    You should get the Cobb Accessport tuner. It will change the life of your truck. It's a must IMO

    Just picked mine up last week.
    2019 Oxford white with 42k miles. The truck is full loaded with 802a + recaros. It also has a 4 inch bds loft / fuel wheels on new 37’ toyos. Paid 49.5k out the door.. absolute steal!

    I had an 18’ raptor. Bought in new in 2018 and owned it until 2021. Truck gained 68k miles in that time period from new. During that period it was in the shop a total of 18 times. 4 for cam phasers, 3 for 4wd issues, 2 for the sunroof track breaking, 2 for the transmission and a whole list of other issues. That was my first and last ford. Best riding truck I’ve had but at what cost…

    I had a 2019 Raptor. I had the cam phasers and hard shifting issues. I remember once it wouldn't shift out of fourth gear. I was at a stop light and I stepped on the gas only to get that in the wrong gear feeling of not enough power. I was able to put it in manual mode and down shift and after that it was working again. It also had this really hard shift after first starting it up. I would leave work drive about 500 feet and it would shift really hard. Usually just the one time after a cold start. Still loved the truck but had more problems that it should. Now I have a base bronco for half the price and none of the issues.

    I had the hard shifting transmission issue on purchase of my 2017 with 48k miles. I got the Cobb tuner and put on their transmission tune. 20k later it is still shifting smooth as butter.

      Hey with the Cobb tuner you purchased, which transmission tune did you find works best? I thought Cobb had a few different transmission tunes to choose from. Thanks!

    • @andrewterrell9180
      @andrewterrell9180 5 месяцев назад

      @@michaelschuerman2847 I am using simulated stock right now. It is like what you would expect Ford to do on their OEM TMC program. OEM+ was only marginally different and as I am putting in some longer trips right now I just went back to the sim stock. I have not tried sport yet. Tons of threads out there with more information than I have too. Cobb has been great and the Accessport is easy to use too.

    It's supposed to shift fast in sport mode. That translates into it feeling hard. It goes through the gears fast. If it's not doing that then something is wrong.

    Hey man. Love Raptors. One of my dream vehicles. There’s a 19’ with 114k miles, maintained meticulously, and has even had new shocks installed by the dealer. I’ve heard these trucks last for 250k miles with no problems, but I’ve heard horror stories as well. Was wondering if you think this is a truck o could trust long term, especially with me running 91+ octane fuel with oil changes every 5k miles

    • @f1fiftyjimmy
      @f1fiftyjimmy  3 месяца назад

      @@ItsZeebs It can be hit or miss. I fell like the 19 and 20’s are a little better for kinks being worked out. I plan to drive my raptor for quite awhile so time will tell on longevity. Biggest thing is just get a Ford ESP warranty so if anything happens you’re covered. But overall I have no regrets with mine!

    I owned a 2018 Gen 2, put roughly 60k miles on it and it had all of those issues. With an added bonus of leaking coolant from one of the turbos which caused it to overheat. I always loved the Raptor but the build quality was subpar and I got rid of it. Best of luck with your truck.

    I really want a Gen 2 Raptor, I’m actually in the market for one but I have so many concerns due to the problems I keep hearing about these trucks. It just seems like they have too many problems to be 40 to 60K premium truck. Reliability is my number one priority and I don’t sense that on this truck. Wondering if I should get a Gen1 or Gen3 instead.

    Hey Jim ! Should I spend 45k on a 2018 raptor with around 50k miles, or is it ok to buy one used with around 80k miles for just under 40k? That’s my current dilemma, debating if paying more for fewer miles is worth it. Not financial advice, but what does your gut tell you?

    • @f1fiftyjimmy
      @f1fiftyjimmy  5 месяцев назад

      I was in that same dilemma before I bought mine. I’d say really depends on how long you think you’ll keep it. There’s no harm with an 80k mile raptor, just get that ford esp on it. I knew I would keep it for some years and drive it so I was trying to buy one at the 50-75k mile range. Mine had 59k when I bought it.

    If I could get your opinion or anyone’s for matter; I actually just dropped off my Raptor at the dealer cause while on the freeway I was cruising at about 80. When I wanted to pass a car and I gave more gas, my transmission started shifting to random gears. It went from 1-4-8-5 etc. RPMs went extremely high, then back to 10th gear then drove normal. This happened to me several times but it’s not consistent. It just happens out of nowhere. However this time, my transmission overheated and started leaking trans fluid. Is this random shifting also known as issue? If so what’s the main issue caused by it? Luckily I purchased the extended warranty but I’m just hoping there’s an updated part or something just as Ford updated the cam phasers. Any input would help a lot!!

    • @f1fiftyjimmy
      @f1fiftyjimmy  3 месяца назад +1

      I actually every so often get jumpy rpms but its only a certain time. Say I get to work wait 3-4 hours to drive my truck and itll do this right away one time and then it doesn't do it anymore. My guess is for my truck either a tune or getting the transmission memory reset would fix it.
