    looks clean! I noticed some interior handles were peeling, a good way to clean that up (if you haven’t already) is to use a plastic scraper or scotch pad. made my mk4 look brand new. Love mk4 wagons!

    Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! My '03 TDi wagon is my daily driver. It has 250,000 km and on its second timing belt. After scraping bottom too often, I had the front springs swapped out for V6 Jetta fronts and 1" pucks to raise the back springs.

    I like the way you saw value in this wagon and went about cleaning it up and with a few improvements really brought out a cool daily driver for a budget minded car guy.

      Nice man! I sold this wagon a while ago but I just picked up another the other day for $700. Lower miles and nicer trim. Defiantly has a few issues to sort out but who can complain about a $700 car.

    Looks great! Big difference from what it was when you got it! I couldn't believe someone could drive around with all that trash everywhere. I just hope the previous owner did regular maintenance and there are not many mechanical issues.

    That ALH TDI engine was the peak of VW diesel engineering and development. Could get 1000 Kim’s (620 miles) On a single tank in city commuting. 1150+ Kms on the highway. Can’t find any of these with less than 400,000 on them now. The body and suspension are rusting out from under the engine.

    Had a 2001 Jetta TDI manual w 165,00 kms that
    I sold in 2011 prior to moving to the Toronto area. Should have kept it and driven it across the country but that’s another story. Anyway, the first dealer offered $1500. Hum. Did some detailing. Found a replacement floor mat to replace the worn out one and ended up selling it for $5000 with a Diesel Power tuning module.

    I want to get a tdi but the current political climate says that diesels that get much much better gas mileage is worse for the environment because it makes black smoke carbon deposits so they will be banned within the next 5 years

    • @zombiecrow92
      @zombiecrow92 2 года назад

      Don't worry about that. Diesell can't be banned. Planes, trailers, ships use diesel. They can't ban it for cars but use it for shipment vehicles.

      @@HatsuneM1ku01 Same here in Bulgaria. We have eco categories and im in the lowest one. That means i cant drive in some cities some days of the week but the funny thing is that its based on how old your car is and not on emissions. So a 2010 tdi that pollutes more can get in the city but a 2003 petrol can't if the eco category is lower than 2 or 3 i think.
