The local comic convention sometimes has free arcade games for attendees to play, including the original TMNT arcade game, and my main takeaway from playing it again as an adult is that you don't realize how short those games actually are until you have unlimited lives and aren't constantly running out of quarters. The original is like, maybe twenty minutes from beginning to end.
There was a small arcade across the street from out middle school. It included games like Turtles in Time. You know what we called the kids who could finish the game before the first bell? LEGENDS! 😎
Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara were major exceptions to that. Even with exploits that let certain characters have partial invincibility and no monetary concerns, one full playthrough of Mystara took around 2 hours, whether solo or with a full party.
Played the arcade game as a kid, and my sons and I just ran through it the other day. We all had a great time. Also, that "looking at the wrong turtle again" line was extremely accurate.

Would still recommend playing it, but don't plan on spending more than a day on it at most really.
Yeah, since I'm not on Gamepass, I'm just holding out for the big package of retro Konami TMNT games that's coming out later this year. It'll probably be the same price or cheaper, it has a ton of games, and it's pure nostalgia from start to finish since I played ALL of them back in the day.
