I have never seen a video reaction where you said "That's so cool" as many times as in this one. This movie is just cool in so many ways. I love this movie. I got so many goosebumps watching this movie.
I think this is my favorite reaction so far, it's so rare to find someone who hasn't seen the Matrix, and who also has a reaction like we all did the first time we saw it. Most just fake it with weird exaggerated expressions and such - but this was real, and that was alot of fun to see someone first discover how cool this movie really is.
This movie really brought Keanu back as a movie star. He's really good in the movie Speed as well. He seems to lay low for a while then come back with something big (John Wick)
Lay low for a while? he did 15 films till john wick - to name a few - Constantine - A Scanner Darkly - Street Kings - The Day the Earth Stood Still - 47 Ronin.
I remember seeing this film for the first time when I was 11 and remember being so confused until they explained what The Matrix is. The sequels are also amazing and I love the hell out of them. Definitely don't miss the opportunity to check them out :)
Magy. If the Oracle tells Neo he's the one then he does not fulfill his destiny to become the one. He has to discover it for himself. HE HAS TO BELIEVE.
Possibly. Also, the Oracle told him that he was possibly waiting for another life. He died when Agent Smith shot him several times (he flatlined), and came back to life when Trinity kissed him. So, it was another life.
Did she ever actually SAY “you’re not the One”? Oracle: “...But you already know what I’m going to say.” Neo: “I’m not the one.” She confirmed with, “Sorry kid. You got the gift... But it looks like you’re waiting for something.” I enjoy how slippery she is and how many assumptions the heroes make thinking too literally.
Magic Magy. It's a joy to watch you react to movies with such excitement, passion and intensity. Keep up the good work, you're becoming one of the best reactors out there.
People that weren’t there when this film came out really can’t comprehend how mind-blowing it was upon release. The special effects were groundbreaking for that time.

