Reminds me of that perfect censored moment when Buford T. Justice accepts that officer's apology. Funny, I watched the movie for the first time yesterday!

Thank you for watching it. My Dad was a long truck driver , back in the day. He is my best friend , He taught me how to drive. And at 78 yrs old and still going. I'll let you do the math.

I swear, no matter how many times I watch Smokey & the Bandit . . . . IT NEVER GETS OLD, this movie was made when there were no home computers and no cell phones! FUCK I MISS THE 1970's!
@GabaGhoul Omg....yes! I think one of my fav Jackie Gleason's lines was when he was mad at his kid....saying something like....'there's no way, no way did you come from my loins...first thing when I get home, is I'm gonna punch your momma in the mouth....(mean sounding....but was funny)! Plus, when he pulled over some teenagers.....somewhere telling them 'what not' to do on his highway. HILARIOUS stuff!
He was the best. But when he went up to glory, he took with him Paul Crewe, Dan August, Ralph Sharkey, Sonny Hooper, and of course Bobby "Gator"McCluskey. May they a ll RIP. Oh, and Stroker Ace.
Saw this movie as a kid and it is the reason I'm a Professional Truck Driver today, I saw how much fun they were having made me want to DRIVE!! 2.0 Million SAFE miles later im still proud of what I do and wouldn't do anything else!! 10-4 over and out! "Gummy Bear" on the side.
My dad was a long haul driver when I was a kid growing up. I still get chills every time I hear the rig start in the opening scene. I went on several road trips with my dad and they are some of my most precious memories of him and I together. He even let me drive for the first time when I was 17 and I'll never forget it. We had just dropped a load at the Great Dane trailer factory in Savannah, Georgia. We were standing on the dock after they were done unloading us and he just casually looks over at me and says why dont you go pull the truck out from the dock and park it. I was in shock, but Ill tell you this, as I climbed up into the cab of that Freightliner I felt like the king of the world. I probably only drove a couple hundred feet but did it all by myself and will never forget how proud my dad was. It was the best feeling ever.
I saw this at the theater last Sunday for the first time in 40 years. I saw it 4 times when it came out and about 90 times in between. You can't get tired of it.
I saw it in the theater for the first time then. I saw it on our ship's TV a bunch of times in 78 but never the whole thing all the way through. It was fantastic in the theater.
when I was young dad recorded this movie on VHS in the 80's. My brother and I watched it daily before school, getting up early just to do so. Dad died when I was 11 and I can't even see the movie cover without welling up. reminds me of the happiest years of my life
Holy shit was watching smokey and the bandit today and just heard the legend himself has passed away this and the sequel were some of my childhood movies and it makes me so sad that another icon of Hollywood has left us RIP bandit we will all miss you. Burt Reynolds 1936-2018
He was one of my inspire to start acting in theater, just because I watched this movie when I was 6. I’m now 17, and own this and the sequel on VHS and DVD, plus the third one on DVD

When I drove, I could hear him sing this song while I was going down Mount Eagle. RIP JERRY REED!!! BY THE WAY, WHO ARE THE PEOPLE WHO DISLIKE THIS SONG???!!! REALLY??!! HATERS!!!
My Childhood and my whole life is Smokey and the Bandit I'm A trucker because of it and I miss them all so bad Burt Reynolds reminds me of my Dad so much riding up and down I-95 from Philly to Miami with my Dad in his 81 Z28 Camero and my mom's 79 trans Am listening to Jerry Reed And Bad Company with my Dad getting hotel room and stopping at All the old independent truck stops buying diecast Truck And Watching the trucks go by at night stopping at South of the Border and watching the Golden Girls in the hotel rooms ordering Chinese food and Pizza and stopping at diners
Smokey And The Bandit is the movie that gave me a love for the C.B. lingo, Pontiac Trans Am, the trucker genre of music and movies! Can't forget The Duel, Black Dog, and Convoy! I remember a T.V. series B.J. and the Bear! I saw a RUclips video with 5 iconic trucks! It's called Stars-Aligned, five iconic trucks together!
I saw this movie as a kid. The second I saw this opening scene I knee I wanted to be a truck driver. I was blessed to spend my life on the road. Never could have found a better job. God bless all my brothers still out there.
Saw this movie when I was 7. Couldn't wait to get into a big rig. Been driving a tanker for almost 30 years. Still love going through the gears. Something about sitting up high. Going through the gears I just never get tired of. This movie just brings back so many great memories.

