Amazing vocals and musicianship. One of my favorite bands of the 70's. They were flawless then as they are today! Great video! Thanks for sharing this!
I was looking at Tom's shoulder strap design for his guitar, and it looks like either South Western style jewelry, or a take off from Native American Indian jewelry.
Yeah, I thought that Keith had departed years ago. The irony of life is that I recall hearing that Keith and his family had taken Bobby LaKind who played the bongos/tom-toms because he was dying from colon cancer............and then poor Keith gets cancer also..... A decent soul who supported the troops...............God Bless Both!
A legendary band. Saw them in downtown Modesto about 10 yrs. ago and they sound just as good. Was hoping Michael McDonald will show up but even w/out him these guys still rocked our brains out.
RIP Michael Hossack Great tunes and I got my early doobies to Toulouse St and The Captain and Me...Still digging the Doobie Bros and I hope to hear more from u guys...keep on rocking that positive vibration men... :)
Doobies are the best and are Hall of Famers to me...I'm going to see them for the 2nd time this year...Saw them in Laughlin NV on April 21st and going to see them (with Chicago) in Tucson AZ on July 11th. Keep on Rockin'!!!!
Love the Doobies...My favorite band of all time...I'm going to see them in Laughlin NV on April 21 and I've got a front row seat...I can't believe it. RIP MH
i LOVE this BAND! SO much talent here! they sound just as good if not better than back in the 70's I'm so glad to have experienced all of the many wonderful bands (and cars) from back then!
Look, I've seen these guys 6 times over 40 years, ist time at the U of Arkansas in 1973. They don't need a bunch of studio musicians to recreate their studio sound... they fuckng do it themselves. THIS IS A REAL ROCK BAND.
The credits show Keith Knudson on percussion........BUT, Keith passed away years ago..........still a great live version, for sure......... Play on, you guys! I've seen the Doobies three times and every time was a real hit! Steve
Very true...too many of today's so called performers do exactly that...what's their problem? So many young people today like this music so much better than a lot of the crap they're playing today...very consistent comment on these sites.
amen sister, beauty for ashes , strength for fears, gladness for mourning, peace for depair!! He is the RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE.. LOVE LOVE THE DOOBS MUSIC, ESPECIALLY JESUS IS JUST ALRIGHT!!
Not to take away from his accomplishments, but back when these guys were originally performing live, Steve Jobs was still in college. Now all those computer tricks we take for granted were just an idea in Mr. Jobs' head.
Tom Johnston looks very Healthy and virile-must be eating Seaweed...yep good Band saw em in '75 with skunk Baxter and Michael McDonald, recall Skunk calling Perth Beer "Shit"!, then he came back and turned on the nice guy charm..so all was forgiven..lol Music was very uplifting and powerful
At 0:54 check out the bass player, CLAPPING HIS HANDS COMPLETELY AWRY THE BEAT OF THE TUNE!! WTF? A musician that can't clap in time? Never saw that before.
@ninoninochile Maybe Popular music...but you must understand that things need to move forward. This is amazing music, and people are making amazing music today as well but its just not the popular stuff. If you wanna find some good current music then start digging cause its out there...but yea...this must have been an amazing concert O_O
The group changed when Tiran Porter replaced Dave on bass.” The finishing touch, which has become an important part of the Doobies’ music - double drummers - came when “Michael Hossack was added as the second drummer.
Pat and Tommy are great people and one of the best guitar duos ever to play together. They still sound great!
Was listening to these guys in the early 70's---still great music!
Music: one of the greatest gifts to mankind ever. Pure bliss.
Amazing vocals and musicianship. One of my favorite bands of the 70's. They were flawless then as they are today! Great video! Thanks for sharing this!
One of those numbers that you not only have to listen over and over, but it's also one that you need in your playing arsenal.
There is such a lot of joy, inspiration and enthusiasm in this performance - I just can't believe it.
Beautiful concert!
These were happy times.
Patrick was wearing a French beret?
Tom Johnston was lovin' his fans!
He gets right up in front, and puts himself in touch with the crowd, like he knows their his.
I was looking at Tom's shoulder strap design for his guitar, and it looks like either South Western style jewelry, or a take off from Native American Indian jewelry.
Oh yeah, duh, he's from Texas.
Yeah, I thought that Keith had departed years ago. The irony of life is that I recall hearing that Keith and his family had taken Bobby LaKind who played the bongos/tom-toms because he was dying from colon cancer............and then poor Keith gets cancer also.....

Doesn't get much better than this. Prove it otherwise and show me the results.
At my age, the old Doobie Brothers music bring back fond memories. Love the Michael McDonald era, but the old Doobies were really cool in high school.
Thanks!
Just what I needed.
Old bands playing with new technology is just mindblowing. The sound they produce is so great.
What a fantastic performance!!!!!

I am glad I was a teen in the 70's - and went to may concerts
it is amazing that Tom Johnston's voice is as good or better than it was 40 years ago...and this is after throat surgery and vocal rehab. Amazing....
Love the Doobies...My favorite band of all time...I'm going to see them in Laughlin NV on April 21 and I've got a front row seat...I can't believe it. RIP MH

That is one impressively in-tune crowd.

frenchy, audio and video were a little out of sync. Looks bad though
Steve Jobs stole everything from UNIX
WHY 2 DRUMMERS...????
The group changed when Tiran Porter replaced Dave on bass.” The finishing touch, which has become an important part of the Doobies’ music - double drummers - came when “Michael Hossack was added as the second drummer.
Why not!
2 drummers on stage never made sense to me...
because they can, besides, 2 different rhythms might be required
and percussion too
