As a doctor, simply lighting the with a lighter is no where, not even close to what you need to decontaminate the tools. Typically a hot steam oven or a dry one in case of saloons is needed to sanitize the tools. Not saying that his work is unsafe but definitely don't think it has 0 risks
I was looking for his comment. I’m a surgical tech. I’m familiar with how long surgical stainless steel instruments need to be exposed with pressurized steam and the pre cleaning of the instruments with enzymatic soap and hot water
As a Nigerian, it's sort of refreshing to see foreigners appreciate my country. In some other places here, you'd get the same service for even less. You heard that right, about $0.05. Keep up the good work.
I had mine yestarday and this is not only in Lagos but all over nigeria for decades. We call them MAI YANKAN QUMBA But with manicure I prefer them to just cut off the nails no scraping
Dont let them cut them too short. If you cut it too short, you have a big chance of an ingrown toenail. And yes, I’m speaking from experience unfortunately 😢
I’m a nail tech and honestly the fact that he could do this while sitting on the literal cement floor is impressive! You need a strong hand eye coordination to be this detailed without proper lighting or at least a stool to prop clients feet on. The only thing that is iffy is the scraping of the top of the nails. It is ok to buff the nails but only to take the shine away to prep for nail polish application or if a nail is too thick from damage or disease. If you scrape a healthy nail excessively it can cause damage and breaking
@@erin9868 yes it could cause ingrowns if the corners aren’t properly rounded. Some people don’t push the skin down on the sides before cutting the nails round so they don’t notice if there is any nail left behind or not. Like they will only cut and shape as much as they see and there will be a sharp triangle shaped corner hidden under the skin fold that will pierce the skin fold and grow into it if that makes sense. That’s what causes the ingrown nail for the most part. Also if you cut way deep into both of the sides like past the tip of the nail that can also cause ingrowns if not done correctly. The sides of the nail can become callused with excess skin where the nail was cut down due to the missing protection and the thick skin is what hurts sometimes not necessarily the nail. A lot of people just genetically have ingrown nails too and it wont go away unless they have surgery that will permanently cut/remove the sides down all the way to the root. Doesn’t matter what they do to help it
You went to a horrible cosmetology school then because cutting them that short can and will cause ingrown toenails. Ingrown toenails can become deadly.
I got mine done yesterday. Gave him 200nra, waiting for my change and this guy just pocket it and said thanks. I started wondering, when did the price increase from 100 to 200 kuma? Lol
I want to provide him gloves for HIS safety ❤ I seriously hope you gave more than 12cent. Bless this baby's journey and I pray his angel finds him soon and changes his life.
💅🏾❤ Looks good. Just one tip, it’s best to leave some of the free edge (white part at the tip of the nail) because it reduces discomfort, irritation, and risk of nail infections.
Wish they would come to America and open nail shops. I would be overjoyed to pay the same mani/pedi costs as I do now. $50 mani and $75 for pedi is a good fee here and this looks great!
In Nigeria they always cut your nails short i remember my parents cutting my nail and they cut them so short it felt like they were digging into my foot and it got really red after 😅
Hopefully he gave the guy at least $50 American dollars! His work is far superior to any manicure received in the states, where they charge far more$. Best of luck to the hard-working man in Nigeria!!
If a nail breaks/peels super short like that, it gets so uncomfortable I just straight up put a bandaid or KT tape so it doesn't get bothered by literally anything it may brush against
Yet everyone seems to have them that short now and whenever I see them these awful feelings come to me. I don't know how people live a functional day to day life. I also can feel my pulse inside when they are that short and get really weird feelings inside as well. Worst thing is, I get bad feelings sometimes even if I don't cut them that short.
I hope he got a $20 tip!!! Just saying, coming from a woman whose had mani and pedi all my life, his work is so clean and I'm sure you already know Manis today start at $25 and probably $30 for pedi..... we never leave the shop without spending atleady $80 if we're getting both done. He worked so hard and did such a great job, that a $20tip would put a huge sile on his face and feed his family for a month

I was on route to airport and forgot to get a desk flag and my husband waved someone and got one without any issues
I always cut my nails very short and recently have been giving myself a little bit of white bc I’ve realize that cutting them too short might actually cause an ingrown nail to occur.

