BRM V16 and 917 flat 12, two of the best sounding engines ever created. Ever time I hear that BRM motor can't believe that sound is coming from only 1.5 liters.
1:27 28.4 liter Fiat S76. That is a machine that demands respect: No power steering, no seat belt, no wind screen, no exhaust pipes, spits out hot oil, no tires to speak off, no role cage, no ABS, breaks are ornamental.
+Andrei Bondoc No, the flat 12 Porsche 917 at the end, that is eargasmic. No other car since has ever sounded exactly the way a fast car should. That song says I am doing 240 miles an hour down the Mulsane Straight, it is 2am, I am about to take the kink without lifting, and if you blow on the windscreen and distract me, there will be trouble...
7:16 Gee, thanks so much for this. I never heard of a Rolls Royce Merlin before. All those Spitfires and P51s that I’ve seen must have been powered by something else.
Best video ever!.. if you have gasoline running through your veins then this video is for you!!! The twin V8 rat rod was killer. I didn't know VW made a V8...learn something new everyday.
Í didnt really understand your comment, so if this was a question, than im going to answer it, spirfires did use merlin engines, and later in the war, griffon spirfires were made, that was spirfires with griffon engines in them. Much more powerful, but not many were built as meteors were allready invented (which were jet fighters)
Pls everyone who thinks the engines faulty, look up the video about the V10 TDI(n read the description). It was just cleaned and water from the washing got into the exhausts by accident. Nothing wrong there.
04:00 has to be speeded up. No way that the car is driving that fast and stay so well on the road in snowy condition. And the audio doesnt add up either.
The sound of the BRM v16 was infact recorded at the Goodwood circuit back in 1999. This recording was part of a free CD that came with an issue of Motorsport magazine.
Hey people. If you know an engine or engines that are not so known between other people, share your knowledge with me. It looks you really like this video series and I am thinking of 4th part. It can be production or very interesting custom made engine, not necessarily car motor. Thank you!
Car community haha, Okey so you go ahead and drive your VW passat down the road and speed it up so it seems unrealistic and tell everyone you drive hyper car. That is how you make friends on youtube car community ofc. You sir are a genius
+CamryXLE ya, shit makes garbage for power though and there isn't much you can do for it cam wise because of the head design. Reliability issues of course. Shit engine basically. VW fanboys like to talk it up because they would talk a pile of rotting shit up if it had the VW logo on it. The Diesel engine is the real winner in this video when it comes to VW engines.
Safety prop on the aero engine at 7:48. They spin really slowly so that people can get up close and take a good look and they have flexible blades so that if you do get hit, it doesn't hurt.
That BRM engine was sweet. So smooth with only like 93cc per cylinder. The Merlin engine was awesome and helped us win WWII. When the P-51 came out, it had a crap engine in it, but then they put the Merlin engine in it and it became unbeatable. It was finally possible to have P-51s escort B-17s all the way to targets and back. And (drool) that footage of that 917 on track was just amazing. It looked like it owned the track. Great vid!
First: the A45 has a gasoline engine, the V10 in the Touareg is diesel. Second: there si like 10 years between each other. Third: let's see how fine the Mercedes 2.0L will be after ten years. The V10 TDI may not be cheap to maintain, but it is not that bad. On the other hand, I heard many stories about the A45's engine to break down etc. Don't be a kid, because this was not a mature comment.
Hell no.. Nah, if you want a powerful diesel, get an 535d.. Produces the same bhp and 440lbs/ft.. Cheaper to buy, cheaper to run.. Smaller, looks better and cheaper to tax
+Phil Rauchi Well, VR engines are basically V-inline's, while W8 is V engine of two V-inline engines, if you can understand it. If they call it VR8, it should be inline-8 with half of the cylinder slightly offset to create low angle V-engine, thus just like existing VR6.
LOL - Love the 917 at the end. There has never been a fast car that sounded exactly like a fast car should, after that one. Some have come close, but the 917 got it exactly right in the 1970s and all we have done since is play with the idea...
1:33 that's the Beast of Turin it is a world war 1 bomber engine and the body is based off an old fire engine and it was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed a couple of years ago.
a 38.8 liter V12 tank engine. Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that be a Karkiv model V2? It's what the reds put in the BT-7, T-34, KV-1, and the IS series. And they put it in a volvo tractor.
