Rogue: we are expensive because people want quality products that are made in USA
PRx: hold my beer...
I thought the same. Why would I buy this for 2500 when I could get a rogue for less.
Yeah I'm not seeing $1000 extra value.
I'm glad to see this doesn't suffer the same design flaw as almost every other foldable rack. At 12:19 you can see that it's capable of being lifted up and down. This is essential because other (poorly designed) racks don't do that, which prevents the feet from planting firmly on the ground. Instead, the rack (and all the weight) is basically suspended from the wall, cantilevered out from the hinge. It means that you have to install those racks at the *perfect* height so that the feet barely skim the ground while folding (and god help you if your floor is uneven) and it'll only make contact with the floor once you put weight on it and it's bent downward.
Would this be an issue on the Prx Profile racks as well that fold down vertically?
@@-m7778 I don't know how the mechanism / hinge on those are designed, but since it's meant to move in the up/down direction already, I suspect it would be ok.
If I was looking for a folding rack this would be the one. I love this design and the idea of having some assistance when folding or unfolding the rack. PRX’s facility is an hour away. I plan to make a trip there in the near future. Very much looking forward to seeing it in person. They are making some awesome equipment. Thanks so much for the great review.
I have their wall mounted weight plate holder. It's amazing
Hi Coop, love the video (and the channel as a whole)!
Could you please review the new Major Lutie Lightning F35 Folding Power Rack? I know the quality of Major Lutie isn't the greatest, but I'm really intrigued with the ability of the post width to be adjusted to allow for wider cable flies as I can't stand doing flies with cables on normal power racks with widths of 47"/49". Thanks!
I'd like to know how far it sticks out from the wall when retracted, and compared to PRX's fold up and the Rogue folder.
It's nice. It's not $2500 nice. Especially when you have the Rogue option for over $1000 less. And as Coop said most of these don't get folded up so it's a lot of money for a hinge that doesn't get used by a lot of the users.
To be fair, the prx system is spring loaded so it's easier to fold away. That being said, I would probably get squat stands over any foldaway rack if I had no space.
Thank you bmstylee! I just clicked on and went for the comments. Sometimes another opinion does indeed make a person think. Stay well!
Might be cheaper to build a small addition to your garage to make room for a normal rack
Been waiting almost 5 years for a review on any of rogue’s folding options
I feel like they should come out with an attachment for pinning the arms together so you can use the side that faces out when folded in for things you might need a post for like dip bars or some pull up bars. Adds more functionality while also allowing more space for people with little space to work with.
Need to see a comparison video to the rogue rack!
Also, the REP PR-4000 uses 5/8th inch holes. If you want to add a nice pull system, the REP Lat/Low Row system may work with this (as would other PR 4000 accessories, I'd guess).
I am looking at the Athena Wall mount with dual selectorized (Added weights) pulley system. With Spotter arms and and band attachments, you get a small system with a functional trainer. Being mounted to the wall seems to add stability as well as the selectorized weights. Adding the seat attachment will allow for pull downs and low rows. More expensive, but what I’m looking for.
Could you please do a round up of some selectorized leg extension/leg curl machines. I’ve been really missing this since switching to a home gym
looks like took 'Garage Gym' to heart
Great product, definitely would consider buying this. WITHOUT A DOUBT…..SICKKKKK!!! 💪
Force USA Myrack Space Saver looks to have similar functionality but for much loss cost... Can you review this product?
Coop what is the general loading capacity for studs? I was contemplating how safe my current setup is having 2 pairs each of 10-25kg plates plus an extra pair of 25kg plates on 4 rogue stringers across two studs. With this having the mass so far away from the wall, how much stress is this putting on load bearing studs and how close to failure could these take studs to start splintering?
I was about to order this rack during black Friday, but when you added the shipping costs, the deal did not equal its competitors' prices. I still haven't decided and am waiting for a Christmas miracle to purchase this rack because I'm looking forward to all the upcoming accessories. My gym would have to go in my basement, so my choices are limited. Thanks for your honest reviews, and if PRX can give you a special code for free shipping over a certain amount, I would purchase my entire gym from them.😅
Awesome; how many inches from the wall when open?
No ETA or price range for the attachments (leg extension, jammer arms...) ??
can you purchase the bracket system alone?
Now this seems hella cool
Springs are a great inclusion
What folding rack would you recommend for low ceiling height? My gym area is only 12x14 with the max height allowed for the rack being 81.5". HELP PLEASE
How big is the bolt that goes into the studs?
I would definitely get this rack if I hadn't just bought their fold down rack in March. Maybe in two years 🙏
Can’t wait to see the jammer arms. Also this rack is nice.
Expensive but you buy what you can afford and need to see the eco system they develop. You can use rouge 5/8 monster lite stuff. Thank Coop for this review
Can this work with the anchor 3?
Any thoughts on the, ZEUS FITNESS V2.0 XT Folding Rack?
So what's the best value for money foladable rack? I meed one of your home gym on a budget based around foladable power cages 😬... please.
Does anyone know if rogue is going to make anything to compete with the Rep Ares?
would you say this is strong enough to hold the Bulletproof Isolator?
Please review the King Smith WR1 Foldable Row Machine. It’s $550ish and looks great for small spaces
Can you do a sandbag-d ball review?
What is the best way to mount these to cinder block? Tapcons?
