Folks have to understand that this truck holds it's value more than any other truck after it takes the initial depreciation hit. We all need a good reliable vehicle for sure
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer I work in farm appraisal and a previous co-worker who was a farm manager would only drive raptors because a typical 1/2 ton pickup would not stand up to the thousands of miles of bumping and jarring. Good choice for sure.
Some people may think it’s dumb to use a raptor as a farm truck. I say you’re the first person I’ve seen actually put this extremely capable truck to use.
Great video! I was in the market for a used Raptor for all the reasons you mentioned. My daily driver until recently was my F450 King Ranch. Great truck, but when my equipment transport trailer isn't hooked to it, it rides like a sheet of plywood with a steering wheel, and it gets 10 MPG uphill, downhill, loaded or empty. Which isn't awesome right now! I wound up buying a brand new F150 XLT super cab instead (longer bed with the rear doors that open "backwards") . It was an impulse purchase. My 450 was in for service and I noticed the 150. I was able to borrow that truck for a bit while they worked on my big truck. The thing that made me buy it: The seats! My back has been jacked up for 25 years. My King Ranch truck has amazing seats, but you pay for them! I wasn't expecting much from cloth seats in an XLT F150. I was wrong. The seats in that truck were amazing and I bought it that day, for that reason. Over the last several months, I have been surprised at just how many features a "basic" F150 came with. Rear end locker, Apple Car-Play, Ford Pass, multiple driving and terrain modes, that trailer back up thingy that I don't use, and a 302 V8 that has stupid power, but gets over 20 MPG on the long trips......just to name a few. I have never owned a truck smaller than an F250 before. And I am very pleased with the value of my 2021 F150. The truck was just over 40K brand new, with a very good warranty. It doesn't look as cool as a Raptor. But it's a great truck for the money, and it's brand new for less money than I would have been able to find a good used Raptor for in my area.
I put a Undercover ArmorFlex Hard Folding Truck Bed Tonneau Cover on my truck. Ordered on Amazon, put on myself. I would buy it again with no regrets. It's awesome.
Josh the best bed cover on the planet is Roll'n Lock. I had one on my tundra and someone spent a good amount of time trying to break into it without success. It is costly i think i paid $1500 installed but cannot remember. It could have been $1k not sure but its been a great investment

Hope you had as much fun as when I go there. I can't wait till they get all the shelving in and set up on the main floor completed. The old dump looks pretty good also. I really like the new ford app on my work truck. It really helps on the cold days here.

For long trips would be a smaller vehicle with a more efficient engine. Gas prices are only going up. I have my Jeep Cherokee sport for that and my 05 F150 for the farm.

The reason why the 37 packages is a 12k price is because they had to make another frame. To get the larger tires to fit they designed a whole new frame, which they also use for the raptor r

Should be a dang fine truck. I reduced farm assets a couple of years ago before Covid with a 290 lot auction. Did well: too well. Wife decided "we" should keep the farm and buy more stuff: to replace what I just sold. Anyway, upgraded to new or at least nearly new and pleased with that.I must say that it is nice to open the barn and not see oil leaks under the new tractors, get in the seat and all start right up and purr along.Even the ride on new tractors is better. Josh, that's a real nice truck however don't back into something and brake the tail light lens .. that could cost you upwards of $1500. To replace .. just some info for you to chew on and it's not just the Raptor all F150 led lights are $$$$
Also .. don't make it a habit of leaving your key inside your truck reason 1 the Ford truck has a weak door handle that thieves have figured out how to break into the trucks.. example: Matt from demolition ranch had his F-350 broken into and they stole his computer and other items because of this door handle design... Reason 2 this truck has a perimeter sensors that recognize when you come close to the truck and you have your key in your pocket if you leave the key in the truck it will always think that you are near and never fully go to sleep "possibly" causing a battery draw in the electrical system!! I'm not trying to tell you what to do.. it's just things that I have run into as a Ford technician.. take this advice and do with it as you please😃😃😃
The Raptor released in America looks far more sexier than the Raptor released here in Australia. It’ll be later this year when they release the new model with the V6 & look similar to this.

Missing bolts and fasteners are good signs that it has had some off road playtime.
Josh, something I've found is the hand sanitizer will ruin the 'chrome' finish in a ford (looks like the bottom of your steering wheel). I'm not sure why it happens to ford but it does. My RAM has had several drops of sanitizer on the chrome finish and it still looks perfect.
yep....I agree....so will Deep Woods Off....I make sure my hands are totally dry before touching things...new steering wheel is on the way fyi
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer thanks for the tip on deep woods. I use it and I’ll be careful!
Another great video, buddy, and I am looking forward to many road trips and updates with and about the new truck.
What is the price for a new 2017 raptor nowadays? Is it cheaper because that car is amazing and 2024 version didn't change much
it's junk!!!! Look at my video follow up on this truck..Why ford is failing!! DO NOT BUY THIS TRUCK IT IS A PROBLEM VEHICLE!!!!!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer but what if you buy it Brand new ?
Totally agree with you. Nice truck!
Josh, that's a real nice truck however don't back into something and brake the tail light lens .. that could cost you upwards of $1500. To replace .. just some info for you to chew on and it's not just the Raptor all F150 led lights are $$$$
How many miles did it have!? She’s a beauty
I'm watching this video in April 2024. What can you tell about your experience after those years?
Man that looks better than my new Tundra..Makes me wish I had waited and looked for one of these.
I shopped for 2 years before I found the right deal
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Your patience paid off for you..
The tundra will outlive that raptor and maintenance will be cheaper on Toyota
I love you Ford Raptor and the rest of your trucks can you please video on your trucks only
Also .. don't make it a habit of leaving your key inside your truck reason 1 the Ford truck has a weak door handle that thieves have figured out how to break into the trucks.. example: Matt from demolition ranch had his F-350 broken into and they stole his computer and other items because of this door handle design...
Look into installing a catch can system for that motor.
In control of your own the inside and computers like the space shuttle trying to drive around too much computer for me have fun with it though
Nice purchase!
How’d u fine one for 50k I’m looking now for one with decent miles on it and haven’t seen any with low mileage at that price
had it listed on marketplace for $48k the other day and had to pull it down because of spammers
The Raptor released in America looks far more sexier than the Raptor released here in Australia.
It’ll be later this year when they release the new model with the V6 & look similar to this.
Jesus, I didn't know you were ballin' like that.
new f250 $85k.....used raptor? Way less....I just couldn't justify having a sports car...so why not a sports truck that's useful right
Looks new. Good buy.
In Australia you’d pay well over $100k for a used F series Ford truck that is less than ten years old.
That truck here in the US brand new is probably about 70k USD
Nice looking truck kind of like the new Ford Maverick truck but larger, but I would buy a larger bed. New big size trucks are expensive.
I think the Maverick is based on the ranger platform.....no long bed option on a raptor my friend
