SPONGEBOB: The Movie Directed by Michael Bay When a radioactive sponge falls to the bottom of the ocean after a failed lab experiment and infects a whole colony of sea creatures. It's up to them to take down the evil company known as P.L.A.N.K.T.O.N. To save their town, once and for all. Mark Wahlberg as Spongebob SquarePants Nicolas Cage as Plankton T.J. Miller as Patrick Liam Neeson as Mr. Krabs Steve Buscemi as Squidward Megan Fox as Sandy Cheeks Shia LaBeouf as Larry the Lobster John Turturro as Squlliam Fancyson Vin Diesel as Gary
The only thing you left out though is, if you knew bay and franchises, it's that he would've also added a random human as the focus of 99.9% of the movie, even WITH it being called spongebob
I hate when people respond to criticisms of a bad movie with "It's just a kids' movie." That's no excuse for terrible writing and character development. Just look at Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks. You know why they're the biggest names in kids' movies? Because they actually put effort into their work!
Looks like Michael Bay listened to this, because the sequel to this film will have Casey Jones, Rhino and the pig guys and the ninja will actually use martial arts rather than guns
0:42 Donatello wasn't a painter, he was a sculptor. Michaelangelo did some painting, but he hated it. More accurately she named the turtles after Renaissance _artists._
Just wait till they do a dark turtles movie with the villain being slash(the evil alien/turtle that wears similar gear to the heroes but his bands are black)
MrKlausbaudelaire Yeah, lots of kids TV shows are incredibly complex, with much more well-written characters, better plots, and intense discussions on serious subjects that are rarely found in adult shows. Just look at Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, Gravity Falls, and Steven Universe.
***** there is even a new one coming to Nickelodeon that seens to be following this line of mistery and full plot. heck, even BEFORE kids shows had better effort like Animaniacs and El Tigre.
+Patrizio Ferretti it was cruel comics with a lot of satire. So it wasn't for kids. Well, even first movie was a bit more like comics and a lot of parents started shitstorm that brought us "go ninja go" and defeating enemys using food instead of weapons in second movie
+MrKlausbaudelaire I agreed. It's sad how a kid degraded himself by saying it's just a kids movie because kids are actually smart. They should never have to lower their standard just because Hollywood Studio says so. Look at cartoon shows like Young Justice and Batman Animated series or Avatar the last airbender. Those were really complex series with adult theme and they were great. There's also shows like Girl meets worlds and Good Luck Charlie that teaches morals and values.
3:29 Now that's what I call a honest trailer. Yeah I know "kids' movie is not an excuse for stupid scenario". As a matter of fact, when it is about a franchise like Ninja Turtles, it totally is! I mean some movies are just meant to entertain kids, they can't all make them think. Back when we were kids, I don't think we used to watch an oscar winning movie everyday. Sometimes, it was Prince of Egypt or the Lion King, sometimes it was Street Fighter the movie or Dungeons and Dragons.
Thank you someone who gets it. I haven't seen this film and I don't plan to. But I don't think bad script writing or story is excusable, just cos its a "kids" movie. But I hate it when people don't then recognise how movies back in the 80's and 90's...ect, were just as poorly written, yet get praise because of nostalgia. Nostalgia is cool and all and I have my own nostalgic movies that I'm probably biased towards, some popular, some not so popular, and an opinion is an opinion, and people can say all they want about a movie having poor acting, characters or story or whatever, theres no official rules stating that someone can't or shouldn't be aloud to think a movie is good or not as a piece of entertainment or art. Its freedom of expression (something North Korea doesn't seem to like too much recently xD) and thats what it should stay as. People who claim one movie is better than another and that any other opinion is wrong or that everyone should agree with it, do not know what "freedom of expression" means. But there are certain times when some people just say something was awesome back when they were younger cos of nostalgia even if it wasn't that good, and criticize newer stuff of the same quality or sometimes even better because its either too similar, too different or not as good in their nostalgic memory and opinion, as the films they watched when they were younger. I bet you in 10 or 20 years, kids that grew up in the later 90's, 2000's and 2010's will probably have the same nostalgia trip and popular opinion will sway their way and then go on and on that way for years to come through the years. Its been like that for several decades, I don't know why it'll stop now, especially at a time when making nostalgic movies is paramount for movie studios so they can real in audiences (and no not a reference to the ACTUAL movie studio Paramount who made this film xD). I mean heck, there are 3 big sequels coming out next year that are in franchises nostalgic for many reasons, Jurassic World, Terminator Genysis and of course Star Wars Episode VII. Jurassic Park hasn't had a film in over 10 years, Star Wars hasn't in five (and regardless of what people think of the prequels, there are many people who do like those films out there as well as the originals so its not just original trilogy nostalgia that counts in terms of box office sales), and Terminator did have a recent movie, but not a whole lot of people remember that, especially compared to the first two. Just glad someone else gets what I think about that topic on nostalgia and the times movies were made and such. :)
And like, please, you go into the cinema to watch a movie about mutant turtles who were taught how to fight by a giant rat. Your chances of having an adult deep well written plot go down the toilet together with that ninja manual book from the get set go
Yeah, I think the "it's a kids movie" thing is a copout on this one. I am no defender of the original live action Turtles movies, all of which are terrible upon a modern re-watch (yes, even the first one, despite being better than average for kids comic/cartoon adaptations back in the day), but even leaving all the baggage of TMNT behind, there's not a lot the Bay version has going for it. I mean, is it really for kids? With the giant monster turtles and the erection jokes and the overly twisty plot and constant shots of Megan Fox's ass? It's certainly not for teenagers, either, and it's not for adult fans of the characters. So who's it for? I submit it's for nobody, really. Just a mishmash of built-by-committee screenplay chunks and action sequences with no one steering the ship and no thought or heart behind it beyond the love of money. One doesn't need to have any nostalgia for the other versions of the TMNT to see that.
***** Yeah, that's as ridiculous as a movie about wizards, elves, dwarves, humans and hobbits. No, my sarcasm isn't meant to imply I expect an epic along the lines of Lord of the Rings out of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but I don't assume a good story at a mature (in the actual sense, not the "Mature Content" sense).
