      It’s honestly better than Rogues, which seems roughly to be get sponsored athletes design equipment for themselves and spend no time testing with their actual consumers. Then when it turns out the product doesn’t work for their actual consumers, immediately release an update (20% of the time) that pisses off early adopters or do absolutely nothing for 3 years or more until a new product kinda maybe sorta tries to address the flaws of the first.
      I think reps marketing of their r&d is better than their actual r&d which is mostly just listening to their actual customers and the reviewers that represent them. While they’re awesome at this, Titan does the same and is catching up.

      It's pretty good, but that hinge would annoy the crap out of me sitting on it/hitting my hip/butt on it every day in flat position. No thanks. Worth paying the extra $100 for Rep's benches that are way better and proven for years.

    • @melkorbane
      @melkorbane 6 месяцев назад

      @@JonHanner-un7ef
      You’re meant to bench fully on the back pad as is referenced 3+ times in this video.
      Reps 5200 is less stable (Coop mentions this), half and inch taller (17.5”) and less comfortable (the pad thickness is 1/2 inch less)
      Titans is the clear winner for less money.
      He’s not going to come out and say that with Rogue and Rep being 80% of the reason he has a multi million dollar review business and they both send him all this for free.

    • @JonHanner-un7ef
      @JonHanner-un7ef 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@melkorbane Either way, I'd just wait for people to buy it and actually review it.
      It's like when titan released their 'made in usa safety squat bar'. Hyped it up a bunch but it was crap. They do that a lot with their first version releases. In the end, these reviews are only worth so much. I wouldn't be the first in line to buy a titan bench knowing all their other adjustable benches are pretty awful.

    • @melkorbane
      @melkorbane 6 месяцев назад

      @@JonHanner-un7ef Bought it. Used it. The hinge is a complete non issue. If you have even minimal arch you won't feel it. Even with no arch it's not uncomfortable with 200 lbs on the bar.
      Not even sure what the reviewers are talking about. I'm not convinced they actually really tried benching on this thing.
      It's also way higher build quality than my Rep FB 5000, and the vinyl is noticeably better. I already miss the extra cushion on the 5000 but I'm still going to sell it. My hope was I could replace 2 benches with one and this is 10x better than my ironmaster for adjustable benching and 90% as good as my FB 5000 for flat benching - and better for almost every other workout I'd do with a bench for both of them because of how much more stable it is.
      Definite win for me.

    Coop, can you please do a review and comparison of the Keppi Bench5000?
    I'm not seeing why someone would go with any other more expensive bench right now (besides maybe the Iron Master for the versatility) since the Keppi is consistently on sale for around $300 and includes decline with leg holders, zero gap technology, and comparable sturdiness/weight capacity.
    I guess the Keppi bench is more than 17" high off the ground so maybe that's the main downside but otherwise I'm not seeing much else so I would love to get a detailed analysis of it to find out what makes other benches from big names worth spending $150+ more.

    Titan with their last 2 releases, this bench and the new squatmax have upped their game. They seem to be going after REP's customers and I'm glad to see it but my ecosystem is REP so I'll stay with REP but they just stole a lot of sales from REP.
    I dont think Titan will ever get Rogue's customers because Rogue is just too expensive for Titan to mess with but this is good for all home gym customers now that Titan has a legit sit at the big boy table.
    Nice going Titan, you hit a homerun, now keep it up!!!!!

    • @melkorbane
      @melkorbane 7 месяцев назад

      Lol. The mindfu** rep has accomplished to convince people like you that you’re buying from anything more than Titan + product managers is impressive.
      You’re buying from a company that ripped and slightly refined other peoples ideas and moved the manufacturing to China to sell it cheaper than the original.
      This bench is doing exactly what rep did with the 5200. They’re both stealing from the same source but Titan actually refined more and dropped the height to actual comp spec and added some thickness to the pad to make it more comfortable for heavy flat bench.

      @@melkorbaneso what do you recommend?

