  • Today’s vlog is raw and deeply personal. Many of you already know that my beloved mother passed away on July 18, 2023. The flood of messages I've received has made me realize that there are many of us currently grieving a loss. It’s easy to feel isolated. If sharing my personal journey of how I’m navigating my grief can provide comfort to even just one person, then I believe documenting it was well worth it. No one is alone.

I'm 49 and lost my mom 5 years ago, we were really close. You learn to live with her absence but you will always miss a phone call, her presence, her advice, vacations, every little detail, etc.
    Moms should be eternal.
I feel you and I send a big hug 🤗

I have lost quite a number of people I have loved a lot in my life. It is far from easy but you do get where the constant pain isn't present all the time and starts to lessen little by little.
What helped me is knowing I am a Spiritual Being not my body and that everyone with a body is a Spiritual Being. I know that we are able to connect without a body and so I had with a few of those I lost come to me in my dreams and this was very comforting.
I am sorry for your loss and especially because it is your Mother. That is a difficult one I know.
    Sending hugs

I know you will get many messages and probably mine will go unnoticed but since the first day I met your mom, she became part of my life. She looked so much like my mom and that made me love her more. My mom passed 20 years ago at the age of 67. She was loved by so many because of her kindness. I feel your pain and thou you don't know me I feel part of your world........I will always remember her and that beautiful smile of her..................many blessings and a big sisterly hugs.,,,,,,MINDY

That’s the thing about moms. They are there when you need them. They are there when you don’t. But you know that. You have a son. Don’t leave him out of this. He needs you now too. It’s been awhile since she passed, so I pray the grief has subsided. Maybe not. My mom has been gone since 2019 and some days I still want to call and tell her something. I’m saving those thoughts for when I see her again. That day is getting closer, I believe. We will all soon rise, first from the grave, and then we who are alive will rise just after them. I expect to meet my parents in the air. What a day that will be. Be prepared.

Losing a loved one is difficult for so many reasons and it’s then when you’ve been broken to your core, that quiet space, that’s when the Holy Spirit fills you with a peace unimaginable given the circumstances and your love of Jesus and our Lord just keeps growing and holds you safe with the promise of that wonderful reunion. May the Holy Spirit continue to bless your days. I loved your mom too. She did good with you; Thank you Dominique for sharing all of you with us! Keep smiling!

I am not sure how I came to see this video ....but I too believe in signs. I never knew what agony was until my Daddy passed. You are correct, you go through grief because you never get over it. I hug Mom a little longer, a little harder, I love her harder, I honor her deeply and thank our good Lord for every day that I still have her in this earth. Because I know, our Lord will want her by His side along with my Daddy. God Bless you Dominique....may you find solace in HIS arms.
    Numbers 6:24-26
    ‘May the Lord bless you

May the Lord smile on you

May the Lord show you his favor
    and give you his peace.’

Dearest Dominique, I am sending you lots and lots of love and hug from Melbourne, Australia.
Your grieve and tears are going to be with you for a long time, but like you said, you learn to live with it and manage as best you can.
Your mum was a great force in your life, she almost was more like a friend than a mum..
The emptiness in your life right now is because of the very very strong relationship you had with your mum, it was there with you for a very long time ..
It’s not easy but like many of us who lost our dear mums, you will get to a place where you will manage the lost and start living your life..
It will get better as time passes…
We love you and will continue to pray for you..

I do it in my head now, and while it’s not the same, it helps. I know your loss and send my deepest condolences. Please do care for yourself. Audrey wouldn’t be pleased if you didn’t.

Although you are full of grief and it’s not easy to see this but because you loved her so much, that is why you are hurting so much. That love is a gift and will never leave you. I lost my mom 13 years ago to ALS. She was only 71. Her spirit remained the same but her body gave out on her. It was one of the hardest things in my life to lose my beloved mama. I am so sorry. I'm experiencing this too - I lost my mum in February - I still can't move anything in her room in my home. I hold her pillows everyday. I know I'm stuck in grief. Everything you say I so relate to. I lost my dad two months before. I'm in a void still. Crying every day. I wish I had family and support around me but I have none. I have no idea how I will live the rest of my life - I was the perennial daughter and eventually carer for them both. Your video is so lovely with respect to the sad sad loss of your amazing mum 🌸

I'm so sorry to hear this. I admit I've been away from your channel for a bit. She was so precious and I so loved to see you together. Your loving and fun relationship is something I didn't have with my mother so I always cherish when I get to see such love in action. I cried for you knowing the pain you are going through. Yes, many times you'll think, "oh I'll call mom and ask", and then realize she's not there. Of course believing in heaven we know it's a "see you later" mom. The signs will come at the weirdest times and so unexpectedly. Bless you, Dominique.