***** It is a difference between having respect for the source material or not I suspect. LotR didn't scream "formulaic cash in flick" and was in the hands of people that didn't want that.
These Honest Trailers are actually scarily accurate. He predicted Casey, Bebop and Rocksteady.......can you predict the next Spider-Man movie being good please?
I'm currently teaching my first graders the difference between opinions and facts. Either you never got past the first grade or no one ever taught you the difference.
But it didn't. I loved teenage mutant Ninja turtles when I was younger. I was seven when this movie came out and loved it. When you see it from kids point of view it's awesome. I get that adults will notice more but the target audience probably enjoyed it like me
The old TMNT films (except the 3rd one) were way WAY better than the Michael Bay abomination. This was great, seeing these guys tear the Michael Bay movie apart!
"Michelangelo is funny." No, he's freaking creepy as hell. I cringed with almost every line he said that had even the most remote relevance to April. They took the most fun-loving, innocent of turtles and turned him into a gods damned stalker.
I never found it interesting anyway. Srsly - some mutants who act like "bros" and eat pizza all day. Where do they get money from :D Selling sewer stuff in sewer Stinky Market?
Well, i didnt grow with the original ninja trutles, but i did grow up watching the other ninja trutles and i enjoyed watching and rewatching that show a quite a bunch.
What are you talking about? The comics, the original show, the 2003 show, and the newest show are all still amazing, and the first two films where great too the only thing is the third movie.
I'm a Massive Ninja Turtles fan, Comic Books, 1st 90s movie, 1987 show, 2003, 2012 show etc. I'll say this about the movie. When the turtles were onscreen it was pretty good but everything else was Meh. At least it was MILES ABOVE Ninja Turtles 3 and the Next Mutation......God those were just terrible
Honestly I like the 2000 era turtles better than the first cartoon. It was more serious but still kept the action. I also don't have nostalgia glasses so I am being impartial
I'd recommend you check out the original comics that started in the 80's by Mirage Studios. They owned a third of the 2003 cartoon that's why it was so faithful to the source material.
I honestly thought that this was a good film (I coincidentally saw it last night), but compared to the Original it's a bit less fun, though the comics were dark and gritty (like the Mask which they turned into a fun film for the entire family) I honestly like the less dark, less gritty, more joyful turtles from the last century more, but as a movie I didn't hate it, in fact I did like it, if it was labeled anything other than the T.M.N.T. I would've even loved it, and usually I find Megan Fox irritating, but she had a nice pair of thighs in this film, and that butt-shot was amazing (yes, I'm objectifying her, here). Just the storyline was rubbish, the turtles being her child-hood bets, and... I mean pets, and having a Non-Hispanic European-American Shredder in the Original plotline rather than a Japanese one (although this one was lousy, the irritating amount of coincidences in modern films somehow make *every* villain somehow close related to the protagonist so this is a bit better in story-telling) would've been rubbish. So as much as I don't hate the movie, I don't love it either, it was so-so, but not a waste of my time as I was entertained most of the time, and Gods I love all the Microsoft product placement (Microsoft Skype, Microsoft Windows Phone, the Microsoft Camera, or maybe it was the Microsoft Lumia Camera, and of-course the Lenovo ThinkPad), though something that seemed odd was when the girl said that she was ''Skyping'' with her mother, I don't know if there is some sort of San Francisco ''Apple Bubble'', but from news articles I've heard that Americans ONLY say ''FaceTiming'' to each other, and that saying ''Skyping'' sounds as odd to their ears as saying ''Binging'' when you're talking about searching things on the internet, at-least that's what I read about U.S. Americans, but I know that 99% of all Americans (according to their media) own iPods, iPhones, iPads, and iMacs (ALL of them), and in literally everywhere else in the world you can use ''Skyping'' as a verb, but to U.S. Americans you have to somehow say ''FaceTiming'' 'cause Apple.
I agree. I grew up with the original 80's series. I got a chance to watch the 2K series long after it was over and it was better. But I do give credit to the Nick series they found a nice in between. Fast Forward is maybe the worst of the series and Back to the Sewers was stupid but no bad
***** Oh yeah the last two seasons of the 4kids series wasn't that great. At least the series finale Turtles Forever was good. The newest one is good too it's just that it felt too much like a kid show so I stopped watching after the first 5 eps.
losnf jslefn Exactly just think of all the kids movies we call beloved classics and loved as children. They sure as hell weren't those minimum budget pieces of shit. They were the brilliantly directed master pieces with great characters, dramatic plots, and beautiful scenes. Kids may be willing to swallow pretty much anything you give them but that doesn't mean they don't notice or appreciate quality when they see it.
I appreciate that you said 2012 is a close second. Too many 2003 fans shrug it off cos if the animation and more colourful approach, buts actually really spectacular
I don't understand why people say that the 2003 version is underrated and the 2012 version is overrated. I rarely see nor hear any TMNT 2003 haters anywhere I go, it gets lots of praise, while the 2012 version has lots of haters (sometimes have a feeling it actually has more haters than fans). Imo the 2003 version gets the love it deserves and the 2012 version is underrated imo. But I love both versions anyway, both were very enjoyable imo
TMNT 80's cartoon was really popular, I always wondered why they just didn't make a feature film of that. I know as a kid I didn't want the 1990 one. I watched all of these at the movies.
I think 3 was way worse than 2014. The 3rd movie dropped the plot of the first two, had some random as time travel plot, the puppets were possibly the worst looking thing aside from the 'out of their shells' tour puppets. The dialog was corny...beyond corny, it pretty much just expressed how much they weren't even trying anymore. Now, I thought this when I saw it in the theaters as a kid. Not with as much understanding as now, but I was horrified and disappointed beyond belief. The Bay turtles are horribly disgusting in their design, but the graphics are amazing, the fights were pretty good. The acting (aside from fox) was really good. The action was good. The plot had potential until they reshot everything and made it "april o'neil and the plotholes" movie, but still worlds beyond tmnt 3. Trust when I say I was drinking mad haterade for the Bay movie and it's still a disappointment...but putting it below 3? I don't know, I can at least get through the 2014 movie without cringing and blushing from embarrassment.
