Nice to see someone who appreciates true luxury and superior build quality. Proof indeed that not everything needs to be “sporty”. Sadly, my Japanese is somewhat lacking.
Lexus yeah, i also had one an IS. Now a BMW 4 series. Honestly i will go back. Bought the the BMW for it's engine, 6 cyl and qo on. Nice to have, but in the daily traffic (Belgium) you can't use anymore the potential "of less than 5 sec to 60miles per hour " cars. So i am really missing the silence and comfort of rhe lexus, the mark levinson soind system and the very good seats. Yes the design needs to grow on you which it does when aging a bit. I see as it a way to distinguish your selves amongst the many the grey. Think different be different, and last but not least they are really well build cars that are technically more reliable than many Germans and that is for sure a bonus when you buy (pay)the cars your selves
It's a good looking car and it'll hold its value better than the Germans. The new infotainment helps a lot, you're the first person I've heard say that the old mouse touchpad thing was good.
I heard Lexus uses Panasonic speakers for there standard sound system but everyone says it's actually really good. Even in the new GX550. So I'm shocked that it's even solid in the RX
Thanks for the video. Have you tried a new NX? I am surpirsed the RX has the shortcut to turn off the speed warning, but the NX doesn't... is it the 'road sign assist' you turn off to stop the noise via the frequently used screen?
Exactly, had a is250, now in rx400h, next one will probably be an is300h…I had many German cars before and they can’t compete in terms of comfort and reliability
Looks better than before but some of the lines/junctions are awkward. At this level we shouldn't have to pay extra for metallic paint even at £250! For the more discerning gentleman/lady possibly?
I know it’s a misnomer but for the 95% of car buyers out there it’s sadly terminology they understand. I usually do air quotes when I say it but I forgot this time…
Yes, technically you can argue it's a misnomer. But for the average consumer, it's actually a good description, because it tells you what you need to know, practically speaking. Do you need to plug it in, or does it manage the charging of the battery on its own.
The difference is it'll still be a reliable well built car twenty plus years on. Would rather spend £70k on this than Euro rivals which are potentially a financial liability when the warranty expires and the years roll by.

Great review as always. Had the previous gen as a hire car a few years back, super comfy but totally unengaging. Sure it had a CVT?
I enjoyed watching the video review

No I was saying the old touchpad was awful! Must’ve mumbled my words. I used to like Lexuses but the infotainment put me off ever recommending them!
Still digging my old rx400h…
I love this car, a year old, but concerned about the lack of boot space if going camping etc... I have a model Y and spoilt for various space.
😀 Are those front wheels humungous or are the brake rotors tiny?
A bit of column A, a bit of column B…

Alan was right. The Japanese Mercedes, mainly because of price apparently.
Your a natural at this big fella. Have you taken your twin brother mr dad cars out in it yet ?
Haha thanks. I can’t afford him (he’s great isn’t he?)
What’s the mileage with the hybrid?
I got about 30 miles
Looks fantastic now they’ve abandoned the Predator grill 👀
Once ppl go Lexux, they never go back.
My Dad swore his was the best car ‘In the world’

Why do they insist on keeping that primitive digital dash when even new Toyotas have better, more customizable screens?
Please Tim - there's no such thing as a self charging hybrid. It's a misnomer.
Toyota's marketing jargon. Sounds magical!

Ugliest!
Lexus interiors always look plastic, cheap and boring AF.
I mean did you see the bit where I said it’s leather and nice and feels expensive? Or just spouting nonsense based on other models 😂
I think you meant *Mercedes
