That’s good to know. My dealer told me it was not able to be replaced, only the entire unit. Guess I didn’t care because it was under warranty. Hopefully won’t have to replace it again
Feb. 2022 I bought 2015 3.0 ecodiesel 1500 Ram 114,000 miles I had put 200 miles on truck.. Fuel sensor fail flashing lite on dash then vehicle coasted to a stop. Dodge has to replace pump both fuel rails tank pickup, filter injectors flush fuel lines. I am still waiting on parts since Feb 2022. Fuel tank pickup is do in the middle of July
Maybe 2-3 hours? If you have no rust it will be easier. Draining the tank is essential. Either just running it close to empty or going off the fuel rail valve
Thanks for the info. Been having this issue and now i need to pass smog to register the damn truck 🤦♂️
Have not done a 2016 but did recently do a 2012 for same issue. Was the fuel pump. Replaced with an OE pump and customer was good to go.
Thank you for that! Sincerely
Just had this happen today on my 2017 ram. Would I need to change the whole pump and drop the tank or replace the sensor under the hood?
Well. I’m my case the pump with the integrated sensor was the problem. I do not know if the sensor under the hood would fix this.
The fuel sensor itself can be replaced by a chrysler part if you dont want to replace the whole assembly

2016 ram rebel , just a tad over 60,000 and this fuel sensor fail started then goes away then starts up again..
Same thing with me. I could clear the code or wait a few days and it would stop
Mine done this a few days ago. Earliest dealership is available is the end of the month. Is the truck still drivable with this fail? Thanks.
Hello. Yes you can still drive it. It does not put it in limp mode.
@@hdkevin4387 👍 Good looking out

Ugh. I assume the truck isn’t drivable?
Realistically about how long will I have in dropping the tank and replacing?
