This is WITHOUT a doubt, 100%, the OFFICIAL Doobie Brothers Anthem song. BEAUTIFUL timeless classic that I NEVER get tired of. Thank you Mr. Tom Johnston for writing this masterpiece of a tune 😉
I'm so glad to see Tom Johnston back on vocals, sadly he had to drop out of the tour over back problems, what a loss for this great band. One of my first loves.
Of course they’re having a ball, getting that crowd Going, and with one of the 70s’ best Feel Good rock songs. The instrumental arrangement is fantastic. Their arrangements always have been.
This arrangment is spectacular! The way Tom just starts singing without introducing it, the "quieter" first verse and then the introduction of the drum and bass. Perfection xx
My brother no truer words were ever written or said. I'm almost 63 and remember the first time I heard this cut. Music is magic isn't it? It takes you and I back to places and times that were special. As the boys said Listen to the Music. Peace to you and yours.
I’ll be 21 here in January, and I️ love music like this. Wished we had more music like this today. Also wish I️ could travel back in time to enjoy this music, in it’s prime. Although, this will never be out of it’s prime!
What a song .Best Doobie bros song of all time for sure.what a great bunch of musicians they were and still are. Love all there music .never will it ever be bettered Long live the Doobies .
This is the song that made me a Doobie Brothers fan. Fall of 1972, I was living (temporarily) in Urbana, IL and heard it on WLS out of Chicago. Bought the single (on the old Warner Brothers olive green label). There were others I bought (Long Train Runnin', China Grove, etc), but that one was the first, so is still special to me 52 (!) years later. Saw them in concert at the University of Illinois Assembly Hall in December 1973. Great show.
The song that started it out for these guys!!! NEVER EVER GOT TIRED OF HEARING IT!!! It doesn't get any better than this one and I've seen these guys in concert 3 times over the years. Wish I could have been there for this one too...... Just FANTASTIC!!!!! How it must have felt for the band members to watch and hear the audience sing along with them with BIG SMILES ON THEIR FACES!!! I can feel the vibes, excitement and electricity right through my computer screen!! ;-)
Are we sure this is 1982? Because that's some stellar video quality considering and the members look a lot older than the 10 yeas it would've been since this song released.
Never a huge fan but Doobie Brothers music was always a part of of your life's soundtrack.....always uplifting .....you never changed the radio during a Doobie tune....
The fact the Doobies was not in the HOF 20+ years ago proves that its a corrupt, political POS. I'd love it if they told them to go pound sand up their ass.
Albuquerque '78 stunning lightshow flowers of light blooming out the guitars, never forget! I love a band w/ duel drummers.Thanx for the post & rock ON! :D
@@isfj1009 I knew what you meant.....and totally agree with you. The song is so well known and LOVED that many people do covers of it and that's quite a compliment!! ;-)
These guys never fail to impress. Always a tight rhythm section and they always give you a little guitar lickin' in there for good measure. I've been lucky to have seen these guys 5 or 6 times and every concert was great. Edit: Must be 105 people who are still upset they changed the name from the original Pud from there roots.
the great Dobbie Brothers Band they just keep getting better been listening since the 70s and will keep on until my demise.what a great down to earth American band we are so lucky to have them keep on rockin guys.
I remember so well when you guys played in the park in Kelowna B.C. at the Regatta....My band and I were sitting right in front on our blanket and a cooler full of beer....Outrageous afternoon....I will never forget your band and this live performance is a magical moment for me...thank you! :)
First cocert, Doobie Bros opened for Fleetwood Mack with guest "the stone ponies" ie..Eagles. Doubles have the tight music with a uplifting message. In a word... AWESOME!
The whole band is still as great as ever - but I have to say, in particular Tom Johnston's voice is still as crisp as it was in the 70's. Incredible.
I have recordings from the seventies. He’s had several throat surgeries. His voice has aged ok. But not the same as the seventies not even close 😂
Tom Johnston had such a soulful voice
Love that gold top PRS! These guys are still rockin' it!!!❤
I saw them live in NZ, and they were quite simply brilliant, it was soo good 😊😊😊
And the other original founding members vocal too - Patrick Simmons. Man they can still rock live!
Tom Johnston, the BEST most feel good era of the Doobies
This is WITHOUT a doubt, 100%, the OFFICIAL Doobie Brothers Anthem song. BEAUTIFUL timeless classic that I NEVER get tired of. Thank you Mr. Tom Johnston for writing this masterpiece of a tune 😉
WOW, I MISS THE DOOBIE BROTHER'S & THE 70'S.
I'm so glad to see Tom Johnston back on vocals, sadly he had to drop out of the tour over back problems, what a loss for this great band. One of my first loves.
Tom Johnston is really amazing. His voice really has never changed like other old groups still out there.
One day I hope to be able to just smile, and be happy like Patrick Simmons...
He is such a great musician and vocalist still. 54 years that he and Tom have been rocking and rolling together in the band. God bless them!!
The chorus has 4 words. And it's on the top 3 greatest of all time.
Gawd, they all look like they're having such a good time. Love it.
It's such an infectiously happy song, it's hard not to smile while singing and dancing to this song.
I was going to say the same exact thing. sooo cool.

