Looks really good? Really? After 2nd coat, I still see nasty cracks, need 3rd coat and probably 4th to have it smooth but then that's really defeating the purpose. That driveway they are on, look at it, the white line, and behind the guy applying, and to the left and to the right, it's beyond help, it needs to be repaved when it looks like that, and why a pallet (36) for $2150, $60 a bucket, for contractor, but (3) 5 gal. buckets is $550, $183 a bucket!!! for homeowner!! A little price gouging!! Lol 🤣
@@thomasschuldaski9968 I dont think the person applying it did a good job, he over worked it, and pulled it out of the cracks, you can see him do it. Also, not sure where you are getting your pricing, its $79.50/5gal.
it was not going to rain when we decided to apply 12 pails to our parking lot..... rained and rained and rained some more...What can we do? Help.. Please HELP!!!
Hey there! Monitor the patched are, check for surface texture issues, cracking, peeling, flaking, or if it looks loose. Also, check if it is seeping water, or excessive wear after light traffic. Heavy or persistent rain could wash away the material or cause it not to set and cure properly, you may need to redo it.
This product is recommended for normal sized cracks (1/2" wide & 1/4" deep). If it's larger, you need to consider using hot rubber crack filler. In your case with dirt showing, a cut and patch might be necessary.
They may look the same but the formulation is different. We've tried and tested different products out in the market and Gator Patch is where we put our money when it comes to repairing extensive alligator cracking.

Great question! Depends on the square feet of the tennis court. Gator Patch is a great all-around asphalt patch that is ready to use right out of the pail. Get up to 20 square feet of coverage per gallon for alligatored areas, and up to 150 linear feet of 1/2" x 1/2" cracks.
No prime coat? And did yall mix the stuff up in the bucket before hand? Looks like it would separate in a bucket like paint would over time.. and how do you blend it in to not look like a big obvious patch job?
That’s correct. No prime coat needed for gator patch or sealcoat. It is thick like mud and doesn’t separate. In regards to the big obvious patch, always best to sealcoat the complete parking lot or driveway surface after to make it all uniform and black.

had drive ways sealed last year, but paver contractor used gator patch after sealing. Can i apply gator patch to areas he did not cover without resaling?
This really depends on the weather conditions outside. As an example, if in the hot summer, you could seal coat a second coat within a couple hours but if it’s cool in the high 50s and overcast, they could take a day or two before you do your second coat. The real key is to have the first coat completely dry before doing your second application. That’s why it’s good to spray your first code a little bit more thin as your primer code and then do your second application as your permanent final coat.
Good question! As long as the application process is correct and the product had time to cure properly, it should hold even after winter. You can check out the product page for more info about the product: www.asphaltkingdom.com/gator-patch.html

The color tone will be the same once you sealcoat it. The texture will be different however because of the lack of aggregate. Homeowners who don’t repair the cracks will have the eye sore of cracks and also the pavement will be on fast track to deterioration as water will destroy the base leading to unsafe potholes and depressions that are tripping hazards and lead to liability challenges. looks like a glorified seal coat. Just a little thicker but if you're squeegying it on the effect is the same as seal coat. probably more expensive too
Good morning! The solids in gator patch are way higher providing the ability to seal cracks and small holes that sealer simply wouldn’t. Gator Patch is more of a mud like material with the binding agents that you find in both sealer and asphalt itself. You wouldn’t be able to repair alligator cracks with Sealcoat. You’d want gator patch for sure.
I have not used Gator Patch, but I can tell you that I have alligator areas and even using the highest quality sealcoating did not cover them up. Sure it looked better and probably reduced water intrusion. But not a patch.
@chrisryan8863 depends on the repair but as a temporary patch solution it usually lasts a year or two but again depends on the severity of the deteriorated asphalt.
Alligator cracks like you show are NOT caused simply by water intrusion or asphalt aging. There are caused by a weak base under the pavement. Asphalt is flexible, unlike concrete, but it’ll only bend so far before cracking. The only way to fix that situation is to remove the asphalt, strengthen the granular base and repave.
@@AsphaltKingdom Your product seems to be prepared and applied like a sealant. It’s a very temporary repair at best. If the property owner does proper crack sealing as they happen then alligator cracking is much less likely (assuming a decent design and construction in the first place). Whether it’s a road, driveway or parking lot, a proper maintenance program needs to be in place to minimize cost and maximize performance.
Another learning curve is when the customer says yeah I this company told me 1500 and that was way much but....... The truth is after the measurements and × the sq price it really come out to 2500 and that crafty little customer knows the price lol not every dollar is worth is!!!!🎉
I think these products help if they are applied every year in the spring. It only serves to seal the cracks and look good. It has no structural integrity whatsoever. When there is the so called a lighter cracking, the base material has been compromised by water infiltrating the base material. Sometimes the sub grade is the problem and needs to be dug out and replaced to repair it properly. So many times, no maintenance is performed until its too late and all your doing at that point is Wasting time and money! Do maintenance on your asphalt every year!

The truth is after the measurements and × the sq price it really come out to 2500 and that crafty little customer knows the price lol not every dollar is worth is!!!!🎉
Always want to make sure measurements are accurate and price is right too!

Hi Adam, I wonder if you have to apply coat of adhesive before you apply alligator crack patch in order to be a good band? If I have half an inch deep crocodile cracks how long takes to dry so I can put the seal coat? Can I use airport seal on top of your gator patch? thank you for your video. It was very helpful.
Great product 👌
It really is! Thanks for the comment Terry.
Excelent product
Thank you, Cesar! 🔥
As you can see.......
Thank you for your comment.
Back to Drawing Board,Boys !!!
Crush it!
Short term bandaid
Prevention unsafe potholes and depressions leading to liability risks for the property owner.
That’s a bandaid
Yes, it’s a temporary repair not a permanent repair. Infrared or cut and patch is always best but way more costly.
Everything’s a bandaid.
If it extends the useful life if the driveway, it’s served its function.
Take a photo of this patch a year later and you will see that you cannot repair alligator cracks this way.
As long as the proper application process is followed, the Gator Patch should last approximately 3-4 years.
As you can see this will last maybe one season...as you can see..!!
Thank you for the feedback!