I remember seeing this movie in the cinema in Germany, I did not get every detail but the concept was so clear ! it was amazing I was so mindblown, I spend the last 48 hours unable to sleep and stop my brain from racing in every direction!! Great reaction !!
Winner of 4 Oscars including Best Visual Effects. It blew me away when I saw this film in theaters in 1999. It's still considered to be one of the greatest sci-fi movies ever made.
Yes no one who reacts to these ever watch The Animatrix, and they're crucial to getting the backstory of the machine war, as well as understanding exactly what's going on in certain parts of Matrix Reloaded.
I remember seeing this in the theater. That first moment when everything seems to stop while Trinity is in mid-air & the camera rotates 360™ was SO COOL.This movie was so ground breaking. By far this movie was one of the most amazing theater experiences I've ever had.
This was a great reaction! It's awesome that this movie can still wow new viewers, even with the effects that have been done in the years since. Couple things to note: In 1999, CGI was still relatively new. No one had seen this many effects shots in a single film, and it worked so well, I think this film has actually aged pretty well. Glad you enjoyed this one, the Matrix is an amazing classic. So happy I got to see this in theaters!
VFX were around before this movie, (Jurassic park and Jumanji) but the flawless integration of human and virtual objects had not been so well executed. Until this movie. Plus the integration of Martial art wire movie techniques had never been done in a major Hollywood feature film. Which allowed for the level of realism in the live action scenes. So it was still grind breaking.
I do agree that this many high quality VFX shots in a movie was unheard of. Most movie would use practical effects and animatronics until the very end and them go wild at the end with VFX shots.
The interesting thing is that still many shots that would now be 100% CG were still partially practical. Like the bullet time scenes, which used ingenious camera rigs to film the actual actors. And I think that in part is why this film stood the test of time so well. Better than the sequels if you'd ask me, even when those raised the bar on special effects even higher, they also had a few rather dubious scenes where characters are too obviously fake.
This film on a philosophical level has been the subject of debate in academies around the world for 20 years. What was achieved in this project is more than just an entertainment movie. Sadly and I do not want to disappoint you but the next two movies are not at the level of what I achieved this.
There are some movies, only a handful, where you're eager to see other people watch them for the first time, and this is near the top. Was super excited when I saw Magy and Matrix on my feed!
This is my fav movie. A masterpiece. In 1999 we NEVER saw something like that ! It was revolutionary ! I saw it on a multiplex during vaccation and not rush our. We were just 20 in the theater, perfect seance for perfect movie. I rewatch the movie at least twenty time (5 times in theater).
@@kylereese4822 He is also Elrond from Lord of the Rings and V from V for Vendetta. And he is in the newer sci-fi apocalyptic movie Mortal Engines, among many others.
There are credible scientists who have studied the subject and estimate that our odds of actually being inside a simulated world, right now, is just a little under 50%.... and that is only because we, ourselves, do not have the capability yet to create our own fully realistic virtual worlds. Once we figure our own way to do that, the chance that we, ourselves, are living in a simulation, will rise above 50%. It's a sobering subject.
Oracle : Sorry, kid. You got the gift, but it looks like you're waiting for something. Neo : What? Oracle : Your next life, maybe. Who knows? That's the way these things go. He's not the ONE until he starts his next life after getting shot.
O: but you already know what I'm going to say. N: I'm not the one O: Sorry kid "YOU GOT THE GIFT" = she just told him he is the one. Never understand why people think he's not the one after that scene. Many people misheard the dialogue and come to that conclusion so that's fine but for those that hear correctly and still don't know what "you got the gift" means 🤷♂️
Also, she told him that either Morpheus would die, or he would, depending on Neo’s own choice. And the path he chose led to Neo dying, which allowed him to become The One.
@@maddogminecrafter8828 that's a new way of looking at it I've never questioned before. Was Neo always the one or did he only become the one after the oracle's predictions come true. The oracle tells trinity that she would fall in love with the one, so until she does, he's not the one? But then what about morpheus. He was told he would find the one and he did at the start of the movie. So is Neo the one as soon as morpheus finds him? Others believe he's only the one once Neo himself starts to believe. I think he was always the one.
if you look closely, Morpheus' glasses don't have the things in the side you put next to your ears to support them. So his glasses are literally just floating without any support
The Oracle DOES actually say he's The One. Neo just misunderstands her. She tells him. "You got the gift. But it seems like you're waiting for something. Another life, perhaps." She's essentially telling him "You're The One, but you have to die and come back before you truly tap into your powers", which is exactly what happens.
Actually Neo really isnt the one. In youtube the channel ''film theorists'' made a video about it, and its all plausible in it - they come to the conclusion , that Smith is actually the one ^^
This movie was an incredible thing when it first came out, nobody had ever seen anything quite like it before. If you watch this movie again (or any of the sequels,) you will notice that the lighting is different between the two worlds. You really don't notice it, but you'll find that the matrix has a different color pallet than "the real world," and it's something that does register in your brain, but not something you really notice as users are moving back and forth between the worlds. You realize that something's different, but you're not sure what.
The Oracle says a couple of things that are often overlooked. Actually the most important part she says is: ".. I'm sorry kid. You seem to have the gift but it looks like you are waiting for something." That something turns out to be the moment where he decides to save Morpheus.
Just finished the video and I loved your reaction!! Thank you so much for being ACTUALLY invested in the movie(I've seen a few channels where people don't really engage with the movie) because your hype and excitement is CONTAGIOUS! I specially loved the scene where the whole crew spawns into the Matrix and you were like "They look so badass!" and I'm like THANK YOU, that's one of my favorite scenes of the whole movie cause of the crew's swag and many people don't even acknowledge it xD
the Oracle didn't say he wasn't the one she said he has the gift but he was waiting on something a next life perhaps. So he's able to kind of get stuff but it's not until he dies and enter his next life, he was able to fully embrace the one.
This was just the first one. The next one is Matrix Reloaded and then Matrix Revolutions. You have to watch them in order and they just keep getting better. Btw, you are just too freaking adorable. I love watching your reactions.
No, the 'next one' is the Animatrix. It's like you people don't know anything about these movies. A few of the Animatrix shorts have very crucial plot points that make things in the next movie much clearer. And some of them clear up a lot of the backstory to the matrix, like how it all started.
@@Tekkarath There were only two stories in that with any merit for me. The rest were fluff. If she wants to watch them on her own, fine. But I wouldn't watch a reaction to them.
Fun fact: The original concept for Switch was that she was a male in the real world and "switched" to female in the matrix due to you being your true self or at least how you see yourself, however, Warner Bros decided against this.
This movie was so much ahead of its time, if it came out today, 22 YEARS later, it would still be relevant and totally wreck the box office. From the VFX through the cinematography to the philosophy it is still the yardstick all future classics are measured to.
notice how the oracle says "you got potention, but something is missing, your NEXT REENCARNATION MAYBE!" so, Neo was not the one, he needed to REENCARNATE in order to become the one, and in order for that, he nedded to DIE! so, the only thing that makes neo become the one, is deciding to go back for morpheus and dying, if he havent come back, he would not have become the one, so you see, as he said himself, IT IS A CHOICE! you chooso to be the one, you're not destinated to it, anyone could be the one, if they chose to belive they could be, and if they were willing to sacrifice themselfs.