I remember seeing the movie and not getting the references. I do now at a young age of 17. I hope you have a good week Miss Gene. they will live on in our memories and hearts :D
Theres a reason the opening ending and much of the movie revolves around this particular 18 wheeler first of all its as beautiful as can be and its in a way the overall hero of the movie
I was 12 when this movie came out and it took us 3 days to get in the theater to see it cause the line was out the door and across the parking lot every day. Finally we got in after coming back for 3 days. We weren't disappointed
Trucking today isn't what it was when I started 20 years ago either, not even close, and it was different 20 years ago than it was 40 years ago. Glad I got out of trucking all together just 3 years ago. Smokey and the Bandit is much why I ever started driving trucks. Glad I did it, but I don't miss it. Not even a little. Only a few cast members left from the main characters of the original Smokey and the Bandit. Gone but never forgotten.
Richard Wood I started driving 45 years ago. Bought a 1975 Pete 359 brand new and still drive it to this day. I remember coming home one night after a week on the road and seeing an advertisement for the movie on tv. Marched my ass to the movie theater and watched that damn movie. Still watch it many a time to this day. I’ve done some upgrades to my 359, it now has a Jake brake, a tv in the sleeper, and some other modern upgrades. I have Smokey and the bandit on dvd and watch it in my sleeper.
I drive loads all over the 50 states and I met a guy name berry and he was singing this song at the truck stop and it sounded good I asked him what's the name of the song he said you need to watch smokey and the bandit and I said okay. I watch the movie and I love it may burt Reynolds rest in peace and all the rest of them who passed away in the movie.
I was 12 when this movie came out. I’d never heard Jackie Gleason talk that way on “The Honeymooners” and I developed a lasting respect for him after that. Sumbitch!!!🤣🤣
Use to run across Mont Eagle in a 94 setback axle international cabover 330 Cummins 9 speed no Jake brake. McClendon Trucking Lafayette AL on the door. When my dad started the only way across was US 41. That's a fun run.
Me and my father and my mother and brother used to love watching this movie now i think of my father everytime i watch this movie rip Richard Lee Ybanez
The Snowman and the Bandit together again. The world will miss you. You will always be the ONLY Bandit. My Mom took us all to see this movie back in 1977 in Orlando Florida at a drive in movies and I fell in love with this movie and everything about it The Snowman was the more humble one of the group and I liked that he was always good to Fred. The Bandit was the bigger than life personality. Sally Field was so beautiful and Sherriff Beauford T Justice was the stereotypical Southern Sherriff that you would not want to mess with. It took me a while to understand as a kid how the Bandit was supposed to be the legendary truck driver but never drove the truck in the movie I was too young to understand the fact that in the movie this time around the bandit would be in a car . This movie was about a particular sweet beautiful much simpler place in time. The world was somehow happier then despite being without many of the modern conveniences of today. My Mom was young and strong I really miss it and I would give anything to go back to that time.
I imagine that every adult when they look back on their childhood they have "THE" film that was definitive, the one they remember enjoying the most and watching over and over again that they never got tired of. For me, in the UK as a five year old boy in 1990, Smokey and the Bandit was that film! I absolutely love it. It sparked my love for American trucks, Kenworth's in particular, and Jerry Reed's music. While Bandit was the main character, for me as a child Snowman was my favorite, with Fred and the awesome truck! Although it wasn't until I was older and better understood the film, that I twigged the truck belonged to Bandit and Snowman was just driving it. A truly wonderful, wild ride of a film that's fun for all! Hal Needham struck absolute gold with Smokey and the Bandit, and the film returning $300 million at the box office (from a $4.3 million budget) was the proof!
I was 6 when this came.out in 1977 and I'm 48 now. But I remember seeing this move like it was yesterday! As a kid I think my favorite line was, "I'M GONNA BAH B Q YO ASS IN MALASIS!" I love the song, "They call you the Bandit", the scene when he and Frog were walking to the bridge at the park.
My dad took me to see the movie in 1977 when I was 8. When the Trans Am rolled out of the trailer I said to myself, " one day I'll own one". When I was 21 I did. Wish I still had it today. :( Loved the movie.
This is legendary. One of the greatest action car movies of all time. Snowman is one of the finest county pickers. When Chet Atkins is one of your guitar buddies, you're doing something right.
OMG I remember watching this with my grandfather who sadly is dead now but I still have his old 74 Ford rancheroGT :') and I still have the disc to this day.
I was in Vo-Tech diesel School in 1991. My instructor had called out sick and called in for a substitute. This poor lady had no idea idea what to do with us greaseball diesel guys. So he instructed her to play this movie, it was the most incredible School experience I've ever had in my life LOL. BTW I was 15.
15 and in vo tech? Lucky. Tennessee doesn’t have much education opportunities for people who want to go into trades. Gotta graduate high school or else johnny law comes after you
@@psd28 Vo tech was a weird thing. You could bring your parents' car in & it would be fixed right because they were doing it for a grade. Memphis especially should have kept the program going.
@@psd28 Good luck. Unfortunately, things are skewed to funding college education & not trade school education. Look into Tennessee Lottery Scholarships.
its like the back compartment of a car in north america is called the trunk and in europe its called the boot. and the front cover for the engine bay is called the hood in the usa and canada but europe calls it the bonnet.
I'm only 14 and I love this movie. I'm watching it right now. I have 3.25 years left till I can start driving truck. I plan on driving truck till it kills me. I want that kenworth from the movie. I try to tell everybody I can about Snowman and the Bandit
Fun fact: Smokey and the Bandit was one of Alfred Hitchcock's favourite guilty pleasure films. Not even kidding. I can just picture the master himself watching this classic 🤣
im only 12 an i love this movie and jerry reed, bandit to. i plan to get my trucking license and i will find a way to get that kenworth from 1975. i just love it.
These movies from what I’ve heard for years now are my dads favorites,I never really cared all too much nor payed attention to them until one day East Bound And Down popped into my mind at school,I then proceeded to listen to da song 4 da rest of da day! When I got home I found the DVD and went strait to my room and watched it and at that moment i began to realize why he loves these movies so much because I’ve became obsessed with them too! (Also my dad said he probably knows all of Buffords T Jusices lines lol) R.I.P Burt Reynolds you will be forever missed we love you and keep your foot hard on the peddle and keep right on trucking good buddy 10-4 little buckaroo and happy trails to you! Ride on concrete Cowboy!
I went to see somky and the bandit when it premiered. I feel head over heels in love with the black and gold bad ass T.A. my first car I ever bought was a 78 bandit Edition Trans Am. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I still have it today, and will be entering it into a car show this Saturday. To the Bandit and all who loved him. Rest in peace.
They dont make many fun movies like this one anymore. I was fortunate enough to own a 79 trans am when i was in high school , loved that car , but a 77 bandit edition could be in the future....
Mark Winfrey I wanted to BE a truck driver when I got old enough but I stopped growing at 5-1 so am too short...damn...I was upset because I new they made good money...oh well...
Yes Sir. Mr. Waylon I agree with that statement !!! And Mr. Stevie Ray and Mr. ALBERT together !!! It just don't get any better !!! You don't have to be a Blues fan to sit and listen to the Music they made together!!! I JUST CAN'T IMAGINE ANYONE WALKING AWAY FROM THE MUSIC THEY MADE !!!! RIP men ! !!! SRV was GREAT and he didn't get the chance to show us HOW GREAT HE COULD HAVE BEEN !!!
To the 583 people who disliked this video, do the letters F O mean anything to you?