What about the Wärtsilä-Sulzer RTA96-C, it's a diesel srtaight 14 used to power container ships, it produces 107,390 hp. You can stand inside the cylinders.
Fun Fact: Although Rolls Royce is mostly known now for their luxury cars, they also build aircraft engines such as the one shown in the video! Rolls Royce produced many successful aircraft engines during WWI and WWII, and they still build jet engines for airliners.
The chainsaw bike is named "Dolmette" was built by the german cartoon artist Rötger Feldmann (aka. Brösel) and his team and consists of 24 Dolmar chainsaw engines with a total displacement of 1.9L producing around 125kW and 400nm. Its a beast.
The sound is from ancient F1 BRM V16, however it's higly doubtful if it wasnt just synced to the video, as any of those historical F1 cars wouldnt normaly be driven in suburbs in wet.
Another engine is the 2zzge VVTLI. The engine is made by Yamaha and there are a few cars that have it including the Lotus Elise has it. Its a great engine. It comes from the Toyota Celica GTS. I own one.
3:57 is clear evidence that V10 and V12s will never die. There is not set rule that says V10s and V12s need to have huge displacements. A smaller engine means lighter weight, add a turbo or two and boom Supercar in a hatchback body
Multi-engine cars are a marvel of engineering but rarely put out more than a well produced single engine set-up: Too many sync issues robbing power. You'll notice that even in "unlimited" categories in drag racing you rarely, if ever, see a multi-engine car make it even to the final round. But, like I said, they are a marvel of engineering and my hat's off to them for accomplishing what they did.
4 turbos looks a nice easy car to work on haha
+colinfurze Hey Colin, nice to see you here
You should do that. I know crazy. But hey.
colinfurze you are right haha
colinfurze you need to put quad turbos on your truck
@@unemployedmechanics more like quad pulsejets
How many of those W8 VW's are out there? I don't think I've seen any around. What a beautiful sleeper.
I would love to roll up to a greenpeace meeting in that v12 tractor
ignorant
@stian dovahkiin i see i Triggered a greenpeace activist
nope, youre wrong, and ignorant
+stian dovahkiin triggered
stian dovahkiin you got triggered by a youtube comment, Please take the L.
@ 6:32 the vw pissed on the road.....c'mon guys potty train your cars
+Travis Hall and everyone wonders why vw diesels passed the emissions test :D
ich kann es dir beim besten willen nicht erklären :D
+MrBonaquaman depends on the model and when its made. but no DEF its not just for trucks sadly.
It sharted XD
+Travis Hall I think it sharted.
1.5 v16? Holy shit
+Lucas Sobrinho check another one (h16) engine commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:BRM_H16_engine.jpg
that guy driving in that conditions has some giant cojones!!!! gdamn
+justkiddin1980 it's fake, the original sound is just a recording from the 1950's, so he probably just cut the sound onto a regular gopro video
+ludde newbeast this, the audio was not right for the video
+justkiddin1980 jajaja que maquina
I love how those crazy brits took that v16 out on a wet road lol
can i do a "bunch of chainsaws" swap to my car?
please do!
+Bob Winkleman I would like to second that motion! 👍
+Travis Hall Nope, you can just buy a honda
+MrMicakytu sounds the same!
+Travis Hall lol yeah that was my favorite. No specific figures, just "bunch of chainsaws." =)
6:39 VW emissions going well :P
That 4 rotor is nice!!!
BRM V16 and 917 flat 12, two of the best sounding engines ever created. Ever time I hear that BRM motor can't believe that sound is coming from only 1.5 liters.
My dad had a V10 touareg for a little bit.. the amount of torque it makes is crazy.
I can second.
Had a drive of one. So much power down low.
So comfy and spacious. Its like my dream car for travelling.
and then you think of that tuareg passing the emissions test 😜
hahahhaa
Palios33 passed every time, zero problem. After a Malone Tune almost 400 hp/700 tq to the wheels, too.
Volkswagen emission scandal intensifies
Yes, I know I'm late
1:27 28.4 liter Fiat S76.
That is a machine that demands respect: No power steering, no seat belt, no wind screen, no exhaust pipes, spits out hot oil, no tires to speak off, no role cage, no ABS, breaks are ornamental.
