Production : "George, how many explosions do you want in your movie ?"
    George Miller : "Yes."
I suggest you to watch the original Mad Max Trilogy, directed also by George Miller and where Mel Gibson is playing Max. But I also like Tom Hardy's performance, is such a great actor too !
Oh and a prequel of Fury Road, about the youth of Furiosa and with Anya Taylor-Joy in the casting, is actualy in pre-production !

Considering how movies that are made these days are made to look, I seriously doubt that movie will be near as brutal as this one (or originals) and not to mention filled with politics. I am really skeptical about all movies released these days

At the end of the movie when he finally reveals his name:
"Max" He almost whispers, like is a moment of intimacy with Furiosa
"My name is Max" He says loudly to everyone in the rig to let them know
"That´s my name" Is almost like he is talking to himself, remembering he is still human

I've read a suggestion that this is not actually Max but the Feral Boy from The Road Warrior taking Max and becoming his archetype.
Feral Boy may be so immerse in his madness, the madness he has lived, and the madness he alludes to in the beginning, that the only thing that makes sense to him anymore is to enact the man he met: Max who represents goodness and ending up becoming his image.

This movie may seem like having lots of CGI but no. It has some CGI (like the sand storm that was added on top of real footage), but all cars were real. All explosions were real. All stunts were real. They even hired circus people. They had to go to film in a desert where there was no sound, not even a bird singing. It was like living on Mars for the crew and the actors. It is one of the most extreme film making in recent years. Old fashion made cinema.

Not only that, but when they finished making the Speakermobile (w/ the guitar guy on top), George asked them if the speakers worked. When they told him no, he made them go back and hook them all up, because everything had to work.
It must've been a wonderful racket on set, with drummers and a 9 billion watt speaker assembly blasting guitar riffs while going 60mp/h through the desert. :D

@@one-eye1721 Yes, just to increase dramatic effect, but the tough part is purely practical. Stunts, explosions, vehicles. The uniqueness of these vehicles, if they had survived, would make them very expensive. If they had used CGI for the vehicles, what would be left is just a bunch of files. The danger was real without CGI. And the isolation of actors was real too.

Another thing I just cant get how awesome it is: Immorten Joe's "Gigahorse" has 2 cadillac engines. The great director Steven Soderbergh, when asked about George Miller’s work on this film said “I don’t understand two things. I don’t understand how they’re still not shooting that film and I don’t understand how hundreds of people aren’t dead.” sums this movie up pretty succinctly.
The CGI was mainly only used to fill out the frame in the wide shots with extra vehicles, but the central focus of those shots were all practical effects.

Mad Max (1979) - must be with the original Australian dialogue, never with the US dubbed voices
Mad Max 2 (1982) known in the US as The Road Warrior
Mad Max - Beyond Thunderdome (1985)
The first deals with the breakdown of society and the rest deal with the aftermath

They don't make movies like this one anymore for decade.

I agree with you... The reason those types of movies are not and do no seem like this is simply because this movie was made with a lot of heart by the mastermind behind the Mad Max Universe: George Miller and because he requested for all the stunts, explosions, crashes and action sequences to be real, they're practical effects, not CGI, they just feel real and natural...

Great to watch another amazing reaction by you Magy and you really have an excellent, great taste in movies!!!
I just wanted to mention a few things so you get a grasp of how hard it would be for all these people to survive, how tough they must be, how horrific this dystopian reality is and in order for you to watch the Mad Max Universe in a different light:
In the Mad Max Universe, global warming and nuclear war have ended all sources of clean fresh water and even salty water, it seems like water has only been kept in small localized pockets and areas in the Mad Max post-apocalyptic timeline. Industries have shut down and civilization is falling apart, disease and pestilence is the fate of the average person, just like in middle ages and on top of that radiation has made people suffer from mutations and alterations, some of them giving them abilities and strenghts that pose an advantage.
First of all, presumably, the heavy greenhouse gas emmisions - chemical emmisions and chemical components released to the athmosphere such as CFCs, HFCs, CCI4s, Halon and DDTs (because the fall of society is located in this universe somewhere between the 1970s and 1990s when a lot of these chemicals hadn't been banned) have worn down the ozone layer and set an alarming increase rate in global warming, besides, it seems like nuclear war and nuclear weapon testing have also played an important role in the evaporation of massive bodies of water. That also explains why it only gets more and more arid over time.
If you pay attention, during the conversation between Max and Furiosa when they're deciding which way to go, Max mentions that he drove for 160 days in that direction before driving back and couldn't find anything but salt, obviously that's a reference to the fact that the oceans have dried up, and he was refering to the Pacific Ocean, the largest surface on the earth covered by water and the largest water mass, it's obvious he couldn't find anything since he was driving through the area which once was the oceanic floor.
Since there is no industry, resources are scarce: ammunition, fuel and motorized parts / mechanical replacements, all of them essential part of ritual and everyday life are very valuable and very difficult to get, despite them being so important, that's why the people who control them create such an imbalance of power and control so many people, same with basic resources as water, fertile soil or nutrients in general.
Radiation and exposure to extreme conditions such as continuous dry heat, extreme solar radiation, extreme cold, sun deprivation, sleep deprivation, water deprivation, extended periods of time without food, have forced changes and mutations in many people's organisms, the primal example being Max, who's endurance and adaptability are beyond the capabilities of a normal human and it seems like he has even stopped aging like any common person, since these stories take up decades, (or maybe they're just not exact accurate recounts of the history), the conclusions many have drawn are along the lines that he has mutated or he's more than a human at this point. He can also stand torture and being drained from his blood for extended periods of time, seems to have quick reflection response and reactions even under highly stressful situations or wounded and can heal very easily and rapidly.
P.S. And sorry for not watching this earlier, I don't know why this hadn't showed up in my recommendations or why hadn't I seen it in your channel before, (I had watched two days ago real quick and gave it another watch a while back tonight), but well, here I am, late but safe, great reaction as always, thank you for the great fresh impressions and reactions and your genuine thoughts and feelings about it, especially this one is outsatanding meaning this reaction of yours, and as always it's wonderful...