I agree. I play it when I go on along drive and turn it up loud lol
Didn't need a cell phone when you had a CB.
"I just run along beside it, and drug my feet"🤣🤣🤣
The best movie opening hands down
you know it!
It ties with Convoy. But it's still great.
Mount Eagle is still bad. But old Mount Eagle on US 41 was worse.
In 63 it would have been Old Mount Eagle.
Yes sir

Just run along beside, and drug my feet!!!! BEST movie ever!!!!
I've worked with truckers for the thick end of 10 years and I wish more were like Bandit!
I was 12 when this movie came out. I’d never heard Jackie Gleason talk that way on “The Honeymooners” and I developed a lasting respect for him after that. Sumbitch!!!🤣🤣
Nothing like running down mount eagle in a KW listening to this song! I only have a 660 but she'll do for now. Be safe out there drivers!
Andrew Smith well, the t660 is built upon the w900 platform, it's just got a more aerodynamic body.
Use to run across Mont Eagle in a 94 setback axle international cabover 330 Cummins 9 speed no Jake brake. McClendon Trucking Lafayette AL on the door. When my dad started the only way across was US 41. That's a fun run.
Truckers! In Our Days more important than ever keepn daily live ALIVE!!! KEEP ON TRUCKING AND STAY HEALTHY!!!
Goose bumps every time I hear it .
Its just one of them songs 👍
“Which one of you is sheriff brandtford?”
“I am sheriff brandtford”
“Well, for some reason or another, you sounded a lot taller on radio”
Also if bandit didnt have air for the brakes my boy hit them jakes
You need anything from the Mission 😉😁 English trick
Bisquick you can get a good deal with it and I don't know if you are still looking for me lol but I can do the
play.
"What the Hell is this world coming to"

