  • This Anytype review has been a long time coming. Anytype is a Notion alternative that is killing the game of productivity apps. The unique features of Anytype are what make it stand out from both Notion and Obsidian. This video goes into 3 key reasons why I think Anytype is better than Notion and if you stick to the end there is even a bonus tip! Be sure to let me know what you think about Anytype in the comments!

    I just received my AnyType invitation yesterday, and I now have my account setup, looking to find more information about it, so thanks so much for your video!
    I currently have a Coda Pro license, but I do find the offline ability, and especially the PRIVACY aspect to be a massive positive in AnyType’s favor!
    I’m hoping I can accomplish similar to what’s possible with tables and relationships in Coda an Notion, since that’s the main draw for me with these productivity applications.
    I’m really looking forward to learning and using AnyType!

    The privacy and security features are a top reason to hope this reaches a full development phase. Can't keep sensitive material in Notion atm, so we end up using alternatives like Joplin for journals, health information, and all that jazz - while using Notion for more general stuff. It seems that AnyType doesn't yet have equation functionality in its databases though?

    One thing I often think about any type is that is is trying to be notion and obsidian at the same time , and its interface might look cool but its complicated , notion is way easier , in case of safety you can always store important information or personal notes on obsidian , and just use notion to manage work space and thing like , todo list , habit tracker , team information and many more plus notion template list are on a whole another level then anytype and for linking obsidian is the best . So a/c to me anytype is not a long term player . its my personal view and experience as a 3 month anytype user . I will love to hear your take on this mr admin .

    Great explanation! 👍
    I'm still searching for the right app. My problem with most of the modern note apps: they are constructed for desktop in the first place and often don't even have a proper Android app - e.g. Anytype: only a beta, Logseq: no official one - or you almost need to be a tech nerd to understand/set up even the synch function.
    I'm on the road almost every day but without a laptop, so I need something designed for Android in the first place, which I can synch with Win in the second place 😅

    Whoosh, great first (for me) look into Anytype. My way to watch Demetri's videos is to set 'em to 0.75 when you go clickin' around. I ain't 30 any more haha. But great, I've been nagging about the offline mode in Notion for so long, I might as well try this out. Also, Notion takes forever (compared to other apps) to open on iOS as soon as I've left it for a day.. Even on the OS it's slow, specially when adding a new tab, it seems like it's reading the complete contents from the start , doing some sync or whatever. Ain't bashing it just like that, I told 'em I still loved them but it's slower and slower.

    Uuu, great future Notion alternative, seems great, especially the offline mode and the open source stuff. Hope they make it to the market. And I hope they have a good Notion import that actually works (Coda, for example, doesn't work for me) to be able to make a transition.

    Why choose Anytype in 2023 vs Obsidian or Heptabase for example? I dont understand the point to dont have whiteboard/canva in 2023. Bit sad, because i like the background of anytype.

    • @wasgeht7102
      @wasgeht7102 10 месяцев назад

      Personally I don't need a whiteboard. I know whiteboards from Logseq and I didn't like it there. Heptabase seems to be far better regarding whiteboards but personally I think it's laborious to manually draw the connections between notes, i just wanna type to which note I wanna link my current note.
      I'd rather like to see something like an expandable concept map.
