@@EJH-jn6mo Don't worry, they're great. I've been using them four days a week for three years. No problems. If you take care of your stuff, it will last a long time. Like he said, probably not 30 years. But, they now sell replacement parts.

This! I work in Finland and it’s the same there. People in job interviews will actually really tell you there weak points. It’s refreshingly naive and awesome
A breath of fresh air to hear an honest manufacturer. Showing their product proudly but also their limitations. Nothing sells better than honesty, a lesson for all marketing driven retailers out there.
The best kind of interview you can have, a guy who is confident in his product, understands it inside and out, and is dead honest about its pro's and con's. Excellent.
Wow wish that guy the best. The sheer amount of honesty in a competitive market shows character. Just look like a guy who’s passionate and open to improvement.
I LOVE this level of honesty. I'm way more proud of my purchase of the v1's after watching this, which I've really enjoyed. I just want a way to get up to 120lbs
Tomas the nuobell engineer giving us a flat out engineering lesson. I have a set. And now I love the brand even more. Especially since they are selling replacement parts.
This guy is incredible. So honest and reflected. Awesome. The new dumbbells look great. Although I must say I have been using the v1 almost daily for 4 years now and they are still as good as new. Work perfect.
It was an absolute delight to watch and listen to the Swedish engineer, I have not personally seen or heard anyone from any company be as direct and truthful about their products pros, cons and logic behind the decisions made. Seriously, well done.
I have the first gen in my home gym (set it up during covid) and I'm still blown away by how awesome they are. Best investment I've ever made in my gym and myself. This gen 2 looks even better. But literally no need for me. The max 80 lbs is more than enough for my needs right now.
Great to hear that they're making durability improvements to the original handles. If I ever break mine and need to get replacements, it's nice to know I'll be getting a better version. Such a breath of fresh air to hear from a no BS engineer.
I hope they keep this guy in the booth for future interviews. Love the honesty, engineering focus, but I hope his honesty doesn't get him in trouble at the home office for speaking with Coop vs somebody more marketing focused.
He won't. Honesty is the key in Nordic countries, marketing/commercials some times even point out their own flaws just because it's better to be honest than not to, pure and simple.
I saw the video and started sweating since I just bought the 80lbs set. Glad I did though, love them so far and I'm glad to see someone represent the brand so well. You can tell he isn't a sales man and was the brains behind it. Refreshing to see as an engineer.
I hate feeling like I'm being sold something, and the fact that that guy didn't try to sell me his product and instead gave me facts made me want to buy it lol.
a very honest guy. It's true you can easily replace the handle - I just did it with my Nüobell and its like new. a piece inside broke after 1,5 years of regular use. My dealer gave me the handle for free. still happy with Nüobell.
If equipment companies wanted some real amazing marketing, have the engineers talk to some of the influencers. This is the best advertising I have ever seen for dumbbells.

Gotta love the honesty. The majority of the population (even fitness population) isn't putting up heavy weights so I get why the low start weight is important.
Kind of disagree. Their target market would be different. If a light start weight was the goal, I don't understand why they would go up to 90lbs. That makes sense for a 50lb type set.
20 plus years with Powerblock 50lb in a garage gym setting. Still going strong. A little beat up but they just work. Always looking at new stuff though. Keep up the good work Coop!
It is a simpler mechanism, I worry about some of these newer ones, if they'll hold up over time. It's stood the test of time. You could say it's still the conservative choice.
I like this guy, his knowledge and honesty prompted me to order a pair of PowerBlock Elite USA 90 Pounders. When he said "I always like PowerBlock for example" that was good enough for me.
I have been using my nuobells almost every day for two years in Japan. I have never had a problem with at all. They are best adjustable dumbbells you can get here for a decent price that are not chinese junk.
“NÜO Athletics started in 1997 by Tomas Svenberg who was a rower on Sweden’s national team. He realized that to reach peak performance, he had to work out at home as well. However, gym equipment didn’t meet the professional standard he needed to push his physical limits. So, he sketched the blueprints for a dumbbell that could replace an entire set of fixed dumbbells while avoiding complex weight changes - and with that, Nuobell was born.”
I like that you addressed a possible barbell adjustable. You know what needs to happen, is a swap able bar. Being able to swap the bar between a dumbbell size bar & a barbell sized bar! Just spread the weights accordingly and sell the exact same mechanism attached on both ends of the barbell
Interesting to hear him briefly talk about patent infringements and the cost of enforcing their intellectual property. I wonder if any of the other big competitors will face patent claims from Nuo at some point? The Pepin/Reppin seams different enough with it's locking mechanism that I think it'll be fine. Either way, I've had my Nuobells for over 2 years and they've been great so far.

Definitely a Scandinavian trait too