This was the first movie that I saw Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith), and he has grown to be one of my favorite actors! From Elrond, to V, to the Red Skull, he has never disappointed.
Imagine being young enough that The Matrix came out before you were born. Now imagine watching a movie for the first time that came out before you were born and that movie is The Matrix! I’ve seen a lot of movies in the theater, only two were so good that everybody gave a standing ovation when the credits rolled. The Matrix was the first, The Dark Knight was the second.
And the most funny trick is that people really think this is just a movie and not subverted documentary. Or multilayered documentary either from social construct point of view or from the actual point of view of what reality really is.
The power to unlocking Neo in the Matrix, is if you believe you can then you will manifest that ability. Outside of the Matrix you can't do that. Outside the Matrix you can't just manifest ability through will power. There are limitations just like in real life. However in the Matrix Neo is unlimited, however there are things he doesn't know and he can only acquire that knowledge until he is challenged by stronger opponents. Sort of like a chess master. Or a top gamer, or a Michael Phelps.
"Welcome to Rivendell, Mr Andersson." Imagine seeing this in the cinema. It was a total game changer. There was nothing like it before. I was 17 and it blew my mind (just like it did yours) .. god i ´m old.
True, but Trinity didn't try to fight the Agents, she ran from them. One thing that i love about the chase scene is even after Trinity jumps through that window and crashes down the stairs, she looks terrified at the idea the Agent might follow. That really sells the idea of how powerful they are on the first watch, that someone who seems to be superhuman is still that scared of them.
Imagine being able to watch the Matrix for the first time again.
I remember being so confused as to what was happening with Neo's face... Trinity actually scared me in the opening scene, I thought she was the bad guy killing all the cops and bouncing off the walls and shit.

The only movie I went back to the theater, 3 times, to watch it again in my 61 years of living. Just the opening scene with Trinity was worth it.
Yeah, I was I 32 when this came out & we had never seen anything like this before. It really was revolutionary at the time.
I don't know. I saw "The Rocketeer" three times in the theater, but had a huge crush on Jennifer Connelly.
I went back the very next day. Mind blown.
I love Magy's insight she just "gets" nearly every movie scene and always has smart commentary about what's happening.
"This movie was released before I was born" OMG I feel old now. 🤣

Ditto. I was 14 when it was released. Also, I have a majorrr crush on Magy. Does that make me a creepy old dude? 😳 😞 🚓
I can hear the sirens now.
I'm 23 and I feel old
I saw this movie when I was young enough to aspire to get a girl like Magy in school or something. Now I’d just be her creepy uncle.
The shot when Trinity said dodge this, so badass
Morfeo: welcome to the real world
Magy: no thank you
XD
She wants to keep enjoying her steak 😉
end of the story :D
Took the blue pill.
Morfeo, LMFAO
This movie really brought Keanu back as a movie star. He's really good in the movie Speed as well. He seems to lay low for a while then come back with something big (John Wick)
Lay low for a while? he did 15 films till john wick - to name a few - Constantine - A Scanner Darkly - Street Kings - The Day the Earth Stood Still - 47 Ronin.
Saw Matrix for the first time on VHS when I was 9, then FOTR in the cinema when I was 10. Definitely chose the right time to be born.
Oracle: “...But you already know what I’m going to say.”
Neo: “I’m not the one.”
She confirmed with, “Sorry kid. You got the gift... But it looks like you’re waiting for something.”
I enjoy how slippery she is and how many assumptions the heroes make thinking too literally.

