Tom Johnston has changed very little over the last 50 years, maybe older and the hair shorter but he's still the same Tom. Like how he encourages participation from the fans. He obviously thinks very highly of them. This is like 1972 has never really left.
What the people need, is a way to make them smile, it ain't so hard to do, if you know how. I love music, somehow, and for some reason, this song sums it up for me.
Like the Eagles, these guys became like friends & brothers to me. Seeing them rocking on into these later years does my heart good and wishing I could meet them to tell them face to face!
That right! It was magic. And there has been nothing like it since. So sad music went down the tubes after the 70's. The Doobies sound even better now than they did back then. I've seen them in concert 4 times.
Ya know, Tom Johnston is an incredible comeback, and was most certainly the heart and soul of the band. So great that he could come back and do it again. Thankful
Patrick Simmons is also so valuable. He has survived every Doobie incarnation and writes and sings the most beautiful songs. (South City Midnight Lady.)
Esta canción me hace recordar mucho a mi papito, a el le gustaba mucho está banda, cada vez que amanecía ponía está canción bonita, son recuerdos que siempre estarán en mi alma 🖤🍀🤍❤️🩹
Where be the LOVE button on this page! Sending big love to this band. One of my all time favorites. Pat, Tom, John, and all guys past and present, thanks for the magical music!
Great memory of John's V neck headstock right in my throat as I stood right in front of them at the Carowinds Paladium back in the early 80s. That was the best, and made up my mind, I would be in a band someday! Sadly, Tom wasn't there, but Michael McDonald was. Love em both, and love the doobie bros forever!
🖤🥀Amazing song and I love it! Excellent lyrics vocals and music and the meaning I guess it takes some ppl like me born into music by my Dad he's on many labels and was inducted into the Country music hall of fame and honor in Macon Ga singer song writer to appreciate a powerful artist and these Guy's are Phenomenal🥀🖤✌☝️
I'm 74 and The Doobies have been rocking my world since forever. I had a t-shirt custom made with their picture on the front, and "Which Doobie You Be"? on the back. Always draws questions at concerts.
I remember I just purchase my McIntosh 250 watt power amp and ESS heil air motion transformer speakers. Running Sansui pre-amp, Pioneer equalizer with a Phillips linear motion turntable. Ahh... all state of the art back than!! I got brand new Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan "Can Buy A Thrill" vinyl, just to enjoy the best quality sound and "Fine Columbian" I could effort at the time. LOL
GREAT DOOBIE, dear Bro the music Song of my Young past time , thanks for all ,my best music group in the world,One big like from ASSISI ITALY 👍, mutch love Paul free thinker.💨💨💨💨💨💨
I've always had an affiliation with this band since 1974. I heard their music and fell in love with them even though I'm English . Thanks for posting. I just so wish they would do some gigs over in England before they call it a day! Here's hoping!!!!
I sure do miss the 70s and 80s. The music today is not even the same. Sometimes I wish I could find a time machine and go back in time. Life was much easier and everyone enjoyed life! Is this your favorite song?
I was in my teens through the 70s, it was a great time for music unlike today, todays music, if you call it music, makes me long to listen to disco and I road the disco sucks train through the 70s,
i only just discovered this band a few day's ago from 'that's 70's' on the tv and this song came on and there's something about it and i keep listening to it now lol and then i found this channel with lot's more songs to discover, i'm really enjoying this 👍

I think this is the only band I would ever make the trek to see in person any longer.
Old is gold,hands down.
Doobie Brothers - congratulations on being nominated for the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame.
What the people need, is a way to make them smile, it ain't so hard to do, if you know how.

@@jazminejones4032 My favorite Simmons song is "Neal's Fandango." GREAT road-trippin' song.
The best live rock band ever...Incredible...The arrangements,playing,voices..Out of this world...
Seen them twice at Charlotte NC. in the 70s damn they were good. Anybody else out there seen them in the 70S, ROCKIN & ROLL.
Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band opens up for The Doobie Brothers on Easter Sunday 1976 in Miami. Fact. Period. I was there.

Pat Simmons is an amazing singer and musician, one of the best!
Saw them in concert in 1975. They're on their 50th anniversary tour now in 2022. Amazing.
I'm 74 and The Doobies have been rocking my world since forever. I had a t-shirt custom made with their picture on the front, and "Which Doobie You Be"? on the back. Always draws questions at concerts.
Great songs NEVER get old and I never get tired of listening to them and this is just one example. Man, they "just don't write 'em like that anymore".
I remember I just purchase my McIntosh 250 watt power amp and ESS heil air motion transformer speakers. Running Sansui pre-amp, Pioneer equalizer with a Phillips linear motion turntable. Tom Johnston is the original true voice of the Doobies. Sad that he was absent for so many years, though they were great even without him.