That V16 - eargasmic
4:00
+Andrei Bondoc No, the flat 12 Porsche 917 at the end, that is eargasmic. No other car since has ever sounded exactly the way a fast car should. That song says I am doing 240 miles an hour down the Mulsane Straight, it is 2am, I am about to take the kink without lifting, and if you blow on the windscreen and distract me, there will be trouble...
You can't say that doesn't sound good either
Andrei Bondoc Yes, it does sound very good. It is just not my favourite. [edit] Wait, you're talking about the chainsaws, aren't you?
Not the chainsaws, there's a v16 car but it doesn't show the car itself
Good to see that the Rolls Royce Merlin (as used in both the Spitfire and Lancaster bomber) gets a mention.
7:16 Gee, thanks so much for this. I never heard of a Rolls Royce Merlin before. All those Spitfires and P51s that I’ve seen must have been powered by something else.
You are welcome :)
Best video ever!.. if you have gasoline running through your veins then this video is for you!!! The twin V8 rat rod was killer. I didn't know VW made a V8...learn something new everyday.

Much more powerful, but not many were built as meteors were allready invented (which were jet fighters)
could this be sarcasm?
That 1.6L V16 is insane! I wouldn't mind trading in my Domestic V8 for that thing! Sounds almost the same but probably gets better MPG!
What sick monster made that car at 2:50?
Pls everyone who thinks the engines faulty, look up the video about the V10 TDI(n read the description). It was just cleaned and water from the washing got into the exhausts by accident. Nothing wrong there.
How many civic engines are there at 3:38
04:00 has to be speeded up. No way that the car is driving that fast and stay so well on the road in snowy condition. And the audio doesnt add up either.
it's fake cuz the brm engines were made for racecars :/
2:19 finally something from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Let's just say one of the four turbos suck in a fly. Where'd all that money go???
The fly would just burn in the engine?
+VisioRacer I'd hate to clean up inside if you drove through a group of bugs
Of course, but that's not your problem fortunately.
isn't that what an air filter is for?
That question is honestly so stupid.
3:00 FOUR TURBOS ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW?!?!?!?!!!
We heard you like turbos so we put turbos on your turbos so you can turbo your turbo while your turbo
=
welcome to Australia
Ethan Tanguay the veyron has 4
***** the veyron is a quad turbo v16
6:33 When you want to fart but something else happens.
The sound of the BRM v16 was infact recorded at the Goodwood circuit back in 1999. This recording was part of a free CD that came with an issue of Motorsport magazine.
Holy shit that quad turbo rotary made my ears bleed! I can imagine how that sounds in person lol
Hey people. If you know an engine or engines that are not so known between other people, share your knowledge with me. It looks you really like this video series and I am thinking of 4th part. It can be production or very interesting custom made engine, not necessarily car motor. Thank you!
+VisioRacer The Napier Lion in the Napier Railton is pretty weird
+VisioRacer Junkers Freikolbenmotor
3rd video is lame the car doesint have exhaust pipes that why its loud and soumds nice
+Octavio Garcia Wrong.... Do some research on the W8
Matthew Toxic I think he meant that FIAT S76
Great videos! Love hearing them best on the road or on a dyno when they're working hard.
glad to see you included the 917 and its wonderfull flat 12 sound
That v16 video was a sped up with some random ass bike sound
+MrYlijumala I haven't ever heard a bike sounding like this
I agree. it's a bike. the transmission is the same
+MrYlijumala You must not know about the BRM V16. Go do your research before posting.
You can post whatever, but you won't be well-liked by the car community.
Car community haha, Okey so you go ahead and drive your VW passat down the road and speed it up so it seems unrealistic and tell everyone you drive hyper car. That is how you make friends on youtube car community ofc. You sir are a genius
That V16 BRM and Flat 12 Porsche engine!❤️❤️❤️
6:33 it jizzed
lol, when you finish after jerkin it for an hour
0:45 was not expecting that at all. Pleasant surprise :)
Passat W8 means I will never diss a VW ever again.
Haha same
+CamryXLE I know... their VR/W engines sound sick!
+CamryXLE It doesn't take a W8. Look up 16vampir.
2.0L AWD turbo, over 1,100hp. 1/4 mile under 8.5 secs
+CamryXLE It's slow as fuck though!