they'll be sweet to you just to use you. They'll say that they love you while scamming you. They won't even be sorry for it. Oh and they'll never tell you their real name. They'll use a fake name and then they run after they steal from you. Oh yeah they're reallyyyy smooth talkers. I won't be surprised if you fall in love with them while they never truly loved you. They'll talk to you about their poverty struggles to make you feel sorry for them and then they'll admit their crush on you just because you're white. I've seen black men from Nigeria saying that they're not into black women. Then just meeting for one week, now they say they want to marry with you. I know fast. That's just how they roll, once they see an opportunity to get out of poverty and green card because yes they will assume that you will take them to your county. They don't want to stay in Nigeria. They want to get out of Nigeria. Whether it's usa, Canada, or Europe they say for a better life like jobs. Because in Nigeria there's an unemployment crisis terrible economy. Oh no I'm not racist hahaha. Every nigerian told me this okay. It's the same old stories. Nothing new. If you don't believe me, then I'll challenge you to go on speak with the Nigerian men. Everything i said, it will happen to you. They all use the same tactics. Even their own parents encourages their kids to scam people.
Terrible country. Poor. Sweet smooth talkers but they will betray you and will do the most brutal evil shit to you. Mark my words. I'm not joking. But go on at your own risk. Go on. I dare you. Go on. I'll not stop you for ruining your own life putting yourself at risk, they never cared about you and never loved you. They only money chasers, and they'll do ANYTHING to get money including crimes and including marrying you just to exploit you putting you into use. And when you cry, they run ....they disappear ghost you because they avoid accountability they don't care about your feelings so you'll never hear an apology from them. They're cold evil hearted. You can cry and cry, you'll beg them to change for you but they'll never change unfortunately. You'll get your heart broken. They're capable in abandoning you and the kids ( if ya'll had kids together ). Because he'll blame everything on you. Although you're a victim, but he'll act like you're the monster and he's the victim. He will manipulate you. He will gaslight you. You'll be the most depressed woman on this earth, so much pain. He will laugh at your pain. You start to feel like you wanna kill him because you knew that you didn't deserve all that pain and that you were a good woman just wanting love with good intentions. But frankly, just because you have good intentions it doesn't mean that they'll have good intentions back. Don't expect that everyone is like you. There was nothing wrong with you. It's just that there is good people and there is bad evil people. They will betray you. Fair warning ⚠. Don't make say i told you so if you didn't listened to me.
You should, we are wonderful and very hardworking people.
The biggest life survivors anywhere... No matter how hard it is for us, we still live.
Yeah, and we're generally very hospitable too...too hospitable sometimes. But well hard times for us truly 😊
Thanks bro
As a doctor, simply lighting the with a lighter is no where, not even close to what you need to decontaminate the tools. Typically a hot steam oven or a dry one in case of saloons is needed to sanitize the tools.
Not saying that his work is unsafe but definitely don't think it has 0 risks
Yep
Yes, this is gross and dangerous
Would rubbing alcohol sanitize it enough?
I was looking for his comment. I’m a surgical tech. I’m familiar with how long surgical stainless steel instruments need to be exposed with pressurized steam and the pre cleaning of the instruments with enzymatic soap and hot water
Could not agree more
“ as you can see he cuts it really short so you don’t have to come back”
Damn, he put America to shame
Edit: mom, I’m famous!!!
dude worst thing about america is the toenail clippers. pieces of shit they are ruining this country! SHAME AMERICA! SHAME!
I can feel the pain of cutting ur nails TOO short
That just looks painful!

Bro I would tip way more than the actual cost those people have to touch random peoples doggy’s 💀
I respect this hustle instead of scamming people like many others do, I wouldn't want my nails cut so short though that drives me crazy lol
The young man is a blessed miracle workers who deserves so much more.. may God bless him this season
The kid's work is superb🎉❤
As a Nigerian, it's sort of refreshing to see foreigners appreciate my country. In some other places here, you'd get the same service for even less. You heard that right, about $0.05. Keep up the good work.
You have a beautiful country! I hope to visit one day
I always admire how clean and precise people are with the right tools
This is why i want to be rich, so i can bless souls like this 1 many times over.
I just hope the young man received a very large tip for his services. God bless him
My nails are screaming with how short he cut them!!! Ouch!!!😅
Thank you! Everyone is saying how good but if nails are too short they hurt
Also raises the risk for ingrown toenails which hurrttttt
I had mine yestarday and this is not only in Lagos but all over nigeria for decades.
We call them MAI YANKAN QUMBA
But with manicure I prefer them to just cut off the nails no scraping
@@liloveableexactly it hurts
Way too short
Thank you for showing the world that Nigeria is not bad as they paint it to be I enjoy it work 😊
Dont let them cut them too short. If you cut it too short, you have a big chance of an ingrown toenail. And yes, I’m speaking from experience unfortunately 😢
yeah my toe hurt just by watching this..
And scraping the nail like that makes your nails often to thinz especially on the hand.
I had an ingrown toenail in November 2021 for wearing a really tight shoe in winter. It was painful 😭 and expensive