Great times back in 1978 living easy. I need a time machine hate 2020 want to get out of here. R.I.P. Burt
Love all the action movie.
Yeah R.I.P Burt Reynolds
Amen
Exactly my experience with this movie. I managed to wear out the vhs cassette 🤣
Absolute classic movie. The first one was the best of the three.
Cinematography very good.
Song is underrated, really one of the greats about trucking.
The truck, the driver, the sounds, the time period: badass!
One of the best movies ever made. It will never die. Keep trucking boys. God bless bandit
Best movie intro I have ever seen to date!
I WAS 8 YRS OLD WHEN I SAW THIS AT THE MOVIES IN SAVANNAH GEORGIA WITH MY DAD. GREAT MEMORY.
Southern Blessing.... Why you lucky Devil!
I agree and your still looking sweet
From you comment would that make you 48 or 49
I was 6 when this came.out in 1977 and I'm 48 now. But I remember seeing this move like it was yesterday! As a kid I think my favorite line was, "I'M GONNA BAH B Q YO ASS IN MALASIS!"
I love the song, "They call you the Bandit", the scene when he and Frog were walking to the bridge at the park.
I love this opening. Hal Needham was a genius.
Love the song and the opening of the movie Jerry Reed is a legend its a shame he had to die
I was only 8 yrs oldl and sing it word for word when I watch everyday playing trucks on floor lol. One of the greatest of all time 🙌
Never be another movie that can match this one
My dad took me to see the movie in 1977 when I was 8. When the Trans Am rolled out of the trailer I said to myself, " one day I'll own one". When I was 21 I did. Wish I still had it today. :( Loved the movie.
This is legendary. One of the greatest action car movies of all time. Snowman is one of the finest county pickers. When Chet Atkins is one of your guitar buddies, you're doing something right.
Yup! Jerry and Chet were the very BEST of buddies!! Jerry gave Chet a run for his money on guitar!
OMG I remember watching this with my grandfather who sadly is dead now but I still have his old 74 Ford rancheroGT :') and I still have the disc to this day.
i was heading down the mount eagle grade today in my w9....jamed this the whole time rip snowman and the bandit
I’ve watched the greatest movie ever made from 1977 to 2023 and good lord’s willing I’m going to watch it till he calls me home!!!!!!!!✌🏻from Ga.
@@doughesson im going into my senior year of highschool looking for a school to learn diesel mechanics
@@psd28 Good luck.
Unfortunately, things are skewed to funding college education & not trade school education.
Look into Tennessee Lottery Scholarships.
i love the sound of big rigs
same, but tell me, lorry's are modern trucks like DAF, Scania, etc. and big rigs are old kenworths and peterbilts?
+wolfox712 usa calls it a truck, england calls it a lorry. same thing, different way of saying it.
+robert m k
+wolfox712 Pete's, KW's, Scania's and DAF's are all big rigs no matter which side of the pond you're on. Call them whatever you like. It's all good.
its like the back compartment of a car in north america is called the trunk and in europe its called the boot. and the front cover for the engine bay is called the hood in the usa and canada but europe calls it the bonnet.
I'm only 14 and I love this movie. I'm watching it right now. I have 3.25 years left till I can start driving truck. I plan on driving truck till it kills me. I want that kenworth from the movie. I try to tell everybody I can about Snowman and the Bandit
Dylan Meinhardt hmmmmmmmh

Playing this while driving a Kenworth hits different
Fun fact: Smokey and the Bandit was one of Alfred Hitchcock's favourite guilty pleasure films.
Not even kidding.
I can just picture the master himself watching this classic 🤣
Smokey and the Bandit was a trucker movie
The master ? He was horrible 😳
Alfred's shit was terrible 😔
@@jakestokes398 And your movies have won how many awards from when they were worth something?

They where great RIP Burt RIP Jackie RIP Snowman
I went to see somky and the bandit when it premiered. I feel head over heels in love with the black and gold bad ass T.A. my first car I ever bought was a 78 bandit Edition Trans Am. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I still have it today, and will be entering it into a car show this Saturday. To the Bandit and all who loved him. Rest in peace.
They dont make many fun movies like this one anymore. I was fortunate enough to own a 79 trans am when i was in high school , loved that car , but a 77 bandit edition could be in the future....
Fall guy too
Mark Winfrey I wanted to BE a truck driver when I got old enough but I stopped growing at 5-1 so am too short...damn...I was upset because I new they made good money...oh well...
