With a tip o' the hat to Joshua Rifkin, who in 1970 started the great revival of Joplin's music. Probably this is a remastered CD of the original vinyl records....Scott Joplin - His Complete Works - Label: Nonesuch Records (1974)
Fuck.... this Version of the Entertainer was by far the best i ever heard... is there a possibility to exchange this piece with you via Discord or Email ? Kind regards
Sad story about this recording - Richard Zimmerman got sued for the royalties because three of the songs were not in public domain yet, and the copyright was still held by the estate of Lottie Joplin.
The video is up again, it got blocked due "The Entertainer", so we will no longer be able to hear it. I apologise in advance.
OMG, why was that ??? ... copyright infringe ??? ... descendants protest ???
@@rjwintl Something to do with royalties, I don't know the details, Richard Zimmerman himself got sued for performing this song.
Thanks.... for the entertainer issue well, there's plenty of them online
Wha...? The Entertainer was published in 1902 and is most assuredly public domain.
Probably the interpretation is not public domain. Anyway, thanks for reuploading it! Could you please update the description to reflect the new times?
Scott Joplin never died he just became music...
Scott Joplin. None can compare, nobody's even close.
Agree 100%. He was the coming of the Lord.
What a beautiful sentiment.
I cried on a mid-summers day listening to Scott Joplin.

I think he died like over 100 years ago.
@@funnyuser2796 She means like, his music is still living and alive and known today
@@urfavragtimeguy3875 I know, my comment was a joke

Lo mejor de lo mejor gracias aDios Encino este genio
My favorite pianist Richard Zimmerman and the other is Joshua Rifkin.....
¡Genial, gracias!
Bellissime interpretazioni, e quella di "Weeping Willow" è semplicemente insuperabile. Grandissimo Richard Zimmerman.
This is superb
Love the last one(The Chrysanthemum)!!!!!!
Superb playing
Thank you for this!
first track "i am thinking of my pickanniny days" - un homage to robert schumann's träumerei, perhaps?
Excellent! I have often compared Tramurai to Weeping Willow also -- beautiful haunting melody.
nice compilation and playing. just annoying that the tracks overlap at the beginning and end.

Just wishing after years passed for you to have the sheet.
Sad story about this recording - Richard Zimmerman got sued for the royalties because three of the songs were not in public domain yet, and the copyright was still held by the estate of Lottie Joplin.
Why is that sad? I mean Lottie was probably happy.
@@chuckHart70 "the estate of". She was neither happy nor sad about this, since at that point her concerns for things earthly had ceased.
Anyone else hear the what I believe to be drums in The Ragtime Dance?
yes in some joplin's ragtimes you need to stomp your foot while playing (it's written on the sheet)
AGREE
while i love this recording, it kills me that the endings get swallowed up in the fade-in/fade-out. Kinda ruins Pickanniny Days.