Neo dreams about being John Wick when he's in The Matrix.
Winner of 4 Oscars including Best Visual Effects. It blew me away when I saw this film in theaters in 1999. It's still considered to be one of the greatest sci-fi movies ever made.
The question is: Did Magy really watched the film or were it just electrical signal interpreted by her brain, cause she is living in the matrix?
oh god don’t do it to me😂😂
That was my thought also, when the movie came out. We could never know, I don't really believe it just a though point.

I highly recommend this too. Pretty cool origin story if you are interested in finding out more.
Yes no one who reacts to these ever watch The Animatrix, and they're crucial to getting the backstory of the machine war, as well as understanding exactly what's going on in certain parts of Matrix Reloaded.
The Animatrix is insanely good too.
Words can't describe the impact this film has had on action movie making. I don't think there would be an MCU without the Matrix.
1:16 “okay that’s not possible, right?”
Ooooh Magy, just you wait!
I remember watching it in the cinema in 1999.
Some people actually committed suicide to escape "the Matrix" after that.
oh they took it on other level ,but that only shows how good the movie is to make you feel like it is real

Yes I wouldn't be surprised if we are living in a super advanced alien simulation.
Oracle : Sorry, kid. You got the gift, but it looks like you're waiting for something.
Neo : What?
Oracle : Your next life, maybe. Who knows? That's the way these things go.
He's not the ONE until he starts his next life after getting shot.
Damn. I never picked up on that!
O: but you already know what I'm going to say.
N: I'm not the one
O: Sorry kid "YOU GOT THE GIFT" = she just told him he is the one.
@@NimpanZ i thinkpart of it was he had to wait for trin to fall in love with him and kiss him
@@maddogminecrafter8828 that's a new way of looking at it I've never questioned before.

28:44 - "Why did the Oracle say he's not the one?"
He wasn't sure. He wouldn't be 'the one' until he believed it himself.
@@glennwelsh9784 He had to realize he could respawn in order to activate god mode.
You seem to have the gift but it looks like you are waiting for something."
That something turns out to be the moment where he decides to save Morpheus.
"That's so cool." Yep. When it came out, this movie pretty much _defined_ cool.
Fun fact: The original concept for Switch was that she was a male in the real world and "switched" to female in the matrix due to you being your true self or at least how you see yourself, however, Warner Bros decided against this.
"..this movie release before I was born"
Well wow.. now I know how young you are Mag 😂
Magy's reaction was intense in this one
This movie was so much ahead of its time, if it came out today, 22 YEARS later, it would still be relevant and totally wreck the box office. From the VFX through the cinematography to the philosophy it is still the yardstick all future classics are measured to.
notice how the oracle says "you got potention, but something is missing, your NEXT REENCARNATION MAYBE!"
so, Neo was not the one, he needed to REENCARNATE in order to become the one, and in order for that, he nedded to DIE!
so, the only thing that makes neo become the one, is deciding to go back for morpheus and dying, if he havent come back, he would not have become the one, so you see, as he said himself, IT IS A CHOICE! you chooso to be the one, you're not destinated to it, anyone could be the one, if they chose to belive they could be, and if they were willing to sacrifice themselfs.
He needed to respawn to activate god mode.

True, but Trinity didn't try to fight the Agents, she ran from them.
One thing that i love about the chase scene is even after Trinity jumps through that window and crashes down the stairs, she looks terrified at the idea the Agent might follow.
