Thank you for the idea! I have been trying to figure out some details on some projects I have in mind and you just gave me some solutions! Thank you thank you!!
"Oy......This is not fun". Too funny! Such a good job. Looks great with the lights. That said, I think I'll go the easy route with Stikwood. I think I'm more the peel and stick kind of guy. LOL!!!!
It looks like a lot of work. The need for good lighting while in bed is so great, makes you wonder why they don't make more headboards that have lights already built in..
It wasn't too bad, tbh. Pulling apart the pallets and prepping the boards was probably the most work. Building the headboard itself would have been straightforward if we had used good lumber. Good point on the built in lighting though. It is a bit odd that you don't see that often. Thanks for watching!
We're debating whether we should go with a darker stain so we didn't seal it yet. What do you think? Should we go with the colour as is or stain it darker?
This might be a silly question, but, is it possible to put the charging outlets and lights on one plug so it's not hardwired in and can be moved around? Or will all that draw too much power? Headboard looks great btw
+uppy8862 thanks! We're really happy with the way the headboard turned out. I'm not sure if I understand your question, though. Do you mean just running extension cords for the lights? That would be fine if you don't mind the cords being exposed. It wouldn't draw any more power than what we've done here as we pulled the power for the lights and outlets from one plug anyway. Thanks for watching!
We'd love to see the pic! You can always tag us on Instagram (@realhandyverse) or find us on Facebook. We're glad it worked out for you. We love ours as well. Thanks for watching!
You should have put Recessed lights above on the ceiling facing down.... that way you won't hit your head on those lights sticking out right by your heads.....lol...
We wanted the lights out but also low enough not to bother the other person. We haven't had any issue hitting our heads; they are still plenty far out of the way.
Hay how did you wire your headboard lights because I did the same thing with a dimmer switch and my light balls sometimes Flickr or dims down at random times
tried to go on website for blueprints for this amazing headboard you guys made but it says the website is down.. any chance theres another place I can find them?
Sorry, we've been lax at getting our website back up and running plus I can't recall if we actually finished these plans. Send us an email at handyverse@gmail.com and we'll do our best to help you out.
How did you do the wiring? I am doing this exact same thing coming off an outlet, making a switch to a light fixture and also doing another outlet. But I only want the light switch to work for the light. Not for the other outlets but they are all connected so I feel like the switch would trigger the outlets too? Maybe I'm just over thinking of maybe it won't trigger the outlets but I feel like if it's connected to it it would. Please help me out anyone!
Given the nature of your question, our recommendation would be to have an electrician wire it for you. Electrical wiring is not something you want to do incorrectly as it can have disastrous results. To answer your question though, if you run power to your outlets first and you wire everything correctly, your switch will not turn off the outlets when it's used. The switch will only operate devices wired in series after that point. Good luck with your project but please be safe and bring in professional help if you need it.
Really like your channel, watched a bunch of your older videos so far, just subbed. BUT....... man your killing me working with bare feet lol im surprised your father let you get away with that. my dad would have stepped on my foot purposely and gave me that look that says ''put some F'ing boots on''.
Thanks, we're glad you enjoy it. Dad is more of a "learn your lessons the hard way" type. I did have shoes on while making all the cuts in the shop but, yes, I probably should have had them on here, too... Thanks for watching!
While we're confident in our own ability to do electrical work, we're not so confident to teach others in an area that can be a significant safety concern. Hence the lack of detail in that regard. Our advice regarding electrical work is always that if you're not comfortable and confident, please have a professional in to do that portion. Thanks for the feedback though, we understand how that may be frustrating for some viewers.
You two are so cute! Love the headboard :)
Got some good ideas for wiring the headboard I'm building. Thanks guys. good job.
+Mike M thanks! We're happy with the setup. Good luck with your project!
Looks awesome! Will definitely have to try building this
Thanks! We still love it. Please share with us if you do!
Great build.

Haha. It was a fair bit of work. Stickwood can look great too!

This build is just what I was looking for in the room we are renovating. I think I want some natural cedar instead of pallets, but it looks great!
Thanks! Good luck with your project!

depends- what does the rest of the bedroom furniture look like? I do like the natural look you have now though for my vote.
+Mike M heh, we don't really have any other furniture in the room except an old steamer trunk!
This video is over a year old. Nice job very nice , about the stain in my opinion the way it is , is just perfect ..
Thanks! We did, in fact, end up leaving it just the way we finished it in the video so we completely agree with you! :) Thanks for watching
Awesome guy's i love it good job :)
+TJ'S WOODWORKING SHOP thanks and thanks for watching.

what type of paint did u use?
I’m looking for the plans to build this project but I can’t find them. Can you please point me in the right direction?
I like cats 😊🐈
we do too :)
How did you attach the 2x4 frame to the wall?
Did you add a dimmer switch to each side and an outlet on the left?
A dimmer and an outlet on each side. Thanks for watching!
Yooo I just built one of these and it’s amazing dude, thanks so much for the idea! I want to post a pic but RUclips won’t let me lol

Nice video.
Please anyone knows the music trailer title.

Are you using LEDs or incandescent bulbs? Some dimmers have a switch on them that you need to set according to what type of bulbs you're using.

Excellent work! Will you be doing more videos like this soon?
Thanks! We do have leftover wood so hopefully we'll be doing something soon.

This looks amazing! Is there somewhere I can access the plans to make my own?
No, sorry, we didn't make plans for this. It's basically just a 2 x 4 framework on the wall that we covered up with pallet boards.

I sub your awesome channel my friend and I'm watching your videos to ok :)
what size were the shelves?
12 inch by 8 inch by 2 inches thick. Didnt do anything fancy to attach them. Just screwed them into the headboard structure.

I really like it. Also check out Woodglut and plans.
'Build Your Own..." no information on wiring given. Not particularly helpful. Like "Bake Your Own Cake" no recipe given.
your wife is smokin
Yes, I've noticed that. :p Thanks for watching.
It wasn't "instructional" at all. It zoomed through the electrical, so not helpful

Too much work
Wasn't too bad actually