JonCombo Probably because the cartoon was still pretty new and the comic had about 6 years of a following and they wanted to do a tribute to the origin of well...the turtles. I'm guessing the director was a bigger fan of the comics than the cartoon. At least if you've never read the comic, the movie has put that plot in the lime light for the franchise, instead of focusing on the cartoon version and leaving the comic version to die. Besides, Eastman and Laid still owned it back then, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have been so on board with a cartoon version live action since...you know...Laid hates that version.
it's funny how everyone keeps whining and complaining about Michael Bay, but they keep watching his movies, thereby paying him and keeping him making more movies.. this will continue until we just stop watching.
*like the movie because sucker for trying to catch references to the old movies, cartoons, comics, and just to poke fun at the movie and people alike. Also See: Dragon Ball Evolution - First Date Fun*
A franchise like this is just like MAD magazine: It was always the best when _you_ were a kid. After that, every attempt to continue it further ruins it. For me, it jumped the shark with the 1990 film.
It was a lot better than I thought it would be (I didn't see it in the theaters, dvd on redbox). And I'm glad you guys acknowledged that with the kid coming in at the end of the video. With Michael Bay and these franchises weather you like them or not are realistically just one portion in HUGE series. For TMNT there are already so many movies, shows, games, and comics that people are bound to like and dislike something. But just keep things in perspective. We don't need to condemn this movie for everything. Maybe down the line someone else can make your perfect version of the turtles on the big screen, because a reboot is bound to happen anyway.
+Girolamo Esposito Michael Bay should commit suicide, he will never be able to undo the damage he has done with his involvement with the transformers and TMNT.
+Girolamo Esposito Actually, people yearn for mementos from the past, even if this movie sucks, if the original movie sucks, even the cartoon was a product placement in the first place. Because all we want it's to connect to our childhood heroes. So Marketing keep dragging us to this shit by re-using old relatable concepts (since they can't create anything anymore) with any piece of garbage script they can find.
Ahh I never thought about that, yes the Duck Avenger is the Duck above all Ducks! Help Duck Avenger in his fight against crime and subscribe to my channel!
Being a fan of the original cartoon and movies, I can agree that I liked these turtles personalities. If they could these guy and put them into a completely different movie I'd be happy.
+MrFedoraFilm Not only that but Shredder looks like he's in and actually looking like he's supposed to and not like a transformer, also Casey Jones, the fact that the Foot Clan look like actual ninjas and not dudes with machine guns lol ...I gotta say the 2nd one looks REAAALY promising so far!!!
+alexandra galici Michael Bay should commit suicide, he will never be able to undo the damage he has done with his involvement with the transformers and TMNT.
+CaptBackwards Naa... Maybe Transformers, but I predict TMNT will be a strong franchise for decades to come, even after Micheal runs this particular movie series into the ground.
Please say: "We come from the land of the ice and snow / From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow / The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands / To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!"
That was the MOST honest and ACCURATE trailer I have ever seen in my life. This should have been the ACTUAL trailer for this film. I'm biased--I'm from before dancing turtles (which I believe was from the sequel of the very first one--correct me if I'm wrong because I could have sworn I didn't want to see it because of Vanilla Ice). Anyway, those were creepy-looking turtles in the reboot. 5 David Rose "EWWS" for hideous things.
I've finally watched this movie and I have to say that NO, this movie is NOT as bad as everyone says. In my own Turtle movie ranking, this movie is my 3rd favourite. The third movie will always be the worst one of all and I didn't like the second one either.
It is not nearly as bad as people say it is, but still it had some really dumb moment. Too much April for one, also the turtles backstory was pointlessly convinient, but they did the turtles pretty good in my opinion, shame they were almost side-characters in a movie called Teenage mutant ninja turtles. Action was also pretty good, even if it was very over-the-top most of the time, like that truck escape scene, hilariously dumb. Anyways, this movie gets too much hate, people seem to forget it could have been much MUCH worse.
Nick Rick Comments and complaints like this is the reason why I can't take most of the haters seriously. You are not even judging the movie itself, you are judging the actress on a personal level. You are not criticizing, you are just hating.
***** See, you are wrong. I'm judging the movie argument being around the stupid journalist instead of the turtles. I couldn't care less about the actress.
the only movie i want michael bay to make from now on is....wait for it....there's gotta be something....something with lots of explosions and no story.....call of duty.
wow thats actually a good idea, perfect fit for MB and no one will care if he fucks up the story. hell he'll probably even come up with a better o-- nevermind
I love how the sequel has every character mentioned in this trailer. It's like they made the second movie based entirely on suggestions from this video. lol
I'm sorry but i remember watching all the old ones from 92 but this was not as bad as everyone says it is. People just cant get over different looking ninja turtles but whateva i liked it.
People are just biased because Bay is involved and Fox is in it too. They just love to hate on these people no matter how much or how little they are involved in the project. I've went into this movie prepared to hate it because of all the hate for this movie going around the internet, but I ended up liking this movie. This pretty much confirms that you can't trust the words of reviewers and critics going around the internet as vace value, because most of them have already a biased position, eventhough they would never admit it.
The movie was entertaining , don't know why people expect proper plot and character development in a kids movie about mutant turtles lol ! Only issue I had was they totally underused WHOOPI! She was in 2 scenes and wasn't even trying to be funny :)
Josh Dugan You are seriously saying that kids movies shouldn't have a plot or don't need one? lol, even kids deserve that much. Honestly I don't understand how people could sit through this without getting annoyed and bored by halfway into the film.
Just Another Fan Or maybe people have no brains and just love to hate and look for things to hate to the point they don't even know how entertainment feels like and only say that people with no brains can enjoy this. Maybe it's the other way around. Who knows?
Im sick of people hating on this new film. What did you guys expect it to be? its a story about 7 ft tall mutant ninja turtles, does that honestly sound like source material that can be taken seriously? i grew up on the first movie, and still to this day love it for what it is, but come on times have changed since then and its time to get a somewhat update for the turtles. I'll admit i hate the fact that this movie is ripping off the bad guy plot from the amazing spiderman (i hated that film), but the turtles have more personality and depth to them in here than they did in the first film.
