Excellent information! I have a collection of the bags and wanted to start a quilt. Thanks for giving brands of fabrics that match and the thread issue!
You have just given me inspiration to start on my Crown Royal quilt. Thank you so much for this information because I didn't have a clue where to start preparing the bags. Now to decide on the pattern and complimentary colors. I will be checking out your website for fabrics.
+Marnet Waters I'm glad I could help! We have some beautiful fabrics and patterns for our Crown Royal Quilts. l'll attach the link to the patterns: www.junctionfabric.com/shop/BooksPatterns/p/Crown-Royal-Quilt-Patterns-x9522127.htm Have fun!!
Hilaaarious..my wife is making one for her father who had 100s of these bags over 20+ years ... she says she loves the quilt in the back, and then you say its called “ill drink to that”... That literally is his daily go to saying. Tooo perfect.
I have made several crown royal quilts and have never removed the stitching and they have held up nicely. Not sure how your bags are different than mine but I prefer to keep the stitching. I guess its all in what you want it to look like and experiment with the stitching to see if yours is the melting kind. Have fun with your quilts, make them yours.
Do you put a light fusible on the back of the Crown Royal piece? Or have you ever done a quilt and appliqued the Crown Royal piece on fabric? I really found your video helpful. Thanx.
I'm working on this pattern now and the long strips are only about 2.5 inches wide,, so I think I'll have to use two different fabrics with the one square of Crown Royal printing. I have 52 bags, and I think I must have the smaller bags because one bag was a larger one and I could have gotten wider strips from it. So, how much fabric do you think I'll need for the squares around Crown Royal and the strips and something different for the background. I think I'd like to purchase Kauffmans purple for the squares around the Crown Royal printing, and what is the printed fabric you are using in the quilt. I like it.
If you are using all 52 bags on the "I'll drink to that," you will need 3.5 yards of the purple and 5.5 yards of the background. I enjoy using batik for the background on all my Crown Royal quilts.
I want the fabric indeed, I will call shortly...I am eating lunch. But I have a quick question. Will that be enough to do that "your favorite bag" quilt, but extending it to a size 60 x 68. Do you think... I have plenty of bags.
Is there anything close on your website that you would have to it. I really want to do this quilt in some sort of shade of this type green! I think purple and green go well together and they are my favorite colors!

If you launder your bags, to take the smell away, then just wash them on cold so they still get clean, just not as good but still more than enough to get the smell out, but keep the prettiness
You’re the mom I’ve never had 😢. I love your quilts
That is very nice. Thank you.
I needed a reason to drink, now I have it!
LOL.
Haha now it’s 2020 everyone does!

Very clever... I've never heard of Crown Royal bags before,,,

Have you ever used featherweight light interfacing iron on. I’m making one now that bag fabric a little thin
Love this. I have huge collection of these bags , maybe now I’ll try making that quilt. How many bags will I need to make lap quilt?
App. 25
Have you ever used featherweight interfacing on the fabric from the bag.. to me feels very thin. Thankyou
I was wondering do you put the bags in the washing machine and use Landry de Detergent? I'm getting ready to start my first crown royal bag quilt
Dont know how I got here but that is a bad ass quilt
Thank you!
Do you put a light fusible on the back of the Crown Royal piece? Or have you ever done a quilt and appliqued the Crown Royal piece on fabric? I really found your video helpful. Thanx.
I do not put a fusible on the back of the bags. I have not appliqued the bags on the top.
Thanks for the tips.
Happy to help!
I just cut the top off and ripped the other sides that melt apart and they came undone easily it made the process faster.
Do you put an iron on stabilizer on the backs of the fabric of the Crown Royal Bags?
No, just treat it like a piece of flannel. .

i would like to know the name of the material you used in I'll drink to that.
For the ‘one for the road’, what size is the CR square? Im trying to prepare for when my pattern gets here.
The squares are cut to 4.25 square.
After washing, do you let bags air dry or dry on low in dryer
Dryer on regular settings.
How do you wash the bags temperature wise? Will they bleed?
coty1515 I just use luke warm to cold water. I wash them all by themselves and they have never bleed in the past.
Do you use steam when pressing these bags?
Not usually.
What is the pattern you used called?

Where do I find the links for the quilt?
Thank you
Here is a link to order the patterns. www.junctionfabric.com/shop/BooksPatterns/p/Crown-Royal-Quilt-Patterns-x9522127.htm
How did you laundry these, mine no longer have the gold
No special washing technique. We have never had a problem with the lettering washing out. However the bag stitching can break down with heat.
Is this pattern still available? I tried to order it, however, got no response from the order page. :-(

How can I contact you.
Either through email at junctionfabric8@gmail.com or call us at 605-347-2235

Melt in the dryer? Or melt under the iron?🤔
The fabric doesn't melt. It is possible for the rope/cording to melt.
@@Junctionfabric I know but does it melt in the dryer or under the clothes iron?
I apologize for my misunderstanding. It can melt under the iron.
@@Junctionfabric oh ok got it😉

Good point.
Now I'm worried. bags are in the washer right now, I didn't even think about the gold comming off.
I’m going to try and make a guitar strap out of those bags.
Let us know how it went.

The brand is Oliso.
My bag melted on my iron 😢