Great show guys.
Glad to leave a comment here, that I wont be required to delete later.
Thank you for all yall's years of happiness for us!
This is the way music is played, and sung. Cheers
Saw these guys in Sydney in April this year (2023) at The State Theatre. Pure magic. Thanks for a great night guys ❤️ I can die happy 🙂
Tom's voice sounds as good or better than it did back when this song was first released. Amazing.
Young listeners. Classic music never gets old it gets better.
Damn straight!
You got that RIGHT!!!!
I actually woke up hearing this particular video in my mind, with Tom singing definitively like he does in this one.
Tom Johnston is the heart and soul of the doobies
This song even sounded good in 1972 on a Panasonic transistor 9 volt radio on a string.
This song is a great song. brought me out of a lot of sadness and depressions. Thanks for sharing and still playing....
You know when I am depressed I listen to this n I feel better ,:-0
That kid's, is how it's done.
Pat Simmons eyes water with such emotion as the audience takes over. That is a humble and grateful man.
This should be the anthem of life !
These guys have the most catchy rhythm guitar introductions of any band of all time, this song, China Grove and Long Train Running.
The greatest gift you can give an artist is to sing his song back to him!
My favorite Doobies song. Still have the album when it first came out many years ago..........
They still sound great. One of my favorite bands.
This song makes me feel so good! So happy and full of life
1976. Easter Sunday Miami FL.Bob Seager and The Silver Bullet Band open for The Doobie Brothers.I was there.21@ the time. Now 61.Listen to the Music.

The best of the rest. Great music, great fun, and great memories. Thank you all for the music.
There's a reason why they have lasted so long...the music speaks for itself.
We are all Doobies under the skin.

Home grown American rock n roll!
American rock.
Holy COW they're SMOKIN'!!!
Oh wow! Just as good as ever. What I love most is they're still happy to play and give 100% for their fans. They're not cop-outs. What a class act.
I have been mad at Tom ever since he left the Doobies. He made me love them and then he broke my heart. Today I have made peace with him.
You were mad at a guy that developed medical issues and couldn't continue?
The great point from this song is bring us back to the good times in the 70`s
The 70's was the golden age of rock. Overlooking disco.
You have to love these guys and love listening to their music. Finally they are getting in the HoF and that is long over due.
The fact the Doobies was not in the HOF 20+ years ago proves that its a corrupt, political POS. I'd love it if they told them to go pound sand up their ass.

The same for me man...
Absolutely!!!
The Doobies embodied the 70s music....................
I don't think there's a song on Earth that makes me feel better or more hopeful. Thank you for what you do

Chicago & Doobie Brothers touring this year!!
And they're both better than ever!
How the hell did it take so long for these guys to get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? They should have been inducted day one!
Pure politics.
Another great song by The Doobie Brothers !!!
All of their music recorded at Wolftrap is as good as it gets.
The band from my hometown still rocking today. Will be seeing them soon in Nevada.
Oh,we got to let the music play... what the people need is a way to make ‘em smile, it ain’t so hard to do if you know how.
I love Pat Simmons. He is just the coolest guy. I used to have the biggest crush on him. John McFee can play anything...he's brillliant.
It was a good time to have been alive.
1982! The Brothers Doobie were apparently high definition pioneers.
Try 2004.
Just listen to Tom! Quintessential music love joy (TM)
I’m “listening” and I’m liking. 👍