People are too picky now-a-days. They want every movie to be iconic. I actually really like this movie. It's good every now and then to get away from the serious ssides of films. I gave the movie a 7/10
This movie was intended for children though.. He wanted to go with a more comical way with this movie. The old movies of TMNT were worst than this. Of course the animated films could be better. Lots more could be done. But it wasn't the best. But it wasn't the worst. I really enjoyed this coming from a 18 year old
Rafael Teles It doesn't matter. Everyone has different perspectives of movies. That "Better Taste" non-sense is stupid since people have opinions. You may like something I dislike and vice versa. I'm saying. What did you expect from 7-foot teenage mutant ninja turtles.. Did you expect a Titanic film or something?
MrTucan13 Oh wow ... don't think Titanic was the best movie reference lol ... but I'm totally with this club! I personally liked it because I felt it stayed with the spirit and still managed to squeeze some 20th century humour in (cue comic timing elevator scene).
Abrahan roberts oh damn he added a s, oh god please spare this poor soul for adding an s at the end of "Runners" god please spare him take me instead I got grammar mistake up the ass with this comment..... thats what we call a troller boys and girls
Nicko Bagaskara Ya that part I agree with. They're trying to make the turtle's faces look close to normal but it falls a bit flat. The rest of their bodies are believable to me
Trevor Slake urk he will probably do that thing where he talks to someone but doesn't look them in the face until he finishes the sentence. seriously that annoys the shit out of me in Arrow
Adam Hudson Oh are you fucking kidding me. Why would you say that? I've never payed attention to that and from now on it will annoy me every single time.
Wow, I must be the only one who enjoyed the movie. I've been a Turtle-fan since the 90's. I watched the 80's cartoon and the movies on vhs and had a shitload of figures, posters, comics etc. And when I saw the premiere episode of the 2003's series, I was talking about it to my friends until the next episode aired :P. Time went on, I loved the 2007's animated film, played TMNT 2:Battle Nexus on PS2 and was still rewatching the 80's series from DVD. And when I heard they were making a new TMNT movie in 2011 (2011 was the original release window for the reboot), I was so excited that i almost cried of happiness. But after I heard that it was going to be produced by Platinum Dunes (Bay's company), I got little worried, because I hated Revenge of the Fallen (the first Transformers movie was great in my opinion.) After they told that they are going to be aliens, I almost lost all the hope for the reboot. The bad news went going on. Megan was casted as April, (I don't have nothing against her, but I didn't like the casting choice. It just felt that she wouldn't fit the role), the early leaked version of the script was *horrible*, et cetera. The time passed, and I was actually getting more excited for the movie, despite the news I heard. Turtles weren't aliens anymore, the pics from the scene looked great. The turtles' lair, *TURTLE VAN*, Raphael in the classic disguise from the 80's cartoon and movie alongside April. (Unfortunately that scene didn't make it to the actual movie). The first trailer didn't impress me that much, but the second one blew me away. They acted, spoke and made jokes of each others like the Turtles i had known my whole life. And I had a little geek out when Shredder pulled out all of his blades. And the movie was released. I was there, first in line to buy the ticket for the movie. After sitting in the cinema few days later, i was so excited that I was sweating. And when the lights turned off, my hands were shaking like crazy, because the moment i've been waiting for 5 years finally arrived. And I was blown away by the Turtles once again. I still can't decide which one is better, the 1990's movie or the reboot. They're both great. Here are few things about the movie that could've been better in my opinion: -The movie was too short -The foot clan should have been ninjas and not soldiers. It was little dissapointing that they used guns instead of katanas, martial arts and other things etc. -C'mon, Karai can fight, not just chase them! -Not "that" relation between Splinter and Shredder (Oroku saki & Hamato), almost just pure fighting. Kraang? Casey? Rocksteady? *Bebop*? And I wasn't a fan of "Shell Shocked" first, but after hearing it in the credtis, it was actually pretty cool. I've never liked "Go Ninja, Go Ninja Go" so much. The beat is decent and the refrain is great, but everything else is kind a meh. For me, "T-U-R-T-L-E Power" from Partners in Kryme is, and will always be the best of them all. If i'd have to rank the Turtle-movies, it would be: 1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) 2: TMNT (2007) 3. TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze 4. TMNT 3 And if people think that THIS was the thing that raped their childhood, have they even seen the Next Mutation tv show or the third movie from the original series? But i'm not mad, because everyone has their own opinions and I respect them. That being said, I'm so excited for TMNT 2 in 2016. Bebop & Rocksteady have already been confirmed, so I couldn't be more happy. Sorry for the long post and horrible english :)
I feel the same way about the Transformers movies as you do about TMNT, but yeah, *nobody* likes Revenge of the Fallen. They're adapting children's shows from the 80's, not Shakespeare, people need to learn not to be so easily butt-hurt.
God help me, I actually want to see the sequel just because they FINALLY brought Krang, Bepop and Rocksteady to the big screen. It only took them 26 years and five movies.
Yeah he listened and just like before he took all the fun out of them, because Bebop and Rocksteady were anything but funny and they got Stephen Amell to play Casey jones and he doesn't get to kick as much ass as he does in Arrow.
-I personality don't mind the Turtles new looks and wish William Fichtner would play The Shredder. -Krang, Casey Jones, Bebop and Rocksteady are rumor to be the sequel. -The one thing I wish you would say about this movie is about how in the begin, the Turtles were going to be aliens.
Yet turtles got reboot after reboot after reboot well before this movie. Hell, the 80's movie and cartoon can probably be counted as a reboot since the idea came from the original comics. That don't fully follow.
In fact, the hate that movie received was exclusively because it was written "Michael Bay" on it even tough he was just one of the producer of this movie. But there were some influences from him : Megan Fox *cough*.To me, It was a good movie that's it and I'm pretty excited to see the sequel :)
Justified hate when the first thing anyone heard about it was that the turtles were going to be aliens, then later adjusted that the ooze was going to be alien in nature.
Mario Bouchard Yeah and those were justified hate. Look at the movie then look at any other Bay movie. He has all his fingerprints over both and it is clear as day.
