I own a Seat Alhambra (VAG) the same colour as yours and I was thinking of painting the rails Black and wanted to know how to remove them THEN I watched your video and was converted to NO RAILS which look soooooo much better ... I also plan on painting all the chrome trim and wheels Black as well ... Stealth camper in the making IMO ... it would have been an idea to put a smear of black silicone under the blanking plugs before fitting OR even some super glue to prevent the ingress of water
Looks great. Nice informative video. I'd do this to my MK7 Sportwagen but I use the roof rack for bikes all the time. That thing looks a lot better washed :)
@@spottedeuros1529 Excuse me! Great instructional, may I ask how you get the back of the roof liner to drop down like in 9:03? Ive removed the plastic trim that you pull off, but Im trying to change the antenna for a shark fin and cant get access due to the head liner and fear i might break it...
nevermind you did EXACTLY what i wanted to see 😂❤ i needed to know if i could take the grab handle out , looks like i can as long as i take the mirror out thanks !
Can’t wait to do this to my 2003 Jetta Wagon 1.8T that has both 16” BBS RXII wheels and 17” Long Beach wheels that I alternate between warm and cold months.
Hey man. I'm very happy to find your channel on you tube, because in my garage stay a similar Jetta mk4 wagon, but it's Tdi. The front bumper is slightly sagging due to a minor stutter and there is a 2-3 cm gap between the headlights and the bumper. Any tips on how I could put it back on or repatriate it? :))
You can probably find some other videos that will be more useful. Maybe try taking the bumber off and it will give you an idea on how it is fastened on.
@@spottedeuros1529 … a shot of the label with parts/stock and scan-code number would have been very helpful. Go to the store, shown the label, and ask “got any?”
Spotted Euros I like it man looks better without the rails in my opinion. Keep this wagon man! They’re definitely fun for sure you can’t complain about the space and 2.0 motor haha.
Spotted Euros Hajaja did I really man?? I don’t remember lol but who know we probably met! No man i didnt! I kept the wagon! It’s lowered on coilovers, with 17” Oem Ariettas wheels, with Mk4 gti 20th anniversary Recaros!
So cool. I have seen your wagon on the local facebook group a couple times. VR6 Manual is a unicorn. Ariettas are my favorite wheels for the mk4s. I prefer the 17s over the 18s.

Love your videos! Definitely inspiring me to get my Mk4 wagon with a shot transmission up and running!
I’d love to manual swap this one but probably smarter to just find a manual wagon. Haha

Very clean I like the look. Did you add anything to prevent water leakage? Also where did you get the plastic caps from?
Ace hardware. I didn't but you could probably add silicone to stop leaking.
@@spottedeuros1529 Mine leaks even with silicone. Just a rare drop or two but I know it's there because I have no headliner in place.
Is that mounting system the same as on the passat B5/5.5 wagon ??
Same question
Yes it is
2:00 your welcome

do you know or have you seen anyone who’s done an mqb tiguan ? i don’t wanna drop the headliner but that’s the only result im getting 😢
Looks 👌🏽 What did you use for the antenna?
Electrical tape.
Why did you tear off the tint?
Caps part number? Thanks
i was thinking how to remove it on touareg in case i wanna do full wrap of car
what is the diameter of the holes ?? 😊
Bondo diamiter
damn, that's clean, very nice!
Where did you find the plug kit. I'm looking everywhere for my B5 Passat Wagon.
You can find a variety of plastic caps at the big box hardware store, in the hardware section where you find drawers of various fasteners and such.
To be honest it looks good like his better, it's creative and budget friendly.
Does it leak any water?
i’d do a light waterproof silicone under caps for security
Well done, but a roof rack is always a plus. I'll be repairing mine instead of removing it.
I have the same car, I like the look. Good idea.

are u sure those plastic caps will stop water from a heavy rain or melting snow to enering car? they look as they arent to me......
100% water resistant just like the iphones
Use some non silicone sealer that is used for rain gutters. Use just enough so you don’t get any squeeze out.
Looks great if I didn’t use mine on my mk4 tdi wagon I’d definitely do it nice work
It is pretty useful to have. Cool to see what it looks like without. Wagon got a hair cut.
Spotted Euros that’s a great way to put it 😂
how, where can I find those caps?
Ace hardware is where i got them.

yes that's looks nice and those plastic caps don't look bad I kinda want to do this to my Touareg
It turned out to be a lot easier than I thought and looks pretty good.
What lowering springs did you use. How much did it drop
Hi
I'm thinking of doing that too..
Where did you get the roof plugs?
Did you notice any increase in mpg due to better aerodynamics?
Thanks!
Looks good man I’m debating on doing that to mine!
Yea man, turned out the pretty cool.

We should meet up josh haha it be nice to meet man! I’m in salt lake county 😊
Yea man, I believe you bought some steel wheels from me a year or so ago. Did you end up selling your mk4 wagon?

I don't understand why they don't make cars and sell them with rails just as an extra option. It just seem so stupid. 🤔
Who cares what it looks like if you don't have the utility of a roof rack?
Those are way too easy to take off
That’s what I thought.