U sabi 👌
Rounding the toenails is iffy too, no? I was always told to cut them straight across to avoid ingrown nails?
Doesn’t matter what they do to help it
Such a cute and HARDWORKING kid!! ❤❤❤
Dang he's fast at that, and very thorough at the same time. Amazing job 👍
The scraping of the top layer and cutting them really short, will help to protect you from toenail fungus too I learned about it in cosmetology
Removing the top layer weakens your nail and the fungus is remedied by being clean.
@@Mikey-ym6okweakened nail doesn’t matter if you aren’t trying to grow them out
You went to a horrible cosmetology school then because cutting them that short can and will cause ingrown toenails. Ingrown toenails can become deadly.
@anondfgho also too short is painful
@@anondfghohow short they are cut isn’t the cause of ingrown toenails. It’s about how the curve is cut. That’s why straighter is recommended.
Young man ❤ bless him, making an honest living🙏🏽
Thanks for your patronage and for selling Nigeria 🇳🇬 to the world ❤
I got mine done yesterday. Gave him 200nra, waiting for my change and this guy just pocket it and said thanks. I started wondering, when did the price increase from 100 to 200 kuma? Lol
damn he scammed you
I'm sure we all know 100 naira/ $0.12 can't pay for that service anywhere in the west so stop whining

As a Nigerian I am glad they cut nails perfectly
I think it's attractive for a man to take care of himself ❤
Its a great honor to be receive this service from another man as well.

my anxious ass:
I hope you had a great time in Nigeria I’m a different tribe, but the thing is that everyone in Nigeria is great❤

OMG I feel like my nails are so thin if he scraped that much off of them I would have nothing left 😂
Wish this kid a bright future! Great work ethic in mastering his craft.
Cutting nail that short actually makes ur fingers and toes more prone to ingrowns
I'm Nigerian. And such treatment is available almost everywhere in Nigeria, not just in Lagos. And yes, its just #100
as a nigerian im so mad at what the government has turned a country of people with good hearts to do. May God bless you and him❤
Why don't you send your hard earned money to your peeps then to help them?
I hate it when people blame the government for everything!
Those in government are Nigerians!
In Nigeria they always cut your nails short i remember my parents cutting my nail and they cut them so short it felt like they were digging into my foot and it got really red after 😅
thats cause your nail is messed up and growing in your skin. Its called an ingrown nail

There is nothing worse then my nails being cut way to short bro that shit feels awful

Why is everyone in these comments comparing this person's work to what is done in America? And I hoped he paid this child more than 12 cents!

I live in Lagos and it’s so beautiful here you should go to lufasi or Lekki conservation center they are so pretty
that’s actually really cool
My husband is From Lagos. I’ve been there 3x now and I love the atmosphere and culture everyone always finding ways to make an income, never far for any kind of service you may never otherwise think of like Cobblers, beauty, food, you name it you will find it. I was on route to airport and forgot to get a desk flag and my husband waved someone and got one without any issues
That's really clean
Sorry for not talking about how much the kid deserves for his work but… HAVAIANAS 🇧🇷
i thought the same KKKKKKKK
Né kkkkkkkk
I always cut my nails very short and recently have been giving myself a little bit of white bc I’ve realize that cutting them too short might actually cause an ingrown nail to occur.
The kid’s work is super nice and affordable!
It looks so comfy
Pay more if you can. Help with a good tip. What you consider a "tip" can be a "fortune" in the right hands.
thankfully this serviceman realizes its more beneficial to the people keeping it cheap rather than jacking up the price because it looks good. more people need to be like him and help out the people instead of focusing on wealth
This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
I would have given the boy a tip he did so well and tried to save you money too. Good man right there.
Burning things doesnt make things sterile. 💀Look it up 😑
Edit: especially foot fungus and athletes foot. Fire cant just burn that off. Athletes food is contagious, and foot fungus can sometimes be contagious.
The reason they do this is because those tools are scarce in those parts the only metal tools you’ll find are ones that you need and toe clippers are at the bottom of the list
The boy's a professional
Looks great, I hope you tipped him extremely well ❤