The kid is right it's a kid movie the older movies are the same it's just we watched them as kids so kids the watched this one an loved it are gonna grow up to defend this one like we do the old ones
I agree the other Ninja Turtles movies were shit, buuuut... some stuff from the movie is just unnecessary. The plot is OVERCOMPLICATED for a kid's movie. What's wrong with good old vengeance and the origin story we already know about the turtles? I don't know, it's flashy and fun and all that, but I think that's it. And if you want to defend it as a kid's movie, it should have at least a more simplified, less stupidly overdone script. Like David A. has just stated: all of those kid's movies he mentioned... what do they all have in common? A simple, easy to follow script, lovable characters and values to show (Shrek: The beauty is REALLY INSIDE, not like in Disney's movies; Kung Fu Panda: no matter who you are, you can be the best if you have passion and effort; How To Train Your Dragon: Animals may look scary, but they're not plainly bad). It's what makes them endearing and overall good. Michel Bay's Ninja Turtles is just a poorly made remake of an otherwise good comic-book/show that happened to have awful movies. And sorry, it's not a kid's movie if you have a hot chick being treated like that and shown like that... it's more of a prepubescent pervert's movie.

STREET SHARKS! o YiPEE can't wait!
ultraveburas Street Sharks FTW!
So proud of my son who co-stars as the kid voice in this one! Yay Epic Voice Jr!
His role was the best
👍
Is your kid an official release *SON4.0* or a beta test *SON3.01*
How old Is his son?
***** Nope he saw one on the free way and and picked him up
I hate when people respond to criticisms of a bad movie with "It's just a kids' movie." That's no excuse for terrible writing and character development. Just look at Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks. You know why they're the biggest names in kids' movies? Because they actually put effort into their work!
Whst are you talking about disney hasn't made a good movie since the lion king.
made for kids but PG-13
assassinofdestiny Toy Story 3 and UP
Jeremy Woodall GO NINJAS GO NINJAS GO!
Yea they are really good at stealing other peoples work
"It's not like turtles were better in your day." "THEY WERE!"
Go Ninja, Go Ninja, GO!
Omg I nearly died laughing
or the other live turtle movies yeah sucked i saw them when i was about 6 or 5 and i had no idea what was going on
Should the turtles even be dancing in front of people? Won't people come looking for them?
@AkaE5 Splinter taught them to "dance hard... and fade away... without a trace "

Ninja rap
"We will drain every last ounce of their blood... even *if* it kills them."
Who wrote this, a 12 year old? Yeah, that *WOULD* kill them dude, LOL.
been waitin for this one
Jay Flemming me too lol
well they're super mutants
Well i guess you need to PITTY DA FOOLS.
Sounds like something Deadpool would say.
Looks like Michael Bay listened to this, because the sequel to this film will have Casey Jones, Rhino and the pig guys and the ninja will actually use martial arts rather than guns
+Nom Anom and potentially the krang
+Nom Anom Hopefully he's made a turn from the day where he would say, "Who cares if the fans complain! They'll still watch it!"
+Brother Malachai haha exactly
pig guys? you mean the Kraang?
Ciara Kidd No, Bebop.
Shredder being called The Iron Throne doesn't get enough recognition. I loved that joke.
"All the pizza places they could've chosen, they picked Pizza Hut?"
The pain...the painfully obvious product placement based pain...
0:42 Donatello wasn't a painter, he was a sculptor. Michaelangelo did some painting, but he hated it. More accurately she named the turtles after Renaissance _artists._
Congratulations you've put more thought and effort into this than the people who made it. You get a +1.
supergamer5121 so true but sad
hahah accurate but I love how you phrased it: Michaelangelo did "some" painting. What, you mean like The Sistine Chapel?
***** April called them PAINTERS. She should have just said ARTISTS, is what the original post was trying to illustrate (no pun intended).
Frank Tobin
April is kind of an idiot anyway, so it makes sense she wouldn't know much about the historic figures beyond their names.
The sequel is pretty much what you predicted. Krang, Casey, bebop and rockstead.
and a human shredder
+Matti A.
Bebop and Rocksteady in an M1 Abrams is what we wanted all along
Ikr
Just wait till they do a dark turtles movie with the villain being slash(the evil alien/turtle that wears similar gear to the heroes but his bands are black)
In my opinion, the best incarnation of TMNT was either the original comics or the 2003 remake
"Corporate Reboot Cash Grab Turtles". "Not just Mumbo Jumbo, but extra Jumbo Mumbo Jumbo". These words will be with me forever.
stell with you man
Micheal Bay was listening...
***** I don't mind a little focus on April ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
he actually did it in tent 2
+Luis Eewwww!
yea .lol
TRUUUUUUEE
actualy "its just a kids movie" should never be an excuse. Kids doesn't deserve movies wher nobody gives a shit just because "its a kids movie".
*****
there is even a new one coming to Nickelodeon that seens to be following this line of mistery and full plot. heck, even BEFORE kids shows had better effort like Animaniacs and El Tigre.
+Patrizio Ferretti it was cruel comics with a lot of satire. So it wasn't for kids. Well, even first movie was a bit more like comics and a lot of parents started shitstorm that brought us "go ninja go" and defeating enemys using food instead of weapons in second movie
+MrKlausbaudelaire Welcome to the world of corporate cash grab where love does not conquer all, just greed.
I love how they have masks, it's a very good way of disguising themselves, it's not like they're giant turtles or something.
What giant turtles?
"You know this is a kids movie, right"
> Earlier point was sexually objectifying Megan Fox.
Yes, totally for kids.
Amen to this comment.
Totally
"Yeah that's great!"
Megan Fox is for the kids dads!
hey she's already sexy af she doesn't need any sexual objectification
These Honest Trailers are actually scarily accurate. He predicted Casey, Bebop and Rocksteady.......can you predict the next Spider-Man movie being good please?
lol it wasn't. but we got venom now
And Krang. Don't forget Krang.
"corporate reboot cash crab turtles"
the truth is painful...even without seeing the movie i could see this
The 2003's Ninja Turtles are THE best among those, yet they didn't even get mentioned.
Asian turtles? What are you smoking?
I'm currently teaching my first graders the difference between opinions and facts. Either you never got past the first grade or no one ever taught you the difference.
mtunis lol nice you must be a amazing teacher for that comeback (and no this isn't sarcasm)
***** ...what anime Turtles? The 2003 Turtles were made in America. It was nearly a direct translation of the comics at parts.
