The great Scott Joplin and the sound of America!
My favorite part was when he said
"It's rag time" and proceeded to play a jolly tune
Mozart and Joplin in the Entertainer!!

As for Maple Leaf Rag Song, this was not arranged by Joplin, but rather by Etilmon Stark, son of publisher John Stark. My performance is very much based on the sheet music with few liberties taken. Criticize the now-dead arranger, not the composer or performer.
Well, there is definitely some poetic license here, but I'm actually liking many of the interpretations.
Maple leaf is stretching it, but many are truly beautiful. Who knows, perhaps even Mr. Joplin would approve.
Its the Maple Leaf Song, its a seperate composition based on the Maple Leaf Rag from 1899.
3:25
wtf that mix the entertainer + mozart C sonata
The 432 Hertz label is interesting - aware of the peaceful alternate ??
??
Just wander how it comes Maple Leaf Rag song 1903 ? was it published in that form as we can hear here? and on personal note its sound over done. Is it just me ... to not particularly likening that version of Iconic Rag? Don't take me wrong way I'm all hands in experimenting, improvisation and adding new personal touch to classics but from 1-10 its just 3+ in my book lol
This version is definitely not the same as the original Joplin composed. It's horrible and agree with your 3 of 10 rating!
@@wholesomekeks5598 It is a Joplin compostion from 1903, it was remade to the original 1899 Maple Leaf Rag version, able to sing with it! In volume 1 of this series, also on this channel you can hear the Maple Leaf Rag from 1899.

These are not the original compositions by a long shot. Skip to maple leaf rag, what in the dickens!!
Maple Leaf Rag Song -- a different composition by Joplin for voices (not heard here). Presumably intended to capitalize on the populatrity of the earlier composition. I had to look this up, but it's true.
It's not Chopin. It'a not Tchaikovsky. It's not List. It's not Mozart! Why, it's Scott Joplin!
