- Many men from Northern Nigeria perform these pedicure and manicure services around Lagos. They typically walk around with their characteristic clicking noise to gain attention.
If you think it is unsanitary, don't worry as they use fire to clean their tools between customers.
You can call them over for a $0.12 pedicure or $0.24 if you want to do both your hands and feet. It is one of the very unique things about Lagos. The only other place I see this in Africa is in Northern Nigeria where many of these men originally come from.

@@IgnoranceIsNotCute yeh that's not how sterilization works. It requires, time, pressure, and heat in something like an autoclave. Otherwise you're looking at chemical disinfection, and that still takes time.

He needs a new strong lighter, and a new sponge every time, or at least a fluid to sanitize it. I would suggest to up the price a little, for these things.

Yes, I understand places like this can be unhygienic. But usually they kill some of the bacteria with a lighter on the blade. In any case, it can only be harmful if there’s blood to blood contact i.e. he cuts you and the bacteria enters your body.

Even here in the states I stopped going to the nail salons 💆🏽♀️ & started doing it myself after one of my fingers got an infection , too much of a risk & way too expensive. I was able to buy majority of my equipment with the $ I’d spend in one appointment.