Anime styled, maybe. But it still doesn't count. Do you also Avatar: The Last Airbender is an anime...?
"You know this is a kid's movie right?" In a way that kind of just makes it worse
But it didn't. I loved teenage mutant Ninja turtles when I was younger. I was seven when this movie came out and loved it. When you see it from kids point of view it's awesome. I get that adults will notice more but the target audience probably enjoyed it like me
you totally called the bebop and rocksteady
And Casey Jones and Krang.
Girthburger TV they also predicted this movie in their transformers trailer.
"We will drain every ounce of they blood even if it kills them"
Nah,draining every drop of their blood?
I'm sure they will be fine.
The amount of stupidity in that line of dialogue can't even begin to be described by words
+PhosphorusGaudium the fact that it's a limited resource will increase the value
hahaha
they could just take some and let them live and then later take more and use them as a blood farm.
they could just take some and let them live and then later take more and use them as a blood farm.
The old TMNT films (except the 3rd one) were way WAY better than the Michael Bay abomination.
This was great, seeing these guys tear the Michael Bay movie apart!
I agree!
Michael Bay didn't direct this movie he only produced it. massive difference
Yes but you can see his direct influence which already made his movie crap
Only this first one was good. The 2nd and third one were fucking garbage.
I liked all three movies, but I guess I'm the only one.
"Michelangelo is funny." No, he's freaking creepy as hell. I cringed with almost every line he said that had even the most remote relevance to April. They took the most fun-loving, innocent of turtles and turned him into a gods damned stalker.
Hiroshi Mishima I honestly think those rubber suits were creepy as hell
@@baileyjohnson7380 no they weren't just because no cgi?
People have to understand that, while this movie was terrible. The turtle franchise was ruined long before Bay got his hands on it.
True so true
I never found it interesting anyway. Srsly - some mutants who act like "bros" and eat pizza all day.
Where do they get money from :D Selling sewer stuff in sewer Stinky Market?
Well, i didnt grow with the original ninja trutles, but i did grow up watching the other ninja trutles and i enjoyed watching and rewatching that show a quite a bunch.
What are you talking about? The comics, the original show, the 2003 show, and the newest show are all still amazing, and the first two films where great too the only thing is the third movie.
he didn't so much beat a dead horse as he tried to give it CPR before exploding the dead horse
The current comics by IDW are awesome too
I honestly thought that this was a good film (I coincidentally saw it last night), but compared to the Original it's a bit less fun, though the comics were dark and gritty (like the Mask which they turned into a fun film for the entire family) I honestly like the less dark, less gritty, more joyful turtles from the last century more, but as a movie I didn't hate it, in fact I did like it, if it was labeled anything other than the T.M.N.T.
Apparently Michael Bay was listening.
+Aegis We're all screwed
I was literally just about to comment that
TMNT Out of the shadows?
More characters means more toys which means more money.
And its still at 22% on rotten tomatoes
"Gets the spirit of the four heroes right but absolutely nothing else!"
My favorite quote and a very true quote lmao
Toy story was a kids movie.... that is no excuse for a shitty movie
It's pretty bad brah
I love you ... I just love that response .
Well this movie didn't use alot of explosions so that's a good start
losnf jslefn Exactly just think of all the kids movies we call beloved classics and loved as children.
Well said
"It's not like the turtles were better in your day"
*Cough* TMNT 2003 series *Cough*
The 2003 version is and will always be the best version of tmnt. The 2012 version is a close second
At 3:29, why do I imagine the kid talking as Asriel? The kid sounds so cute and fitting as an Asriel voice!
TMNT 1990 - classic
TMNT 2 - good sequel, though light-hearted and prominently known for Vanilla Ice's "Turtle Rap".
TMNT III - crap, crap, crap.
TMNT 2007 - boring.
TMNT 2014 - Worst. Reboot. Ever.
TMNT 80's cartoon was really popular, I always wondered why they just didn't make a feature film of that. I know as a kid I didn't want the 1990 one.
I watched all of these at the movies.
This movie was great!!!
You have no idea how accurate this is.
Holy crap Micheal Bay was actually listening...
I hope he doesn't screw this up!
+Mad eye studios ikr
+Mad eye studios he better not
Michael bay is always listening
+Connor O'Hare Creepy...
it's funny how everyone keeps whining and complaining about Michael Bay, but they keep watching his movies, thereby paying him and keeping him making more movies.. this will continue until we just stop watching.
I waited for this shit to come on Blu-Ray
I didn't watch it. And I probably won't
*pirate bay* :D
Glad this doesn't apply to me.
*like the movie because sucker for trying to catch references to the old movies, cartoons, comics, and just to poke fun at the movie and people alike. Also See: Dragon Ball Evolution - First Date Fun*
lost it when you said whoopi cushion!
A franchise like this is just like MAD magazine: It was always the best when _you_ were a kid. After that, every attempt to continue it further ruins it. For me, it jumped the shark with the 1990 film.
I love the new sound RUclips makes when you "like" a comment!
I like the sound it makes when you dislike it better.
Adeeb Chowdhury He just stole your attention xD
Elise Katayla Um... yes you can.
Elise Katayla what? lol
Robert Richmond Dislikes don't count for anything anymore. It's just decoration :I
It was a lot better than I thought it would be (I didn't see it in the theaters, dvd on redbox).
“It’s like kid movie, right?”
“That’s not an excuse son. Now go away.”
Hahaha "The Iron Throne". And the Arrested Development reference made me lol too :')
...There's a chance I watch too much TV.
Why the fuck do people keep watching these movies? It's their fault if Michael Bay keeps throwing shit at your face.
+Girolamo Esposito Mass market movie audiences are scatophageous.
+Girolamo Esposito Michael Bay should commit suicide, he will never be able to undo the damage he has done with his involvement with the transformers and TMNT.
+Girolamo Esposito They have children.
+Girolamo Esposito But it's like KRWAAAAA and BWAAASH
+Girolamo Esposito Actually, people yearn for mementos from the past, even if this movie sucks, if the original movie sucks, even the cartoon was a product placement in the first place.
Because all we want it's to connect to our childhood heroes. So Marketing keep dragging us to this shit by re-using old relatable concepts (since they can't create anything anymore) with any piece of garbage script they can find.
