, you know what… I’m ok 😊 Thankyou for helping me realise it Wendy ❤

    Yes yes yes. I
Most people would think I'm crazy, but I'm not quite ready for Spring...it means getting down and dirty in my yard and cleaning things up. But one day the temperature will warm up and the air will smell just right, and I'll be ready. I force myself to get out and walk for an hour. It does clear the head and makes your body stretch, stand tall and walk fast (or sort of fast). Sugar is my nemesis. For me, just cutting back is good and almost doable:) What gets me going? Coffee, usually one will do it. You are a sweetie. Best wishes.

Hi Wendy, You are so brave to speak out loud on what our world has become. I live in the USA, and for the first time in my life I feel like being an ex patriot. We do not have free speech on any social media unless it's in agreement with the "Powers That Be", Our State, and town has become a hub for building high rise apartment buildings on every open space we once had, it's housing loud, noisy, inconsiderate people. I don't watch the news anymore..TV commercials are in different languages...I don't understand what has happened ???? It's sad when people are looking forward to dying so they won't have to deal with the current problems of the world. My neighbors are noisy, and inconsiderate. I gave up drinking my wine which did relax me. Many people are seeking Therapy for their mental health ( If you can find one who will see you in person and not through a computer). People just don't care anymore about our fellow human beings. Thank you for offering us HOPE. You are greatly appreciated. Sending you loving, healing thoughts, Cindy

Hi! I am an artis in my 60s and have lived in a very multicultural inner city area in the UK for many years now. I love the variety of cultures, clothes, styles and languages. I find it fun to try and learn some basic conversational words in different community languages. We also have a lot of drug related problems and homelessness in the area, and sometimes people can be quite loud in their opinions. But i also know that that each of us has a story... and I don't think anyone actually chooses to be unlikeable. So I find it helps (my own state of mind at least) to try being more compassionate when someone's behaviour gets on my nerves.... What they choose to do with that is not my business. How I respond to people is...

Having been caught up in grief & the menopause for quite some time, if I get up, shower & feed us Im doing well.

We want everything now without the work and self gratuation of achievement with our hands and hard work. I'm extremely lucky to be on land, but also worked hard to achieve what we have. I maintain a very low carb lifestyle, and alcohol inhibits fat burn. And lately it makes me disappointed with myself when I have drinks. It doesn't make me feel better, or to even relax. You are so right that making yourself feel better shouldn't be bad for you. Unhealthy treats are detrimental to me personally.

It seems like it‘s going like that everywhere in Europe and it’s hard to stomach. Being outdoors does help as well as journaling and I admit sometimes even binge eating or random shopping sprees (but they come with regrets). As far as copying people goes, I always find it fair if a creator mentions the creator they were „inspired“ by. You should be given credit by the person using your work as inspiration.

The United States has been upside down and all twisted up with darkness for years and it's only getting worse. The light has to shine in all the darkest places to help set things clear and bright again. These are hard times for everyone for sure. Add to that any kind of personal issues and times can feel very tough. When things are like that for me I definitely give myself everything that I know will help me feel comforted and safe. Whether it's in my PJs all day long binge watching my favorite programs or not eating as well as I typically do... it's okay. I have to be careful to make sure I exercise enough when I'm feeling particularly tender. Sitting down at my art table always makes me feel better as it is a wonderful distraction from reality. Or better said, it creates the kind of reality that makes me feel good! Everything you speak of is pretty much what I also engage in. I do also spend an extra bit of time in the mornings and evenings when I'm just going to sleep or just waking up in a deep state of Prayer. In hard times I call upon my guides and ancestors to step things up for me and help in any way they can to make a situation lighter and brighter and give hope to darker times. Take care everyone! These are hard times and eventually they will get better. I think it's extremely important to envision the best outcome for any troubling issue in your life. See it as you wish it to be and believe that this is a possibility. Miracles do happen. We do create our world and lives, so it is very important to have the best thoughts and visions and hopes and dreams. Do not fall into a place of fear.. Remember to ask for help when times get particularly rough. You have guides and angels and ancestors all around you just waiting to be of assistance. Much love and Aloha to all. And a huge thank you, Wendy, for creating this lovely platform for all of us to share and not feel so alone with all of our struggles and challenges. 💖💫🌺💞🌈🙋‍♀️

This happened on top of 6 months of stress - a major move to a new state, to start a new job, to help with elderly parents… leaving the state that I’d lived in for 30+ years… on top of recently turning 60… Your video is a gentle and lovely reminder for me to take care of myself - even if it’s just ‘little’ things. So, I decided to work from home today with my balcony door open, the sun shining in… and, I won’t let myself open my work computer until the ‘normal’ start time versus my habit of getting to work an hour to hour and a half early and staying an hour late 🤦‍♀️ because I’m the ‘newbie’ & I’ve been ‘feeling my age’ mentally… like I can’t keep up. Anyway, I’ve been in my winter cave for so long, that when on the first warm day I took a long hike around the wormhole loop & then I was so sore, I had to take a warm bath & then I just collapsed. But, I’m ready for spring. I need to stretch & see the world in bloom.
You have so much energy and flutter your hands, eyes & dance around so much, it looks like you could almost fly. You probably draw your positive energy from your colorful art studio & paintings.

Wendy I took a break from several things to watch your video…I never watch you tube videos during the day unless I need a tutorial for a task or getting specific information about something. Partly because you tube has become like a bag of potato chips for me…. Can’t eat just one - well, usually I can’t watch just one! Everything you had to say was sensible, spot on, and certainly good for me today! I’ve had a very disrupted life for the past month or so…. Some of the disruption was due to something that, in itself, isn’t a bad thing, but it totally turned my schedule upside down, disrupted my sleep, and interfered with getting things done. It is a time that doesn’t have an exact end date, and no short term expectation of being “over”. We should be aware that any change in our lives, even a positive one, can be “bumpy”as we integrate the new thing, routine, person, pet, job, living space, job, into our life. Your reminders of self care were awesome. Great specific tips. I’m very fatigued and getting over an infection so need to try to get a rest later. It’s OKAY! And I am totally missing my creative time. That impacts me a lot!
Keeping you “company” as you put it has great benefits for me! My day is better for having spent some time with you! Thanks!

Thank you Wendy. Things are indeed bumpy and the thing that I need to let go of is my job. Unfortunately I can’t quit without another one in place and the one I do have is draining everything out of me - including the energy to start the job search. I’m trying to keep as bright as I can and have hope that I can make me life better. I appreciate you putting the video up when you are coping with pain and stress as well ❤️ thank you