I watched your video and felt a connection. I lost my darling Mum in June. She was 88 and we brought her back from hospital to her aged care for end of life care. My twin sister and I moved into her room for her last 3 days and nights till she passed. I journal my thoughts and wrote a poem for her service order. We had her ashes placed in a pink hand made teddy bear...her wish. I knew it would be hard losing someone I loved so much. What I never thought would be so hard was losing someone who loved me so much. Your Mum was a super bright light as was mine. That will get us through this sad time. Hugs Myra from Australia.

I’m so sorry for your loss…I know how you’re feeling…. I lost my mum to leukaemia 10 months ago, but the pain is like I lost her yesterday. I wish I could turn back time and hug her, kiss her all those hugs and kisses that I didn’t give her. I wish I could the opportunity to tell her how much I loved her. Life goes on for people around me, I feel like time has stopped for me the moment she passed away …I’m drowning in this pain, I miss her so much every second of the day. She’s my first though in the morning when I wake up and the last when I go to bed. I didn’t just loose my mother, I lost my best friend too. People tell me that it’s going to get better… I don’t believe that… I’ll just have to learn to live with this pain…My heart is shattered, my life has never been the same again. 💔😢

My mom surprised me with my family with a birthday 🎂 to celebrate. The last thing I wanted to do! I had never lost anyone. Didn’t know how or what I was suppose to do or feel. I was use to calling her multiple times a day! Seeing her regularly. Needless to say it was hard. I wasn’t allowed to cry, my ex husband wouldn’t allow me too! So it just built up. I finally got divorced. Christmas and my birthday I didn’t care for anymore. I had 4 kid’s so I had to figure it out. Then I was able to process it all. Still difficult. I started to remember how she would find at least one positive thing about her day. So I started doing that. Would ask my kids what their day was like. My grandma found cooking and baking go be therapeutic! Guess what? Me too! So now fast forward, now on Christmas Day I release balloons 🎈 with a letter to her! I have found it helps. I talk to her on a daily basis. Sometimes I can smell her perfume. Sometimes I see someone in the grocery store that looks like her! I take that all in and I smile 😊 because I know it’s her way of telling me she’s still there. Grief is a process. It’s different for everyone! Just allow yourself to feel it. Know that it will pass. Taking the small things that I remember about my grandma and now I’ve passed them on to my kids and I have 14 grandkids and my first great granddaughter. I’m 60 years old. I’m so grateful for what my grandma taught me. How much she influenced me and how she’s still with me. I acknowledge her as much as I possibly can. I’m sorry for your loss. I hope that you’ll be good to yourself through this process. I’m sending you positive thoughts and positive energy! Take care of yourself you’re a beautiful soul! Chow!

I agree wholeheartedly with this comment as well. I lost my mother 2 years ago and got stuck in the acceptance phase until recently. I was functioning but wouldn’t allow myself to truly begin to heal and be happy. It’s not even something to get through. It’s something we have to learn to live with. Once I allowed myself to be truly happy and not feel guilty if I wasn’t thinking of her things got alot better for me. It’s ok to think of our lost loved ones with happiness instead of always sadness.

Sometimes remember your moms are always just a whisper away! Sometimes when you all feel lonely- do as I do( and I find it works!) I say a prayer to my mom in heaven and ask her to just hold me, and visualize and actually feel what it was like when I was a toddler and I remember her holding me before a nap to stop me from crying because I wanted to stay up with her! Sometimes I even put a little asmr video on- Maria from “ gentle Whispering “ tries to be the mother figure we all wish we still had or ever had when she films her ASMR videos. I find the ones where she’s saying inspirational sayings such as “ you’ll be alright “ or ones she’s a guardian angel, and many many more - I pretend it’s my mom talking me to sleep! And again- it always works! These little things help me so much and obviously SO many other people….this is one of the best things about the internet. That we can find others who enjoy similar content and share with not only the person who makes the videos, but also the followers…. As we all must have much in common to like the same videos! One of the best things about the internet is finding like minded people on you tube channels that teach me to become a better new me! God bless you Dominique! Your mother is now always just a whisper away! She’s your guardian angel! As well as everyone else who’s lost a mother! And if you haven’t yet- appreciate every moment you have!

Dominique, my heart just breaks for you. I lost my mom, who was my best friend in the world, a year before I became pregnant with my daughter. I lost my dad 6 years later. On top of that, I was in an emotionally abusive, unhappy, very lonely marriage. I'm just recently divorced as well (just turned 52) and now feel a different kind of loneliness. You've brought so much light sharing yourself with all the ups and downs. I feel like you're a friend, even though I don't know you. I don't know where I would be without my Christian faith. I know that God is grieving right along with you; He is near to those who are broken hearted and crushed in spirit as the Bible tells us. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I know you're clinging to your faith as well -- but grief is grief and you've had one hard hit after another.
