Gracias por el dato de arena de acuario para el balasto. Yo lo hice con arena sanitaria para gatos, (la NO aglomerante) y me resultó bastante bien. También lo he hecho con arena de cuarzo para filtro de piscina.

Thanks for watching, always looking for other tips thank you. Some people also use chinchilla sand for finer ballast.

Good idea how you covered the point blades. I usually do not put the ballast so close to the switches. I always seem to foul them up if I do.

You just have to take extra time and care with the points just to make sure none of the ballast is fouling them.

I havent seen anyone yet use the fine black aquarium gravel (there may be a very good reason why black is not used) lol but I have some and when the time comes I will try it and see how it goes. Yours looks very good Mark.

The black might be to dark I plan to weather the gray ballast as it is a bit bright. Let me know how you get on.

Hi mark, the layout is coming along great, Im ballasting mine just now but I used the Peco foam underlay before seeing your method of using cork. The foam doesn't look as good on its own so I am adding a ballast mix, its more time consuming and fiddly but I will get there. Looking forward to seeing more scenic work. Cheers

Hi Neil glad you are finding the videos useful. Cork gives a nice shoulder for ballasting. But the foam helps more with sound deadening. I like the sound of the trains drumming through the baseboard :)

The reopening of the Western Rail Corridor would bring back trains in Donegal & Bordering Counties of course reduce on Pollution, Car Accidents, Traffic Jams & Road Deaths also 24 hour trains in summer & St. Stephens Day Trains too.

Nice video Mark! It is coming along, and seeing the ballast going down is a huge step. I also like the tip about plastering for a shed. Cheers!