Please for the love of grapes and bread and everything else that's actually bad for ducks but good as hell, say: "Quack quack quack!"
Want an alka seltzer?
jayw900 why would I want a alka seltzet
Dude you are a wussy duck I eat anything I want and then I crap thunder!
Duck Avenger well your the duck avenger you have powers he is just a duck a normal mindless duck
Ahh I never thought about that, yes the Duck Avenger is the Duck above all Ducks! Help Duck Avenger in his fight against crime and subscribe to my channel!
When all turtles' personalities combined, they turned into Michael Bay and the place they lived in reflects Bay's movies. Enough said.
I love the casting part. Makes me laugh every time.
Please say: "Hello, I'm the Nostalgia Critic. I remember it so you don't have to."
Please say "I'm Doug Dimmadome, owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome"
Oh, please... yes.
SAY IT!! PLEASE!
They better Dimmado it or else.
YES!!
starring... and the IRON THRONE!!! XD XD XD
fruit ninja lol
Totally =)) Though it looks more like its lovechild with Sauron XD The two monster-sagas have finally something in common other than Sean Bean dying
hahaha
I laughed so hard that it took me four attempts to upvote your comment.
Being a fan of the original cartoon and movies, I can agree that I liked these turtles personalities. If they could these guy and put them into a completely different movie I'd be happy.
I liked the movie. It was great
The character design followed the comic work of Michael Zulli in the black-and-white book, not the color one.
Please do a Honest Teaser Trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows 2016
Please say "This is gonna be good" -Baxter Stockman.
Mchael Bay did listen, Bebop and Rocksteady is in the sequel!
+MrFedoraFilm
there was actually concept art for them to appear in this one, but they ended up being scrapped
It does look promising.
0:53 COME ON
The plot in the cartoon was WAY better!
+alexandra galici How does a RAT read Japanese?!
***** Not an excuse!
+alexandra galici Michael Bay should commit suicide, he will never be able to undo the damage he has done with his involvement with the transformers and TMNT.
+CaptBackwards
Naa... Maybe Transformers, but I predict TMNT will be a strong franchise for decades to come, even after Micheal runs this particular movie series into the ground.
Infinight Moon Let's hope? TMNT XII: A New Hope....?
To be fair, the 1990 film was pretty good. The major dumb shit was mainly the sequels.
And the 2012 cartoon
Please say:
"We come from the land of the ice and snow / From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow / The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands / To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!"
gotta pay rights for that one
3:51 You're wish has been granted and you will also be getting Casey Jones and Krang.
“You’ve made a huge mistake” wheezing
Yeah i did too. It's not that bad. I liked it at least.
***** Yes, this movie is garbage. It's more about a whore who wants attention than about TMNT.
Nick Rick
Comments and complaints like this is the reason why I can't take most of the haters seriously.
Shots fired. Burn
It doesn't need a movie
Power ranger lol
wow thats actually a good idea, perfect fit for MB and no one will care if he fucks up the story. hell he'll probably even come up with a better o-- nevermind
or pacific rim! awesome giant robots fighting giant monsters but no story!
For once, I'd like to see a Michael Bay movie without explosions... wait nevermind. It would only be 15 minutes long, then.
Sick. Burn.
Would you do better, Baggins ?
shane55pwnt
id rather have one BAY than a SHAMALAN ( HAVE YOU SEEN HIS MOVIES ??, this fool killed the airbender , he ended will smiths career )
RAVEN STAR I actually think him and Shamalamabama are on par with one another.
Nikola Tesla I would try. Anything is better than Bay at this point.
I love how the sequel has every character mentioned in this trailer. It's like they made the second movie based entirely on suggestions from this video. lol
I almost wanna see what other franchises Bay f**ks up.
How about He-Man?
That hasn't been shat on in years.
i swear if they make a he man movie, Chris hemsworth (thor) better be he man/ adam
anton riley-burton That'd actually be pretty good.
But you are asking for a logical choice from a possible Michael Bay film.
hey at least im not asking shamylan
anton riley-burton He'd probably get some guy from Glee and bulk him up a bit.
+stufaman please not kurt (the gay guy) please not him and not because he's gay.
It's like the filmmakers watched this for the sequel. All four things the nerds asked for is in the sequel (Crang, Casey Jones, Bebop, and Rocksteady)
Just Another Fan
Maybe because some people know how to entertain themselves without constantly whining.
Just Another Fan
Or maybe people have no brains and just love to hate and look for things to hate to the point they don't even know how entertainment feels like and only say that people with no brains can enjoy this. Maybe it's the other way around. Who knows?
"and THE IRON THRONE." 😂 that's so perfect
I gave the movie a 7/10
The problem is they could have made it serious like the original comics were. The TMNT animated film was serious while remaining lighthearted.
I personally liked it because I felt it stayed with the spirit and still managed to squeeze some 20th century humour in (cue comic timing elevator scene).
say: goddarn it Michael Bay! how many more franchise you are going to ruin? what's next? Voltron?
no, next in line is Tetris (seriously there really is a SCI-FI Tetris movie being made).
"It’s a very big, epic sci-fi movie,”
***** "With explosions as the peices go together.
Huntas Chaos Starring Megan Fox as the lead scientist who develops Tetris.
Don't give him ideas.
Directly after comment was made,
*Voltron, directed by Micheal Bay, greenlit.*
Will Arnett "You've made a huge mistake" I'm proud i got that reference
same that cracked me up
"Oh, come on!"
The reference came from Arrested Development. But where did the lighter fluid come from?
That was an awesome throwback to the old 80s TMNT theme
I fell asleep during this movie. Granted, I might have been sleepy before it started but seriously, I fell asleep
I feel for your wallet, man. Not for falling asleep but for buying ticket in the first placeXD
They could of rented it from netflix or redbox which could of cost less but still won't get the time back from this movie.