Yep. You may want to mount wood stringers with tapcons into the mortar lines and then mount the rack bracket into those stringers with lag screws.
Would love if they had something like this for apartments that dont have to be attached to a wall
"PRX sent us this for an "honest" review"..... Shows up on my newsfeed a half hour later as a GGR commercial. Good job, Pillar 4 for maintaining integrity. 😂
I need a place to store weight plates (up to 50 lbs) with 1 inch holes. I would like to have detachable weight pegs for both the rear posts. The radius of a 50 lb plate is about 8 inches. To accommodate them, the holes in the rear posts would need to be about 10 inches away from the wall. Otherwise, this rack is a step in the right direction.
I would like to see weight stack add-on option for this rack. I would spend 4k+ for this design with a weight stack. I have been working on my home gym for 3 months now. 3 months to go! Sorry Coup, Its in the basement. but it does have a wide walkout door!
I wonder if they can make more money just selling the bracket system that could be used with other competitors racks?
This rack is exactly what I'm looking for right now. But I'm having a hard time justifying the additional cost vs Rogue, especially when Rogue has cheaper shipping and comes with safety straps - PRx said safety straps are coming for this but not available yet.
I'm glad they're working on accessories for it, but should have had some key ones ready to go at launch.
Yeah they should be including several accessories at that price. Im a bit disappointed
@@TheJBSFamily and with Coop saying it's 31" vs. 3-" depth, not sure the Rogue safety straps would work.
@jordanglickson5644 Yeah not a huge fan of them doing that purely for the fact of being forced to buy their accessories. I get it I guess, but still
@@TheJBSFamily I get it I guess if those accessories were available at launch.
I love this design! But the price really makes me think twice.
In my case I would need to ship it outside the US and just by doing that I would be charged twice the price for it.
Will have to wait for a better option.
I need a cable machine with a smith machine and duel adjustable pullys for cable flys. under 80" tall, plate load or stack, anyone got ideas?
a cable machine - might want to look at the Athena or Ares from rep
If you're on a budget go with the Bells of Steel cable tower (plate loaded) or their stack version.
Thanks- will do
Not really a budget, just height problem
I am looking at the Athena Wall mount with dual selectorized (Added weights) pulley system. With Spotter arms and and band attachments, you get a small system with a functional trainer. Being mounted to the wall seems to add stability as well as the selectorized weights. Adding the seat attachment will allow for pull downs and low rows. More expensive, but what I’m looking for.
Have you tried the major fitness folding rack?
They should’ve matched width and height of Rep. Doing their own dimensions is a killer in my opinion. The size of their eco system and the cost just isn’t justifiable. I used to own their fold down rack and loved it but ultimately sold it and got a Rep PR-5000 and couldn’t be happier.
Coop did you or someone burp at 3:08?
they need to make a 3x3 1" hole - More or less the industry's standard for a lot of the attachments.
I wonder why they didn’t
@@Farquad76.547 The CEO talks about it in the factory tour video. They really want the Westside hole spacing in the bench area (not possible with 1" holes) and the CEO was confident that 5/8 is all any customer would need because the bolts/hardware are rated for something like 50,000 pounds. And of course the cost impact.
100%
Great concept, however, the price of 2500 is obscenely expensive.
I wanna see those jammer arms
Rogue isn’t a competitor, no one is going to go through the trouble of assembling and disassembling that system more than twice a year. If you plan on storing it weekly or daily, this is the only viable option. If you’re David Goggins and enjoy doing something tedious before and after every workout to build character, fine, get the rogue but it’s just not realistic for most people
Anybody know how much equity Mr. Wonderful got on Shark Tank?
20% on the show
Nice rack (don't say it), but it seems a little silly to have assisted folding feature for this price point. VERY expensive. :-o
I want it :D
when a power rack gives the average American home 500% more structural integrity
1k more for something better that youll use 4 days a week for the next decade. not too shabby to me. thing is nice af, if you need a folding system
Ouch 😢
REP Athena all the way!
Drop Test... Drop Test... Drop Test... Drop Test...
As for the rack, I don't know. Rouge is pretty well supported now, so the future PRx support is a bit iffy. That said, I do like the rack, so I could be persuaded... but I already have a Rep 4000, which takes up a lot of space... Maybe? Of course, that extra $1k could buy a lot of weights or a new computer or a few electronic toys for the gym.
I'm hoping they have a plan where they will lower the price in the future once enough of them sell to pay off the R&D costs. That is likely a large chunk of the price.
They need to get that price down. 4 post rack shouldn't cost that much
Coop: People get folding rack thinking they'll still park in their garage and then never do.
Me: I am in this statement and I don't like it
Coop going full attack mode there.
no 1 inch holes, no care.
Boom goes the dynamite
1st
No worth 2500$. FOH
Too expensive
Overpriced…. PASS
Yeah they can say they are in it to make attachments long term, but every other company that has said that has pretty much flopped on that promise including rogue and their shitty pulley attachment.
For that price you can get that rack that turns into a bed, and just have your rack in your bedroom instead of your garage. It also doesn't have 1 inch holes, so I am out. Skewing away from standardization for literally no reason other than "tiny hole is strong enough you don't need big hole" is an idiotic take on engineering.
LOL, a Murphy Bed squat rack!
@@chrisb4457It's the PIVOT squat rack.