5:23 That poor bicyclist probably feared for his life right there
When the video first started and it showed the second one after the tractor, I wasn't looking at the car. From 0:42 to 0:47.
Seabass The Walking Man Fish
she had some pretty nice legs.
right
Seabass The Walking Man Fish
i just realized you're the same age as me....
Oh ok. Cool.
Seabass The Walking Man Fish
are you on car throttle ?
2:00 Great! an external combustion engine!.
Rainy dash footage doesn't count as a "Mad Engine" video...
The sound of that 917 gave me the chills. Damn 08:47
The only thing missing was the W12 Touareg and the 2.5-5 cylinder VWs
+Nick Brown That 5-cylinder is regular inline-5 (both diesel and petrol), but W12 might be in next video.
+VisioRacer I beleive he meant VR5 engine.
macmakkara VR5 is 2.3-litre
vw is for the ass
vw is for the ass
that 5.0 v10 tdi is good
lol at the bad turbo on the v10 tdi. fucker just spewing oil.
Nah, it was just water. The original video description says it was freshly washed.
the problem is that it has only 300 hp..
Melaifior it's a diesel. probably has 3x the torque.
tune a slightly bigger turbos would put you in the 500hp 700ftlbs range.
Safety prop on the aero engine at 7:48. They spin really slowly so that people can get up close and take a good look and they have flexible blades so that if you do get hit, it doesn't hurt.
I'm friends with the people that own that 4 rotor 4 turbo Rx2 :D I'm getting them to do an engine rebuild on my 95 FD
nice.
6:31 This happens to me when I have had too much coffee in the morning.... damn, it wasn't a fart.
I'm gonna get a Pontiac solstice and slap that 27 litre v12 in it let's see that's 1900lb car and a 1500hp engine,Tokyo Drift mode activate!
nathaniel spanne it has been put in vehicles, it's the engine from a spitfire
nathaniel spanne it has been put in vehicles, it's the engine from a spitfire
Even better the spitfire is one of my favorite planes
nathaniel spanne in memory of Paul Walker. RIP. YOU BROUGHT UP TOKYO DRIFT!!!! :'(

313 bhp from a V10?! What a shit engine, Mercedes get that power from 2 litres..
Show me that engine
+VisioRacer Mercedes A45 AMG.. 2.0L turbo: 380bhp and 475Nm of torque... From TWO litres
First: the A45 has a gasoline engine, the V10 in the Touareg is diesel. Second: there si like 10 years between each other. Third: let's see how fine the Mercedes 2.0L will be after ten years. The V10 TDI may not be cheap to maintain, but it is not that bad. Hell no..
Nah, if you want a powerful diesel, get an 535d.. Produces the same bhp and 440lbs/ft.. Cheaper to buy, cheaper to run.. Smaller, looks better and cheaper to tax
That hot rod with the two v8's. I seen it a few years back in Hot Rod magazine's "Dare To Be Different" issue.
W8? can someone explain me? is it the engine code like LS2 or the placement of the cylinders?
basically like having 2 V4 engines side by side
Jonathan Williams oh... thanks for ansewring :)
+Andrei Bucur vW is so stupid to call VR8 a W8
+Jonathan Williams However it is not created by putting 2 V4¨s together, that is technically impossible. W8 is result of merging two VR4
+Phil Rauchi Well, VR engines are basically V-inline's, while W8 is V engine of two V-inline engines, if you can understand it. If they call it VR8, it should be inline-8 with half of the cylinder slightly offset to create low angle V-engine, thus just like existing VR6.
Man I love the sound of that flat 12.
the second one with the girl i would ride that lol
The girl or the car?
+Riley Bradbury both ;)
nope the girl the cars ugly and stupid
+wade mckenney the girl for one night, the car for ever
+Marek W right opposite mate :D
Het is verschrikkelijk mooi om te kunnen zien wat uitlaatgassen doen als ze door een uitlaat gaan. Tot witheet heb ik het gezien!
0:42. impressive. those legs
I work in telluride as a valet and Jerry Sienfeld comes in his V10 TDI Touaregalmost everyday during the winter. :O
I lost it at 6:31 when the VW shit gas!
xD
It just wanted to pee, you know
I could drift away into sleep listening to the sound of that passat W8 wagon rev
5:27 Fuck that I'll take the 240.
