Ever since I saw someone use a little flexible rubber Bondo spreader for the smoothing and finishing, ill never look at a metal tool the same way, it just doesnt even it out as much as the rubber. I highly recommend giving it a shot next time

thanks for this video. I did the liquid on a larger crack and it just sank into the hole the next day. New England rain washed some of it away before it could cure. I see you used black jack sand mixture for the larger cracks which makes way more sense than the way I did it.

Thanks for watching! Same thing happened to me when I sealed the one driveway a few years back. It was supposed to be nice and then a major storm came and messed it up. I just found a product called crack sticks and you place it in the crack and heat it with a torch and works well and drys fast. I will add a video of it when I get a chance but this could be a good option of the weather changes fast in your area and you want it to dry quick.

How long did that take to dry?

Thanks for watching. It really depends on a few things. If the weather is warm it drys faster and also it depends on the depth of the crack. My rule of thumb just to play it safe I will let it dry for 24 hours. If for some reason you do not wait long enough then when you apply the seal coat it could pull it out of the crack if it did not cure fully. I am sure you could do it in less time but this is my usual.

I have some cracks but there’s dirt at the bottom of them which is the ground under the driveway. What do I do for that? If you don’t want to pour it on dirt?

Thanks for watching. It depends how deep the crack is. Can you put asphalt patch in it to fill it up? Asphalt patch sticks a little better then you can fill in the top with the repair and it will hold. Just depends on if the crack is larger anough to do this. I have another video for crack repair in the playlist that you use a torch to melt and that bonds much better if you can not put in asphalt.

Thanks for watching. The torch is to melt the crack repair. You can use a heat gun I would imagine but would take a long longer to melt.
