    I treated myself to the RX500h Takumi back in March 24, 5 months old with 3200 miles. It was, and still is, as new and cost £15k less than £82.5k list. I had the previous generation RX in the same model line previously and as good as that was, my current RX has proven to be by far the best car I’ve lived with by a significant margin. It is, to sum up, epic.

    I bought the NX450h+ and I think it is prettier, and, based on your review, seems almost identical in terms of features. I bought a 2 yr old one and absolutely love it for all the reasons you gave. After 6 months driving, I can say it is even better than you say. I plug in every day to an ordinary 3 pin plug, pay less than £1 for 45+ miles silent EV miles. I say all this as a BMW lover for 25 yrs, best car ever.
    I might add my partner has a 13 yr old one with 185k on it and it drives beautifully still

    If I was buying a luxury car with my hard earned I would only buy Lexus. No they aren't perfect but as a luxury brand they are superior to other so called "luxury brands"due to not notch reliability, build quality and service support. People will probably comment saying I'm wrong. But they won't change my opinion.

    Wow, That was indeed some review fella!! I bought the last generation 3.5 v6 450h Premium Sport brand new back in Sept 2022, and can honestly say "IT SIMPLY IS THE BEST CAR I'VE EVER OWNED"!! So much so that I'm thinking of changing to the brand new 450h+ in the new year, just wasn't sure if the plug in version was what I really wanted, after owning the self charging hybrid RX!! Well you've certainly made my mind up now, and cleared any doubts I was having regarding a plug in hybrid!! I also couldn't agree more with you regarding the comfort and luxury Lexus surround you in, and the comfort + ease of driving the RX!! My Lexus Dealership have also been "SUPERB" anytime my cars been in for its yearly service!! Absolutely Perfection 👌!! Wishing you/your family a wonderful Christmas & Happy 2025!! Keep up the FANTASTIC work you do!! X😮 ho ho ho!!

    Brilliant review, have liked and subscribed immediately mainly because I'm a huge fan of Lexus hybrids (now on my second CT200h) and I get a bit fed up of other reviewers whinging about the noisy, lacklustre CVT system. I've never had an issue, even with the lowly CT and I'm so happy you feel similarly.

    Lexus yeah, i also had one an IS. Now a BMW 4 series. Honestly i will go back. Bought the the BMW for it's engine, 6 cyl and qo on. Nice to have, but in the daily traffic (Belgium) you can't use anymore the potential "of less than 5 sec to 60miles per hour " cars. So i am really missing the silence and comfort of rhe lexus, the mark levinson soind system and the very good seats. Yes the design needs to grow on you which it does when aging a bit. I see as it a way to distinguish your selves amongst the many the grey. Think different be different, and last but not least they are really well build cars that are technically more reliable than many Germans and that is for sure a bonus when you buy (pay)the cars your selves

    • @Ogee4life
      @Ogee4life 13 дней назад

      I believe it's Pioneer not Panasonic for the standard audio and they are solid. The Mark Levinson is better with bass and slightly more surround but the normal audio system of the Lexus is better than the normal audio of other brands that's for sure. I own an ES 350 luxury package which doesn't have the Mark Levinson that is only found on the Ultra luxury package for my model year and I can tell you it is still superb. Lexus does know how to make comfortable relaxing cars. I have been in the e class and several other rivals and the ride quality is just not it compared to the Lexus same with the sound insulation. The other brands rely now on name more than anything else.

      @samsonokoro5036 shot for the heads up! I heard when Lexus developes a new car from the group up they have the Mark Lavison sound engineer to help with sound insulation and speaker location unlike having him at the end. So they build the interior together. Hence everyone I've heard talk about Lexus with Mark sound system only cries tears of joy

It’s chalk and cheese between the two and certainly the best Lexus we’ve owned. The ML sound system is superb and the rear wheel steering makes a huge difference with the handling. I’m not really a fan of sunroofs but it came standard so have adapted.

    The audio is hard to listen to Tim. In the early walk around the car in the open air I had to whack the volume up higher than normal, and even then it's not easy to follow. It's better when you are talking to the camera at a distance, when you are talking just a fraction slower and projecting a bit more deliberately. It also got better when the camera was with you in the car when you were driving. It was a review of two halves - I almost clicked away in the first part because it was hard to follow, but was glad I stayed for the driving section.

      The hybrids from Toyota and Lexus don’t use a traditional CVT. Toyota/Lexus call it eCVT because it kinda behaves like one. It’s really a power split device with the engine and 2 motor/generator units connected through a planetary gear set.

    • @boxoffisa
      @boxoffisa 28 дней назад

      @ actually that eCVT sometimes is paired with paddle shifters and boy I drive one called Wish only sold in Japan, it’s a wagon but that car was damn good. I wonder why Toyota doesn’t sell some cars in the west. It was smooth and fast.

    Astonishingly good cars, Lexus. Luxury in metal format. Some people don’t get them but they glide and are built to last. They aren’t sports cars so get over it. Don’t knock the CVT - it works just fine. Particularly love the analogue buttons - absolutely sick of the change to touchscreen (soulless) buttons. Perfect dog transporter. The V6 Mk4 is a better bet but I get why some folks want this model. Beautiful engine in the V6. 6 cylinder? Nope. Enjoy this or the V6. Soak up the miles in luxury.

Theres an amazing documentary of all the new cars sitting in storage as theres no where to go. I think the car market is in a bad place. Either its what it is now,overly expensive being built as cheap as possible or a huge recession/depression comes knocking off the market anyway

    How the heck can you do a car review and not be aware of the full facts. I’ll help you out, the battery is NOT in the boot, it’s under the rear seat. Also it’s an E-cvt gearbox. The everyday fuel consumption can be as high as 50mg, so your press car has been shown little vehicle sympathy!

      Yes, technically you can argue it's a misnomer. But for the average consumer, it's actually a good description, because it tells you what you need to know, practically speaking. Do you need to plug it in, or does it manage the charging of the battery on its own.

    quite surprising there are only pros no cons in here don't get me wrong I think its gd value and Lexus are unbreakable vs German makes
    my FIL owns an RX 500 F sport I drive it time to time
    Wheelbase wise it sits BTW merc GLC bmw x3 and GLE bmw x5. The former has been cutting corners last few Gen w cheap materials but I think x5 n GLE beats the RX
    - sound insulation much thicker doors
    - Rx500 has a 2L engine albeit pair w turbo/motor but for the px competitors has 6 cylinders
    - suspension really nt as refined as Germans mid size x5 GLE

      There are too many uninformed snowflakes.
      First of all, the ECVT is NOT a CVT (owing their bad reputation to the old Jatco CVT used by Nissan).
      Then it's good that so many are in love with the German clunkers so that those having Lexus (#1 in reliability and #3 in low TCO=Total Cost of Ownership - opposite to the German) feel better.
