Hi I just used Gator Patch to repair my driveway. I am pretty happy with the results except there are a few areas where I think I applied it too thick. Its been a week and they are still soft. My wife left tire marks in on section. Also it gets soft every day when it gets hot in the sun. The really thin areas seem fine. How long for the thicker sections to cure?

Gator-patch is junk. Customer beware, on the bucket it does say USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I applied it in early morning on a sunny day 86 degrees, dropped to the 60s that night. The next day was the same as the first, sunny mid 80s upper 60s at night. So the driveway sat curing for a little over 48 hours, Friday mid morning to Sunday mid morning. Satuday evening the driveway was very dry, very hard and very black.Mid morning Sunday, light rain. The entire driveway went back to brown and became soft. Yes, I had some deep cracks and the patch didn't wash out 'yet'. This may work great in Phoenix where it doesn't rain, but not the Midwest. They suggest sealing it after 48 hours so you need about 4-5 dry days, good luck.
Thanks for sharing your experience with Gator Patch, Robert. I’m really sorry to hear it didn’t work out as you hoped. Weather can definitely be tricky, especially in the Midwest. How long after gator patch before you can seal whole driveway? Do you use a oil base or latex sealer over gator patch?

Good question! For the thicker areas, we would suggest to give it a few more days to allow it to fully harden.
Thank you
Thanks you!!!
Would you use hot tar in bigger cracks before or after using this product on residential driveway ?
We usually recommend Gator Patch for alligator cracks around 1/2 inch. For bigger and deeper cracks, consider a cut-and-replace approach.
How long to ship to Ottawa, Ontario?

How would you charge to do work like this???
Great question! You can charge $15 sq ft for gator patching. You could drop the sq ft price down if you had a lot of sq ft to service.
@@AsphaltKingdom how long should you wait until you apply that second coat of gator patch? Thanks!
@@pablog4852 just until the first layer is hard. You can test the first coat as to whether it is ready by scuffing your shoe o the surface.
@@AsphaltKingdom awesome thank you
What kind of tape is that ?
You'll want to make sure the asphalt is clean prior to sticking the tape so there is proper bonding. You can use duck tape or roofing tape.

To much work. To expensive. There are better ways.
Thanks for the comment. What are the better ways you’d suggest?
Just have Jeanie blink a new driveway down.
