Dude... I have been using this monitor for 7 months now with a HDMI cable and I was always sad that i couldn't get DP to work. Now that you suggested to force the cable into the monitor, guess what happened?.. It works. Lol. Thank you.

Nvidia GPU's are compatible with freesync now.
Edit: Also the better chance of it being supported is if its gtx series or rtx series... So newer the gpu the better the chances of it having freesync support

What totally sucks is that you can't save color settings in any profiles/modes. The FPS mode is really weird, turns most of the leaves grey on the threes and the black guy Finn in Star wars also sometimes goes grey a little bit.
Yo so I’ve been noticing this it’s really weird... thinking of changing the mode but that’d be stupid since all I play is FPS

@@myshitonyoutubeyeah I suppose with fps games you just need the fastest response time option on so RPG should be fine for the picture quality. I prefer my colours to look nice so I’ll be setting mine like that when it arrives.
@@jshazgaming5953 true but I’m not sure the fps profile is faster than any other profile on this monitor. Just choose fastest response time and maybe night vision to brighten dark areas. I also change gamma in Nvidia settings when I’m gaming to get a brighten shadows however don’t use picture settings in geforce experience or whatever it’s called since it lowers the fps.

It's honestly amazes me how so many people will watch the entire video, use the settings and info given in the video but not support the creator.
I wondered by FPS game setting turned off Greens and messed my videos up. Thanks for the vid. Helpful

This "Bug" is i think a mode to prevent the monitor to burn in displaying the same image all the time like you said whilt eating because it keeps refreshing the pixels to prevent that
I thought image retention only happens with IPS panels and not VA?

Thank you man! I just bought this monitor and couldn't figure out how to dim the brightness, my eyes were hurting at night. I love the little red joystick button at the back, awesome idea, I didn't know what it was for, thought it was for "resetting" LOL

@@mr_destroyer_xxx8027 I love it. But for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd day you won't like it, and you will even think it sucks or its bad quality, don't worry its normal and happens with every new monitor. It seems all monitors have different frequencies, in 3 days you will truly see the great quality of this monitor.

@@mr_destroyer_xxx8027 Don't believe bullcrap about MSI, 7 years ago I bought a no-name monitor and it was great until I upgraded, it never failed me. Pick the MSI. Well I don't know if they are going to flicker when they run together, I never ran double monitors at the same time.

Iv'e just purchased this monitor & have tried using & forcing the DP cable in but it just says (no DP) ? I can get a picture with the HD cable but with NO sound , does ANYONE know why? or how I can fix this & get sound please ???
The monitor does not have on-board audio which is in my opinion good bc it doesn't sound really good usually. About the DP not working, he mentioned it in the video at 3:28.
@@jansen7640 Hi , i've tried what he says about the cable . Taken it out & in many times with force . If I force it any harder then it will break. I also found out the monitor doesn't have speakers , I thought it was faulty . Thanks for the reply.
@@vtzexo7790 usually when you have a new device the ports may be a little stiff. I had this with the USB ports of my laptop but after daily plugging in and out it became better.

Apperently Freesync also works with Nvidia cards now as well. I have an RTX2060S but got such a good deal on this moniitor from a buddy i couldnt pass it up. I just enable Freesync in the built in monitor settings and then from there im able to turn on Gsync in the Nvidia control panel.

@@potatowithrice3332 Yes,HDMI only works up to 120hz. DP can go way beyond that.
the option for the fastest response time is grayed out for me. Im using RX580 GPU. I can only select medium and fast. How can i enable the Fastest response time

Actually you can disable freesync and it works. I cant find out how to tho...
@@joewood7617 did you find out how? btw i'm guessing to buy either this monitor or the AOC C24G1 one, the aoc has an advantage because you can adjust the height not like the msi one, but what's better in term of responsiveness and least input lag, ghosting ..etc?
me too i got the same problem, i can't use the fastest setting to activate anti motion blur feature, im using RX580 GPU 8GB

For people that don't know. You need to use your DP port,Display port cable to be able to go above 120hz. HDMI only goes up to 120hz.
check this out they tell you it would support 144hz on hdmi
mine does support 144hz on HDMI

Im not sure how the image enhancement used to be when this video came out 5 years ago, but 1080p gaming videos are often pretty blurry on my 1440p screen. Image enhancement on medium or strong makes it look MUCH better. The RGX filter on Opera GX is pretty similar, although IIRC, its not AS good as on my new MSI monitor.
Hey just wanna say you can use a freesync monitor with a Nvidia GPU, they are usually compatible but it works for me, using a 1660 Super

Whenever I turn on free sync, I don’t have the fastest response time option.
My fastest response time is also disable though i didn't tried to turn off free sync. Next thing with free sync on my fresh rate is 72hz but on display adaptor it's showing 144hz

I was wondering the same thing mate , when I disable FreeSync , I can activate it , and when FreeSync is ON , I can't activate the fastest response time , which is strange and dumb in the same time !!! And now the problem with me is that , I can't even deactivate FreeSync , I deactivate it from the AMD menu , and on monitor still counts it is turned on !!!

Nvidia has support for "some" Freesync monitors, you can check their list of approved freesync monitors, but if your monitor isn't on that list it might bug out while trying to use freesync with an Nvidia GPU. But freesync can be turned on for Nvidia GPUs now, just thought I could clear up some common misconceptions. Have a good one!

Fastest setting is 1ms response time for under 60hz refresh rate. Always run fast or normal
Wish this info was out there. In addition to this comment people should also know Freesync only works with “normal” response time setting. Also for anything 61hz and over, use “fast” respond time.

Gotta connect it to speakers. Best bet is conne ting them to the device you have hooked up to the monitor. E.g Headphone/speaker plugs into your pc/console

The program would have been amazing if it didnt have this flaw on my computer:
When ever i am tabbing out of the game or going to use the other screen, the program is working against me. and when im going back into the game the program shuffles all of my windows between the screens, so it makes everything extremely annoying.
@Taigaboi That is an issue with your game being full screen. Try to run the game in borderless window mode. Then you can tab out without issue.

Have you tried turning on GSync compatibility with this specific model with the new patch of Nvidia supporting FreeSync monitors? If so, can you verify if it works smoothly with the Nvidia G-Sync Pendulum Demo without any issues?

The blue light filter doesn't prevent you from becoming sleepy. It does the opposite. Blue light is more straining on the eyes and disrupts sleeping after long periods of exposure

the mag241c/cr is "compatible" with gsync, but you get some really noticeable "flickering" when it's dark

I can't change the brightness and a few other options on mine, they're just greyed out.
Because you have HDCR on, turn it off and that will allow you to change brightness, just play around with it.

@@arbixnn for me its ok but it has an issue. If you put the response time on extreme mode the textures will become blurry sometimes. By the way im using console ps4 pro. I think this response time will be usefull for pc only👍

HDMI can do 144hz but nothing more. I just bought the MSI 27c4w that has 165hz. So I'd need a displayport cable to get 165hz

setup gsync option not coming in nvidia control panel. i used aoc 144hz freesync monitor of same price before , it has option to enable gsync.
But on msi , no option

How was the text during usual browsing? i've read some post on reddit saying that they experience blurry text and bothers them a lot.
It really is bro..the monitor is ok, looks good and not very expensive but i have 2 major problems: blurry text ( especially when browsing) and headache ( like so bad, even after an 1 hour). So yeah im just gonna return it and buy a 1440p monitor. Still searching for one.

I read that freesync also works if you have an amd cpu so I turned it on. doesn't seem to hurt anything and maybe placebo, but I do notice less screen tearing. also planning to get an amd graphics card pretty soon
