I looked at the reviews of people who bought it, and there is a lot of: "great design, but too cheaply made; parts fall off of it easily, like the lock cover" I've found it for sale for as little as 28.00 US. still, the company does honor its warranty, and apparently will send you a new lock if the one you have breaks. and for 28 bucks? that's still quite a useful bike lock. interestingly shows none available on Amazon, but this place says it has them: www.gearbest.com/other-accessories/pp_286706.html never bought anything from them before, so buyer beware etc.

I have one of these, bought just because I loved the design. Alas, I dropped it on the second time I used it, and this broke the retaining clip that holds the chain in its rolled-up, locked position. It still works, but the chain will flop around unsecured when not in use.
That's a lot like the type of keys you get on vending machines. When I was an engineer and had one that had spun the barrel round and stopped working. We used a key and filed down the raised part on the key. Opens no bother
Later on in video 714 he demonstrates a picking and impressioning hybrid approach that I think would work on this lock if you had to pick it more than one position. In any case it is a great video and worth checking out :)
Out there there are lock manufacturers banging their head on the table in frustration as LPL picks his way through every New lock design that they come up with.
I wish he would extend these videos into giving his opinion on how likely it is for this locked to be picked, also how hard would you need to yank one the chain to break it, and how easy/hard would it be to break with tools such as boltcutters or battery angle grinder.
I have a couple of these locks for my kids bikes when they take them to school, got no complaints about them. Probably Wouldn't use it on my own bike though but fine for school 🤘

Nice job, in your opinion what is the most reliable bike lock , I mean one that you would use in your own bicycle? At least to delay the process. ? Thanks.
Is this lock - or rather, this type of tubular lock - resistant to the Bic pen trick that the Kryptonite and Kensington locks of the early 2000s were vulnerable to?
ive had that same lock but sunlite for years. its been great other than needing to squirt teflon to get parts moving a few times. so i got another slightly different brand but same style and after a few months the long skinny style key broke off locked up outside a walmart. they wouldnt let me borrow cutters so i bought a pair of bolt cutters and snipped it and returned them lol. sadly the cheap cutters went right through that steel like butter. not much tougher than a thin cable.
Seems like a good option. Pickable, indoors where you can position the look as you want/need. But a bike thief in the streed I think it is to time cunsuming and fuzza. They go to another bike. So the looks seems very good in that aspect. Does not to be pick-proof. Just "to much work" or "to slow to open".
I love these videos. Are core locks still vulnerable to the trick where they use a round plastic pen sleeve? I don’t think many thieves are going to be sophisticated lock pickers, rather pry or cut. Do you feel like it is a better than average? Close to the Forget about it? Thanks!!
Outstanding video! I did see this on Bill's video as well. Neat design but seems to lack a little in security. I need to attack a tubular myself. Never tried. Time for a new challenge.
Thanks. Tubular locks tend to be pretty easy once you get the feel for them. Take care not to over set pins (the biggest challenge for tubular locks IMO), and these locks will open for you without much effort. Good luck with them!
That's funny if you see the video that I just posted a couple of days ago you will see me using that tension tool to pick a tubular lock. I was trying to make one but it was a fail. So I went to the tension wrenches that came in that kit and that's when I discovered that one. So I want to thank you for the review you did on them or I wouldn't have them. But anyway couldn't you use that hole to tension it to begin with?
Yup, I saw it. I guessed it was for tubular locks in my review video, and it seems to work for them, but there's still unexplained features. As for using the hole, there's no good way to apply enough force to it without a custom tool...
That key and lock looks just like the one on my tool box at work that guards my thousands of dollars in tools. Works the same except the center pin doesn't pop up.
I'd love to see how this fares against the bic impressioning attack. Perhaps you could do a roundup style video on the bic impressioning attack and go through some of the tubular locks you have?

Thanks for the video I have a question regarding the special tention wrench that came from banggood would this work on the Street cuffs as it has a similar ring For tensioning thanks and have a good day.

yea same. it seems sturdy enough(more than a damn cable that can be just cut) and is way more compact and adjustable than a U lock
You could hit that lock and it would probably break because it can move separately or you could punch a hole in the joints i guess
I looked at the reviews of people who bought it, and there is a lot of:

Everyone else: this is probably the best bike lock on earth?
He really helped this lock company lol
For pickability sure, but the chain part looks weak enough to be pretty easily snapped open
that's my concern as well. in my country, thieves would very much prefer boltcutters than picking.