They should do "The maze runners"
yeah they should
I hate to correct you but oh no wait I do want to correct you so like I was saying its The Maze Runner not RUNNERS
Same shit
Abrahan roberts oh damn he added a s, oh god please spare this poor soul for adding an s at the end of "Runners" god please spare him take me instead I got grammar mistake up the ass with this comment..... thats what we call a troller boys and girls
Runner*
I will say this... The turtles actually look pretty good
They look like a bodybuilders on steroids, how on earth is that good
nicko bagaskara So are the characters from Gears of War but we still like them
Ben Wasserman YOUR right, but their face looks like the hunchback of notredamn, the rest of the body is awesome
Nicko Bagaskara Ya that part I agree with. They're trying to make the turtle's faces look close to normal but it falls a bit flat. The rest of their bodies are believable to me
+Ben Wasserman good and stupid
Can't tell you how much I loved the "arrested development" reference :D
Can't believe there is no Honest Trailer for THE ROOM !!!!!! Common, the room honest trailer !!!!
Yes! They should absolutely do The Room. I don't why they haven't yet. Anyway, how is your sex life?
I actually just thought about sex on new year Lol, funny that you asked ne this.
Yes, The Room. Definitely.
n4m1k Lololol
Say "Knock knock you're about to get shell shocked"
at 3:43 there is definitely a autobot badge on leonardo's shoulder
I completely lost it at the iron throne reference 😂 😂 🤣 😭 💀
Corporate Reboot Cash-Grab Turtles
Heroes with a paycheck
They've been that way since the 80s.
Bay power!
Well at least the second one has Stephen Amell as Casey Jones in it.
Lots of good actors star in bad movies.
Saucy Wildcat Really? I missed that. It was ok.
Casey was awesome in the second one
Here are few things about the movie that could've been better in my opinion:
-The movie was too short
-The foot clan should have been ninjas and not soldiers.
If i'd have to rank the Turtle-movies, it would be:
1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)
2: TMNT (2007)
3. TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze
4. TMNT 3
And if people think that THIS was the thing that raped their childhood, have they even seen the Next Mutation tv show or the third movie from the original series? But i'm not mad, because everyone has their own opinions and I respect them.
That being said, I'm so excited for TMNT 2 in 2016. Bebop & Rocksteady have already been confirmed, so I couldn't be more happy.
Sorry for the long post and horrible english :)
This version is amazing
people nag about anything these days
I loved this movie
ExtrumComics I 100% agree.
Glad that i'm not the only one ^_^
I've been hearing only pure hate against this movie.
Youre not the only one. I actually liked it!!! People are just so picky and love to complain. It was fun watchable I enjoyed it.
The movie would have been a lot better if megan fox wasn't in the movie
I feel the same way about the Transformers movies as you do about TMNT, but yeah, *nobody* likes Revenge of the Fallen. They're adapting children's shows from the 80's, not Shakespeare, people need to learn not to be so easily butt-hurt.
God help me, I actually want to see the sequel just because they FINALLY brought Krang, Bepop and Rocksteady to the big screen. It only took them 26 years and five movies.
its good (bebop and rocksteady)
I guess Michael Bay listened....
Was just gonna say that.
He did listen, surprisingly.
Yeah he listened and just like before he took all the fun out of them, because Bebop and Rocksteady were anything but funny and they got Stephen Amell to play Casey jones and he doesn't get to kick as much ass as he does in Arrow.
+Louise Christy IKR
Rhyperior Ranger but he’s just the producer
Please do an Honest Trailer for the first (and best) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1999 film before the new one comes out.
+Jonah Ronberg Did I seriously type 1999? I meant 1990.
Please say: 8+0+0+8+5=BOOBS
nono
lol
I’m looking back on the “old” memories of movies and now I feel old because this movie is 3 years old and I still remember the add for it...
Please say: "I'm Mr. Crowbar. And this is my friend, who is also a crowbar."
Lol you said they should add in the pig and rhino and now they did!!!!! Can't wait for the second one
beebop and rocksteady*
it sucks
+Rainn M no duh
Does not
It sucks. I mean you got what you wanted as well as other fans, but...yeah still sucks.
Pretty sure everything stated was only HALF of what was wrong with this movie. Some things just dont need a remake... especially by Bay
it isn't a remake
David Mendez correction it's more a reboot. thank you for pointing out the error.
bay didnt direct this movie
Yet turtles got reboot after reboot after reboot well before this movie. Hell, the 80's movie and cartoon can probably be counted as a reboot since the idea came from the original comics. That don't fully follow.
Ricky Williams there's a word for comic to movie/show or book to movie/show. adaption. they're not reboots
Watching this again after so many years and I just noticed you got mad about the pizza hut thing but in the original movie they got dominoes
3:56 I guess he was listening
You guys should do the men in black trilogy
Yes!
YAASSSS!! :D
Heckin yes
3:00
I know right?! As a previous New Yorker, I am both confused AND offended!
You know when you put it like this. It makes alot of sense. I often wonder why they didn't show the Shredders face
3:58 apparently he was listening...
+Luke Williams stole my comment
how about "the interview"
Yass
Hello Mister. You are a genius.
Its to early for that
Aston Wrath ...it's already out on digital
Complete garbage according to most.
“Nerd rage of a 1000 fan boys” 😂
#1: "Things that go BEWM!" I lolled
#2:... mfw the trailer guy doesn't even mention New Park Pizza, or Louie & Ernie's. I groaned
There's too but when everybody heard that Michael Bay was in the production of this movie.... well the bandwagoon Michael Bay haters arrived :/
YeH! The movie was great!!!
Mario Bouchard Yeah and those were justified hate. Look at the movie then look at any other Bay movie. He has all his fingerprints over both and it is clear as day.
Yeah so what ? I was there to have some fun, just watching a good movie and it was fine to me IMO.
The kid is right it's a kid movie the older movies are the same it's just we watched them as kids so kids the watched this one an loved it are gonna grow up to defend this one like we do the old ones
Finally! Someone with a brain who recognizes the movie for what it is!
Philip Alvarez The first live action film was actually pretty damn good after that is when things went downhill.
Yeah but these videos are so funny. I still like the movies by the way. At least something cool to watch.
How to train your dragon, shrek, and Kung fu panda were all kids movies, and they were considered great. This movie just sucked ass
Why was "Whoopi Cushion" so funny to me!!! lmaaaaaoooooooooo
"I've made a huge mistake." Arrested Development and Firefly references are always a +1.