6:40 Shat itself.
that British V16 sounded beautiful
I don't think when a mother spews out liquid is a good sign...
it's a diesel
+Q DA BAUSE actually it was water (in the case of the Touareg)
perfect combustion creates water
LOL - Love the 917 at the end. There has never been a fast car that sounded exactly like a fast car should, after that one. Some have come close, but the 917 got it exactly right in the 1970s and all we have done since is play with the idea...
787b? It sounds pretty fast to me
am i the only one who noticed the Nissan 240 at 5:30?
no
Whats wrong with it ..?
Did someone watch the pick up at 8:00 ?
Carlitox b か馬あま市さ差差無か化化美香か査 査馬差差なさ査まら馬まナサ
5:00 You can see another S13
1:33 that's the Beast of Turin it is a world war 1 bomber engine and the body is based off an old fire engine and it was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed a couple of years ago.
please no more diesel
Son eu diesels are better than gas
That 14.7 liter R12 is sick! Hell all the rotary engines are sick!
0:42 marry me!!
a 38.8 liter V12 tank engine. Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that be a Karkiv model V2? It's what the reds put in the BT-7, T-34, KV-1, and the IS series. And they put it in a volvo tractor.
0:25 looks like Abraham from the Walking Dead, I could see him smashing walkers with this
the quad rotor quad turbo is bad ass but the severe lack of air filter is very concerning
That wierd moment when you saw an old Passat with a true engine sound for the first time !
On 5L Touareg u can place the canister under the muffler and fill it to the top, then pour it back into the tank
I had no idea that VW made a W8, and shoved it in a Passat haha thats great and sounded amazing. Great vid!
The chainsaw bike is named "Dolmette" was built by the german cartoon artist Rötger Feldmann (aka. Brösel) and his team and consists of 24 Dolmar chainsaw engines with a total displacement of 1.9L producing around 125kW and 400nm.
Its a beast.
i really love from the sound of the motor "not" seen in minute 3:57 and i love the car in the 4:57 minute. who knows
The sound is from ancient F1 BRM V16, however it's higly doubtful if it wasnt just synced to the video, as any of those historical F1 cars wouldnt normaly be driven in suburbs in wet.
That V10 diesel @06:31 is spitting something out... It's like the car is taking a sh1t :D
The bike is called Dolmette. It's driven by 24 dolmar chainsaw engines. It has a total of 1.9L displacement and puts out 170hp/400nm.
Yeah, it used to take me all day to plow my fields but now I can get it done in about 30 minutes.
3:57 They made a V16 engine that is only 1.5 liter?! 🤯
I don't get it why your channel is not famous yet. But soon it will be!
I love your videos!
its like car throttle but without the big Community
+_____ “FutureAlloy65” _____ but he shares his videos on CT as well.
True statement
Props to the ones that created these beasts
4:15 .... doing that in the rain.... brave soul he is.
5:25 bicyclist probably got scared....and that 240sx looks nice.
The BRM V16 is unbelievable.
Another engine is the 2zzge VVTLI. The engine is made by Yamaha and there are a few cars that have it including the Lotus Elise has it. Its a great engine. It comes from the Toyota Celica GTS. I own one.
the station wagon passat is just gold.
I've actually seen the passat in the first video for the w8 it's lowered now still sounds sick
3:57 is clear evidence that V10 and V12s will never die.
There is not set rule that says V10s and V12s need to have huge displacements.
A smaller engine means lighter weight, add a turbo or two and boom
Supercar in a hatchback body
That's the best sounding Fiat I ever herd😍
Damn! That quad rotor is sick! Might be a tad overboard. But hey, if ya got the money..
Wow really cool video. That V16 sounds INSANE.
i love the one that literally spits fire out
The guy in the supercharged v16 was an insane driver in the wet / mild snow
2SLO50 U.M.F its fake. bot being a dick but bmr engines are 4 race cars and the audio dident match up
7:12 is pretty cool blade effect
the passat sounds like a lion roaring through a trombone :)
Multi-engine cars are a marvel of engineering but rarely put out more than a well produced single engine set-up: Too many sync issues robbing power. 0:42 RAWR!!!
0:57 The heck?
0:59 Sounds wicked!!!
5:21 😂😂😂 that guy on bicycle nearly got hit