    • @melkorbane
      @melkorbane 4 месяца назад

      @@AnontheGOATthis. I bought it day one and am quite happy.
      My only complaint is the same as some other reviews have pointed out-the wheels don’t sit quite far enough out so it’s easy to lift it too high when wheeling and ground it out - making it slightly more annoying to move than it already is by being so heavy. I still do it almost every session though.
      It has successfully replaced my Ironmaster + rep fb5000 by being a way better adjustable bench than Ironmasters and about 85% as good as the rep even though it’s not a dedicated flat bench. Cleared some room for my Nordic/ghd/back extension from Freak which I also love.

    • @AnontheGOAT
      @AnontheGOAT 4 месяца назад +1

      @@melkorbane appreciate the feedback. I’m leaning towards the REP black wing. Specifically cause it has no gap plus wide pad option. Plus the built in decline is an added bonus.

    • @melkorbane
      @melkorbane 4 месяца назад

      @@AnontheGOAT
      Black wing is probably a better bench but it’s significantly more money.
      I bought a wide pad for my fb 5000 and gave it away. Unless you’re huge or using it for nordics it’s not worth it. It gets in the way of my bench because my grip is on the narrow end and I can’t get full rom .
      I also think decline is highly overrated. If you’re not already doing it you’re probably not going to start.
      I’m sure you’ll be very happy with it-but those are my thoughts and why I didn’t go black wing.

      I rather bench press on a flat bench than an adjustable bench. I own both-- that is, two flat benches and two adjustable benches. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't have bought my adjustable benches.

    This looks like a great bench, and you gotta admit Titan came in at 100 bucks less and free shipping!! I really don't understand why most, if not all, companies don't include decline. Am I missing something, like decline work just isn't beneficial or something. Since I have limited space so I am still leaning towards Iron Master. I hate the padding ( a friend has one) but if you try to change it you can't use thicker foam because the addons won't work. (seat etc etc).

    • @melkorbane
      @melkorbane 6 месяцев назад

      I have and am going to sell the ironmaster. I kind of hate it. I bought the pro pad too and it's way too thin/hard for flat bench - and slippery af. Even with the anti slip mat i bought for it, it ruins my shoulders on flat bench so I still use my Rep FB 5000. My goal was to replace my FB with an adjustable I could flat bench with and ironmaster failed miserably (and wasn't cheap). I also hate the seat being an attachment - sometimes I don't want a 90 degree angle between the back and seat but I have no choice.
      I bought this for $405 with the 10% off coupon. I've been waiting for over a year for a bench with these exact specs. I was going to buy the Rep 4100 on a sale instead but Coop's review on this things stability (and also the premium look of this thing) sold me.
      On decline work - it's mostly useless. If you love doing decline work definitely do it and spend an extra $100+ for a bench that supports it. But I personally prefer dips for a ton of reasons. Usually when you see high level body builders or strength athletes doing decline work it's a very mild decline (because there are better exercises like dips to hit the same muscles as a steep incline) - i.e. one that you could achieve with any flat bench (or this bench) and a short block or weight plate.

      Agreed, Looks like a great bench - especially for the $$. But no decline is a deal breaker for me as well. That said, I typically decline bench at shallow angles. So might be possible to just elevate front foot a bit with a block of wood etc.

    I don't get this whole grippy vinyl pad thing. Honestly, for Powerlifting it is important but as a powerlifter you would choose a flat bench for bench pressing anyway. For bodybuilding / fitness training a more slicky pad is way better because it allows the shoulder blades / scapulas to slide freer during the movements. I wish the companys would offer two versions of pads for their new benches. A grippy version for powerlifting and a more slicky one for bodybuilding.

      yeah but he was comparing it to the 5200 2.0 with decline. that is still 550/580 with decline. comparing the 5200 original with the titan, just looking at them the titan looks more stout. compared to the 2.0 they look about even build wise. would probably go with the titan over the original 5200. if you want decline then the 2.0

    About 75% of my home gym is Titan (20% Rep, 5% Nuobell). I generally like the intersection of value and quality they offer. Made in America is nice, but it's often more expensive than I would choose to spend. I would buy this today...if I didn't already own the Rep 5200.

  • @ak-zw8jv

    Rep is still the king of benches. With titans reputation for customer service or lack thereof I would just go rep. And im a t2 owner and own plenty of titan equipment. Anything you touch (barbell or bench) makes sense to go elsewhere.
