I didn't ask for 'amazing new features'. I wanted the core features to just work. I wanted to keep a decent native desktop app with a local datastore. I wanted reasonable pricing for the full feature set. Neither of which I got, and that's why I'm gone now. I was a paying customer for more than a decade.
Same, I've come to YT to see if I can find out how to even use it, it's horrible to find anything let alone delete any notes. When I open something there is no sign of a trail as to how I got to where I am. I'm trying to ditch a load of outdated notes. Evernote is not making it easy. Don't get me started on importing my Google cal without asking for permissions.
Some new features are really great like the audio description, which is really helpful for me. Also, I like the new typeface better than the old one. There are also some things which I really didn’t like: Evernote made some really big cuts in functionality and often informed me later not before. On my 8 year old computer, it became quite slow. Really important features were just cuttet. I tried different apps, and overall Evernote seems to be still the best for me so I stick with it for now.
I was Evernote user since 2012. But in between left as feature request were not made . I finally left . When bending spoon took over I requested time and date stamp and hey there in short time there it was I paid my full year subscription and plan to remain with evernote. Regarding their subscription its very fair - Tons of features and they listen to their Users request. this is EVER NOTE !!! Bending spoon made it Ever !!!!
Task syncing between devices in my experience is very slow though. Waiting for the calendar features to have parity with iOS. But you’re right, Bending Spoons seems to love Evernote and that bodes well for its future. I remember when Evernote was more concerned with brand swag like socks and water bottles. They also made their own EN branded scanner. I did love their backpacks.
You forgot their biggest update: Blocking features that were once free (for years)behind new paywalls that are even more expensive than streaming services.
Lots of innovation happening in Evernote since the acquisition. As per the price - less than cost of 1 coffee a week. So if you use it as much as I do, then well worth the small fee.
As someone who has been using Evernote since 2008, I totally agree. I get a ton of value out of it, so I'm fine with the cost. If they ever want to attract new users though, I think the cost needs to be a little more competitive.
They betray us. Now is not free. Depending which level you will need, the more money will cost to the people who need it. Also they are charging depending which choice you will need. They broke my heart taking all my life and my notes, becsusr I did not know. All my written notes were in there and gone without the chance to know. Thanks for nothing.
Like your videos... Not this one I'm afraid. Evernote is dead, price, speed and customer service was dreadful etc... can't compete. Moved everything off to obsidian. Never looking back.
About a year ago... soo many issues with Evernote. Improvements, price and appalling customer service make me really dislike the product. I was an 8+ year user with over 30k notes. Like many others, i simply cant stomach the mention of them tbh.
@@charlesbonfante9188 I was you. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything else I could stick with for very long. I got a promo for half off and figured I would keep EN around until I could find something better. The improvements thus far by Bending Spoons have certainly captured my attention, and I don't want to let past experiences with the old EN prevent me from considering the new EN.
What are your thoughts on Evernote?

Like your enthusiasm, which I could feel the same :) I can't even see notes in notebook without phaffing about.
haaha

I’m so happy it’s coming back to you in the way you wanted!
How does it compare to obsidian?
Does it finally support markdown?
Have you tried out the AI audio transcription they dropped recently? I'd love your take.
I have not!

Is the local calendar option only a paid feature? Not appearing as an option for me
I don't pay for evernote and I'm getting it for free
You forgot their biggest update: Blocking features that were once free (for years)behind new paywalls that are even more expensive than streaming services.
thanks for the feedback
What do you think of Amplenote in comparison with Evernote? Since it has feature similarities, like notes, tasks, and calendar integration

I'd rather have a one time purchase and not higher than 10 euro's even Procreate does insane stuff for less money
Good product - just far too expensive for what one receives for the money $$$ - IMO
that's totally fair!

A Coach for that Software like Evernote is the same like an Influencer for products likes and some rise for money. 🥳
thanks for the comment
What?
Did they 10 year wait for merging notes in ios is finally over? If not Evernote is SO NOT back!

Evernote finaly should fix the thing with the thumbnail - I need it that I can change the thumbnail-picture.
That’d be nice
Seeing The Dawg? Nice.
hahaaha
teşekkürler
Thank you!
I cannot suscribe to a company responsible for so many layoffs.
X… brother. It’s X 😆
Dang
I have more than 3 devices. So I can't use Evernote.
Same here
yeah that's a bad downside
Dead as a doornail. Every solution out there is cheaper - and many of them are better. Especially at notes. IMO, the Spoons made a bad acquisition.
if they revive it, maybe it'll work
Like your videos... Not this one I'm afraid. Evernote is dead, price, speed and customer service was dreadful etc... can't compete. Moved everything off to obsidian. Never looking back.
when did you do this change?
